Fluminense is the Champ. Flu TCB on Sunday. Tricolor was top dog from the 25^th week of the season on. Flu kicked ass and took names on the other hand Flamengo stunk the joint out.

Chief idiot Patricia Amorim ran Mengao into the ground. It took her only one year to destroy the 2009 champion.

Way to garoto.

At least we didn’t get the heave-hoe.

Vitoria, Guarani, Goias, and Gremio Prudente are sent packing.

Cruzeiro finished two points behind Fluminense.

Raposa defeated Palmeiras 2-1 in the final match season.

Flu’s win was by a razor thin margin.

Fluminense had 71 points.

Cruzeiro had 69.

Corinthians was third with 68.

Coritiba, Figueirense, Bahia, and America-MG were promoted to the Campeonato.

Brasileiro futebol is off until mid January.

Mengao needs a major overhaul.

Start at the top.

Fire Patricia Amorim’s ass now.

She has ruined a very good side.

Rubro-Negro two of their best players this Year Adriano and Vagner Love.

No wonder Flamengo stunk to high heaven.

Mengao scored 41 goals in 38 matches.

This sucks big time.

Our “D” on the other hand was okay.

Rubro-Negro gave up 44 goals.

Only six teams gave up less goals.

We missed Bruno in goal but the real lack was on the offensive end.

Flamengo was totally offensive this year.

We needed a close pin to watch Flamengo.

There is one axiom in sports if you can’t scored you can’t win and if you can’t stop em you won’t win também.

Rubro-Negro needs to shore up the “D” and please get a real striker not an over the hill bum.

Mengao has hot date with Cruzeiro at Volta Ronda on Sunday.

This is a must win for Flamengo. We are on the verge of getting the heave-hoe. Rubro-Negro is currently in 13^th place with 40 points.

We are only three points outta the drop-dead zone.

Flamengo is pretty good on the road.

Rubro-Negro has nine wins and only three losses on the road.

Our home record sucks big time.

Eleven losses and only six wins have killed us all season.

Usually Mengao is almost impossible to beat at home.

Flamengo is akin to the EPL side Arsenal.

My Gunners sink at home and are great on the road.

Both sides are mirror images of each other except that my Gunners are contenting for a title while my Flamengo heart is getting stomped on.

I am not a happy Flamenguista.

I am not all that thrilled with my Gunners either.

Vitoria battles Internacional.

Colorado is currently in 8^th place with 54 points.

This is way off the pace for the Campeonato.

Cruzeiro is still the hunt for the Campeonato.

Raposa is in third place with 63 points.

This is two points behind league leader Fluminense.

It is all about the title.

You know this sucker will be a dogfight.

The balance of the season hangs on this match for Rubro-Negro.

Win and we assured of sticking around the Campeonato.

If Flamengo losses it will be a crap shoot for us stay afloat.

Mengao may have saved their pathetic season. Flamengo finally won. Rubro-Negro defeated Guarani-SP 2-1.

This was a mega important win for Rubro-Negro.

Goals by Renato and Diego Mauricio led the Boo-Flamengo to the win.

The win gives Flamengo 43 points.

Renato opened up the scoring by dialing up a long-range bomb off a free kick in the 2^nd minute.

The ball was squeezed between the keepers out stretched hand and the top left post.

Burge tied this sucker up in the 13^th minute.

Baiano nailed a close range header off a corner kick to tie this baby up at one all.

Mengao didn’t quit.

Flamengo scored in the 31^st minute.

Mauricio slipped behind the Guarani “D”. He dialed up a close range rocket that ripped the keeper’s Emerson’s head and hand off to give us 2-1 lead.

Game, set, and match to Mengao.

The victory may have moved Flamengo past the drop-dead zone.

A diretoria fez promoção, o técnico convocou, a torcida correspondeu e os jogadores, apesar do nervosismo, não decepcionaram. Pior para o Guarani, que, derrotado por 2 a 1, agora se vê à beira do  rebaixamento. Queda que o Flamengo, com 43 pontos, já começa a olhar como uma ameaça distante.

No mesmo dia e horário, o Guarani pega o Grêmio no Brinco de Ouro. Depois de enfrentar um time que luta para ir à Libertadores, o Bugre fecha o Brasileiro no Rio, contra o Fluminense, que sonha com o título. O último adversário do Flamengo é o Santos, que não tem nada a ganhar ou perder.

Mengao snatched a tie from the jaws of defeat. Petkovic scored in the 86^th minute to save Flamengo’s bacon.

Rubro-Negro and Gremio tied at two all.

This was one of those back and forth affairs.

Douglas opened the scoring for Gremio. He beat the entire Mengao “D” to the box. Douglas junked right and went left. He flat out beat the keeper Marcelo Lomba in the 9^th minute.

Flamengo scored the equalizer in the 33^rd minute. Leo Moura did a Dipsy do past the helpless Gremio defender. Moura fired a great pass into the box. Kleberson nailed the one timer past the keeper to level this baby at one all.

Jonas bounced a tickler of a shot off the left post in the 50^th minute to give Gremio lead.

The entire Mengao “D’ was in shocked stunned silence.

Enter Petkovic in the 86^th minute to nail the equalizer and save our hides once again.

