Man U is driving all their fans nuts. This is a constant state for all us Gunner fans and Gunner nation. Let the fun and games begin. We Gunners fans live with this all the time. So welcome to our world.

I would like to wish all of my readers a Merry Christmas and a Blessed and Happy New Year. We will take off Christmas Eve and Christmas Day then we’ll be back at it on Boxing Day December 26.

God Bless you all and let’s remember that Christmas is the Celebration of the Birth of our Lord Jesus. Yes, I am a Jew who believes and follows Jesus-Yeshua.

Barcelona proved to the world why they are the best futebol club in the world.

The Catalans destroyed Santos 4-0.

This sucker wasn’t even close.

Lionel Messi hit the daily lotto.

Messi started off the hit parade with a strike in the 16th minute.

The rout was on.

Xavi found pay dirt in the 23rd minute.

This puppy was over.

Messi added his second goal in the 82nd minute.

Former Gunner Cesc Fabregas scored in the 44th minute.

Peixe won the Copa Libertadores but against Europe’s best Santos comes up way short.

Santos finished mid-table in the Brasileiros Serie A.

Peixe was tenth with 53 points.

Neymar said- “It’s impossible to stop Barcelona, but we are the second-best team in the world and for us that is a great reward.”

Santos headman Muricy Ramalho said- “Barcelona are the greatest team in the world,” he said. “No team can live with them. They’re unbeatable at the moment. Losing 4-0 to them is no disgrace.”

Pep Guardiola said about his side’s win- “My players were like artists,” Guardiola said. “Whatever they envisaged in their minds they were able to do on the pitch. It was an incredible performance.”

Here is the link- http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/998668/santos-forward-neymar-left-in-awe-of-barcelona?cc=5901

UOL wrote this about the slaying of Santos by Barcelona- Durante cinco meses, Muricy Ramalho vendeu a imagem de que o Santos iria atacar o Barcelona. O treinador passava horas analisando o clube catalão, consolidou um esquema tático para o esperado duelo, mas modificou tudo momentos antes de perder por 4 a 0 para o melhor time do mundo no Japão. Só que a escolha foi por uma opção jamais treinada.

Barcelona is good but these cats are in a dogfight in the Spanish League with hated foe Real Madrid.

In the La Liga Real Madrid is top dog with 40 points.

Barcelona is second with 37 points.

Sir Alex and the boys stunk the joint out big time. Man U crashed and burned against an inferior Swiss side Basel.

Basel won 2-1.

The Red Devils gave up two really stupid goals to Marco Streller in the 9th minute and Alexander Frei in the 84th minute.

The mighty boys from Old Trafford were not ready to play.

Man U made way too mistakes in the back line.

When the Red Devils had a chance to score or create scoring chances they turned the ball over or made really stupid passes.

This serves them right.

Man U has been playing on fumes all year.

The blow out at home against Man City exposed the Red Devils as pretenders.

This was Basel’s first trip to the Champions League knockout stage.

The Swiss side kicked Man U’s ass big time.

Congrates to Basel for their huge win.

Man U has won a title and been to the Champions League finals three out of the last four years.

Man City scored two goals to beat Bayern Munich 2-0.

The Citizens needed Villarreal to beat Napoli.

Not on this day.

Napoli defeated the Spanish side 2-0.

Bayern and Napoli advance out of Group A.

Real Madrid moved on as well as Inter Milan, Benfica, and Lyon.

The big question remains is this is Man U really that a bad?

Man U has scored only one goal in a  match since City clobbered them.

The Red Devils have heap big problems.

Yes, the guys lost a great keeper and their defense is very suspect.

So now Sir Alex and the boys need to step it up big time if they want to catch City in the EPL title chase.

It all came down to this. Win and you are the Campeonato.

My guys from Flamengo ended Vasco’s dream of winning the Brasileiros Serie A.

Gigante de Colina and Mengao tied one all.

This was a must game for us.

We had to have a result.

Internacional defeated Gremio 1-0.

If the guys didn’t get the tie this would have dropped Flamengo to fifth place in the table.

A goal by Renato in the 54th minute saved our hides.

In the 30th minute a goal by Diego Souza gave Gigante de Colina the lead.

It sure looked like Vasco would win the whole banana until the death knell struck twelve.

Corinthians and Palmeiras tied nil-nil to give Timao the crown.

Corinthians finished with 71 points.

Vasco ended up with 69.

Fluminense was third with 63 points.

Mengao has fourth place with 61 points.

The guys made it to the Copa Libertadores.

Globo Esporte had this to say- http://globoesporte.globo.com/jogo/brasileirao2011/04-12-2011/vasco-flamengo.html

The Brasileiro Serie A is done.

The guys did well to finish in fourth place considering last year where we were almost sent packing to D-2 ball.

So here’s the deal on the final matches of the Campeonato that will take place Sunday December 4th.

My guys from Mengao have a shot to kill Vasco’s chances of winning the title.

All we have to do is beat Vasco.

This is a big derby between Vasco and Flamengo.

We are in fourth place with 60 points.

A loss could knock Rubro-Negro out of the top four.

A win could move us into third place.

Fluminense is in third place with 62 points

Coritiba sits in fifth 57 points.

Internacional is sixth with 57 points.

Figueirense is seventh with 57 points também.

Both Coxa and Colorado have the tiebreakers over Mengao.

We have a lot to fight for in this season finale.

If the guys win Flamengo will make to the Copa Libertadores.

The top five sides in the Brasileiros Serie A qualifies for the oldest South America club competition.

