This puppy will be played in Peixe’s house in Sao Paulo.

Santos has one of the best young players in world Neymar.

The second leg will be play in Assuncao, Paraguay.

Peixe is the only remaining Brasileiro side left in the competition.

On Thursday, Penarol battles Velez Sarsfield in Montevidéu, Uruguay.

One Uruguay side, one Paraguay side, one Argentinos side, and Brasileiro side have made it to the final four.

In the Argentinos Clausura, Velez Sarsfield is in the pole position with 30 points.

Second place belongs to Godoy Cruz with 27.

Third place has Lanus with 26.

Fourth place finds Olimpo with 25 points.

River Plate is in fifth place with 23.

Boca is holding steady in 9th place with 22 points.

El Fortin defeated Gimnasia 2-0.

Los Millionaires and San Lorenzo tied one all.

Los Xeneizes and Arsenal de Sarandi tied two all.

Let games begin.

Saturday is the big day.

Man U-Barcelona battle for the Champions League crown.

The last time these two sides met in the final Barca had their way with Sir Alex and his guys 2-0.

Will Saturday be a repeat of this?

It could well be.

The Barca cheaters have one of the best players in the world Lionel Messi. His wing mates are David Villa, Pedro, and Xavi.

Camp Nou has a ton of team speed.

The mighty boys from Old Trafford have Dimitar Berbatov, Wayne Rooney, and Chicharito.

This should be a great one.

The Red Devils are playing in their house Wembley.

Will this make a difference?

It could.

The cheaters from Barca should win.

But don’t count out Sir Alex.

He has many tricks in his bag of tricks.

Pepe is a master também.

Flamenguista for life.

Finally the nation of Spain can breath a huge sigh of relief.

Spain defeated Germany 1-0 to advance to their World Cup final.

In reality, the Spanish last played in the World Cup semifinals.

Get this it was way back in the way back machine.

Try 1950.

Huge Kudos to Spain for their steady march towards their first title.

Spain is like a snake playing with its prey before killing it.

The Spanish are trying become the first team who lost their first World Cup match and win the title.

Italy lost their opener and made to the 1994 finals but lost to Brasil.

The German’s sat back and tried to play a defensive chess match with Spain.

Absorb the attack and then counter attack. It sounds good on paper but reality it is stupid.

Spain played with Germany thru the entire match.

The Spanish should have scored at least four times before Xavi nailed a perfect corner kick into the center of the box. Mate Carles Puyol poked home the header in the 73rd minute to send Spain to the finals against the Netherlands.

Puyol had plenty of hops. He out leaped a defender and one of his mates.

What makes this feat even more amazing is this Spain played without its two big time players Fabregas and Torres.

Both were hurt.

Fabregas and Torres will be ready for the final on Sunday against the Netherlands.

If the Netherlands uses this blue print to beat Spain, you can kiss your butt good-bye.

The Dutch have the firepower to match Spain’s.

Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt, Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie, and the old stand bys Arlen Robben and Wesley Sneijder.

This match features two teams who have not won a World Cup title.

The last time this happened was in 1978 between Argentina-Netherlands. Argentina won the whole enchilada.

This will be a barnburner.

You gotta love it.

This is one of those lag kinda days. Not much happening. Once Saturday arrives, all kinds of great futebol will be played. The FIFA World Club Cup finals and the EPL is back in action as well.

Once again, I would like to thank the fine sponsors of my blog Sports Memorabilia, Luci Now Com-E cigarettes, and my newest one The Sports Authority- the nation’s preeminent full-line sporting goods chain. Messi and the boys will take on Argentinos side Estudiantes in the World Club Cup Finals. On paper, Barca has all the talent. The Catalans have the Golden Ball winner Messi, Brasilian Danny Alves, Pedro Rodriguez, Xavi, and Thierry Henry. This is enough to put the fear of God into any side.

This is the team that kicked Man U’s butts in the 2009 Champions League Final. Barca made the fake Ronaldo look silly.

I am sorry but the pundits and the useful media idiots think Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest player since sliced bread. Not.

For surely when it is nut-cutting time, the fake Ronaldo does a Houdini. He quits. The fake Ronaldo is a good regular season player but when the match is on the line, he plays like a girl.

Enough said.

I think it was a shock that Estudiantes won the Copa Title. Estudiantes beat the Brasilian side Cruzeiro 2-1 on aggregate. Both sides played to a nil-nil draw at Estudiantes house Cidade de La Plata. The Argentine side shocked the Brasilians winning in Cruzeiro’s house in Belo Horizonte 2-1.

I was shocked too. I thought that Cruzeiro was going to win but hey crazy things happen in the  futebol world.

The Los Pincharratas (The Rat Stabbers) have Leandro Benitez, Juan Veron, Maximiliano Perez, and Mauro Boselli that can cause fits for Barca.

The key match up will be midfielder Juan Veron verses Lionel Messi. If Veron can at least somewhat control Messi, Estudiantes will have a chance to beat Barcelona.

For all you history buffs, the Catalans have been to this dance twice and each time Barcelona has lost.

Will the Catalans make it an O for three?

I won’t bet on it.

But remember this, Barcelona is a tired squad. They have played a boatload of matches. The Catalans are discovering what Man U discovered last year. It is really hard to play in the FIFA World Club Cup Championship, Champions League, and fight to win a domestic title all in the same year.

Then add on top of that defend your Champions League crown when every side in Europe wants to kick your butt and send you home packing.

They want to embarrass you.