The winner of the Copa plays in December for the FIFA World Club Cup title.

I would love to stick a fork in Vasco’s title dreams.

I don’t like Timao either but our season is hanging the balance.

Globo Esporte wrote this. Flamengo chances of making to the Copa are 90%.

This may be true but I am not holding my breath.

Flamengo always finds a way to screw it up.

http://globoesporte.globo.com/futebol/brasileirao-serie-a/noticia/2011/11/guia-da-libertadores-fla-atinge-90-de-chances-e-coritiba-passa-rivais.html

It’s Thanksgiving weekend.

This is the time we give thanks to the Lord for all of our blessings.

My guys from Flamengo are out of the running for the Serie A title.

Mengao is still in the hunt for a Copa Libertadores spot.

Timao and Gigante de Colina have a real shot at winning the whole enchilada.

Fluminense has an outside chance to win but both Corinthians and Vasco hav e to lose by a bunch.

Timao and Gigante de Colina is a plus sixteen while Flu is only a plus ten.

Mengao sits in sixth place with 57 points.

Sao Paulo is in seventh place with 56 points.

Internacional and Figueirense each have 57 points however Colorado and Po-de-arroz have 15 wins compared with Rubro-Negro’s fourteen.

On Sunday Flamengo battles Internacional in our house.

We have to win this sucker.

Corinthians takes on Figueirense.

Vasco has a hot date with Fluminense.

Ronaldinho Gaucho our top scorer has not found the back of the net since September 21st.

This is killing us.

The daily double from Robin Van Persie sent the guys through to the knockout stage of the Champions League.

Arsenal won 2-1 over Borussia Dortmund.

My Gunners gave up a late goal in the 92nd minute but we were never in danger of losing this sucker.

It sure looks like the guys are finding their stride.

The pieces are starting to gel.

RVP has scored 30 goals on the season.

This is the second straight double for Robin Van Persie.

The other match of interest saw Barcelona beat AC Milan 3-2.

The Catalans twice took the lead only to lose it to the Italian side.

This puppy was a dogfight.

Messi, Xavi, and own goal by Milan’s Mark Van Bommel were the difference in the match.

Barca won Group H.

Chelsea lost to Bayer Leverkusen 2-1.

The Blues are in danger of not making it out of Group E.

My Gunners won Group F with 11 points.

Second place belongs to Marseille with seven points.

Olympiacos is third with six points.

Second place is up for grabs.

Barcelona won Group H with 13 points.

AC Milan is second with eight points.

In Group E Bayer Leverkusen is top dog with nine points.

Chelsea is second with eight points.

Third place sits Valencia with eight também.

It will come down to this for the Blues.

Chelsea –Valencia match on Tuesday December 6th will decide who advances to the knockout stage of the Champions League.

Arsenal, Barca, and AC Milan are through to the next round.

Once again Argentinos started out playing like crap. Argentina fell behind early 1-0 when Colombia’s Dorlan Pabon ripped the twines in the 44th minute.

That’s the way it stayed until Lionel Messi finally got off the schnid. He nailed an empty netter in the 60th minute give Argentina the 1-0 lead.

Mate Jose Sosa fired a great cross into the box.

Colombia’s keeper David Ospima miss played the cross and this allowed Messi an open shot on goal.

Argentina salted this puppy away in the 84th minute.

Messi fired a rocket to mate Gonzalo Higuain. Higuain ripped a shot that was kicked away by Ospima. Argentina’s Sergio Aquero tucked the rebound into the back of the net.

Game, set, and match to Argentina.

This was not a convincing win for one of the better clubs in the world.

Messi said this- “It was hard. We did not deserve to go one goal behind to the opponents, as they were not better than us.

“We wanted to forget about the tie against Bolivia [1-1 draw on Friday]. That was very hard for us and I think we did.

“Sometimes you can play better, and other times you have to fight harder. This game was one of those days.”

Higuain added- “We wanted to win. We were very low after the game on Friday and we promised to do better here.

“It was a great match, very difficult to play at a demanding venue, but we improved our performance in the second half and did it.

“Now, we have six months to try to find our best shape. The qualifiers are long and we made a good step today.”

Chile knocked out Paraguay 2-0.

Ecuador shut out Peru 2-0.

Venezuela edged Bolivia 2-1.

Now it’s off for six months and then back to the WC qualifying.

Uruguay sits atop the heap with seven points.

Argentina is second with seven points.

Uruguay is a plus six while Argentina is a plus three.

Venezuela is third with seven points but they are a zero plus minus.

Fourth place belongs to Ecuador with six points.

Chile sits in fifth place with six points

The Chileans are a minus three.

Colombia and Paraguay each have four points however the Colombians are a plus minus zero so they sit in sixth place.

Paraguay is a minus three and have seventh place all to themselves.

Peru is eight with three points.

Bolivia brings up the butt end of the table with point.

On Tuesday Argentina battles Colombia.

Ecuador has a hot date with Peru.

Chile-Paraguay.

Venezuela- Bolivia.

Brasil shut out Egypt 2-0 in a friendly on Monday.

The guys played very well.

Jonas hit the daily double to lead Brasileiros to the win.

Coach Menezes rested most of the big stars.

He started Hulk, Jonas, and Cesar up front.

Diego was in net and Alves, Luiz, Silva on the back line.

Brasil seemed out of it until Hulk fired a long-range bomb on goal.

This woke the guys up.

Brasil is the host nation for the 2014 World Cup so they don’t have to go through the grind of qualifying.