Mengao is now in 14^th place with 28 points.

This marks the second match in a row that we have scored more than one goal.

The offense is coming around but the “D” sucks big time.

Mengao has now scored five goals in two matches. This more than triples all the goals Rubro-Negro scored in the previous six matches.

More matches will played on Thursday so lets see how the dust settles before we Flamenguistas get too giddy.

Vitoria is taking on Avail and Fluminense has a hot date with Atletico-MG.

Vitoria has 28 points entering into Thursday’s contest. Avai has 25.

Atletico-MG has 21 points.

For much of the match Mengao played like they always do. It was pure garbage to watch. In a matter of a blink of an eye both Flamengo and Vitoria had a goal fest late in the second half.

Both sides erupted for four goals from the 70^th to the 84^th minutes.

My guys from Arsenal hung on to defeat Celtic 3-2. The Gunners jumped out to a huge 3-0 lead then hung for dear life to beat the never die, never give Scottish side Celtic.

Arsenal rung up the cash register three times before Celtic knew what hit them.

Carlos Vela ripped the twines in the 3^rd minute.

Mate Theo Walcott set this baby up with a great cross right into the teeth of the goalmouth.

Gunners Bacary Sagna long-range salvo from just outside the box ripped the twines in the 45^th minute.

In the 51^st, minute Samir Nasri nailed a zinger from dead center of the box to give us a 3-0 lead then all hell broke loose in the final twenty-one minutes.

In a span of 12 minutes, Celtic almost pulled a rabbit out of their hat.

A dumb take down by Jack Wilshere in the 69^th gave the Scottish side hope.

Georgios Samaras stepped up to the PK spot.

Shank big time right over the top of the cross bar was the difference in the match.

Daryl Murphy hit for pay dirt in the 73^rd minute and Ki Sung Yueng ripped the twines in the 82^nd minute for the final score 3-2 Arsenal.

Celtic almost pulled it out but they missed it by that much.

Arsenal needs to work on not letting teams back into the match after jumping out a huge lead.

Avai had a real chance to move up the table. Instead, Leao da Ilha tied Atletico-Mg nil-nil.

Galo was down two men and yet they hung on for the tie.

This was a huge save for Atletico-MG.

Galo should have lost big time but Avai came up firing blanks.

Vasco put it all together. Gigante de Colina blasted Atletico-GO 2-0.

Nilton hit for the daily double for Vasco.

He scored in the 33^rd minute on a wicked right-angled shot that ripped the twines.

Nilton scored again in the 53rd minute when mate Fumagalli penetrated the box. Fumagalli hit Nilton with a perfect pass.

Nilton ripped the twines.

Game, set, and match to Vasco.

This was a huge win for Gigante de Colina.

The win moves Vasco to 12^th place in the table.

Gigante de Colina has 13 points.

Gremio Prudente and Vitoria tied nil-nil.

Sunday we have some huge matches taking place.

Sao Paulo is rumbling, bumbling, stumbling out of the gate.

Sao Paulo has now dropped two matches in a row since the campeonato returned to action on July 14^th.

The World Cup break has been very unkind to the boys from Tricolor.

Vitoria flat out took names and kicked butt in 3-2 win over Sao Paulo.

Both Vitoria and Sao Paulo were tied one all at the break.

Leao then scored two goals in quick succession to take a 3-1 lead.

Tricolor added a goal late midway in the second half.

Sao Paulo is now in deep trouble.

Sure, this is only the ninth match of the season.

There are 28 matches left however if Sao Paulo continues to play this way it be a long season.

Vitoria opened up the scoring in the 13^th minute. Elkeson nailed a perfect header into open net for a 1-0 Leao lead.

Rogerio Ceni never had a chance.

A great crossing ball into the goalmouth by mate Egidio set up this goal.

Tricolor found the equalizer in the 36^th minute.

Jean fired a low rocket from just outside the top of the box into the back of the net.

Then Vitoria took the match by the throat.

Leao scored in the 47^th and 57^th minutes to salt this baby away.

Vitoria has now leap frogged all the way to eighth spot in the table with 12 points.

Sao Paulo is now in tenth place with 11 points.

Tricolor headman Ricardo the clown Gomes warned his side that Vitoria would take great advantage of their home turf. Leao did.

Both sides complained the pitch was a cow field. It stunk to high heaven after the rains hit Salvador in recent days.

Antes mesmo de a bola rolar no Barradão, os jogadores do São Paulo reclamaram do estado do gramado. Por conta das chuvas que atingiram Salvador nos últimos dias, a grama estava bem molhada e barrenta em alguns pontos. The torrid rains in Salvador threw a wet blanket on both Flamengo and Vitoria on how they played. It was more like a mud bog or better yet Noah, how long can you treed water?  

Globo Esporte had this to say about the horrible conditions on the pitch and how it affected the play- Na estreia do terceiro uniforme, azul e amarelo, o Flamengo “remou”, “remou”, mas acabou morrendo na praia ao sofrer o gol de empate do Vitória aos 40 minutos do segundo tempo, no ‘mar revolto’ que era o gramado do Barradão, alagado pelo temporal que castigou a capital baiana. Vestindo a nova roupa em homenagem ao remadores que fundaram o clube, em 1895, Vagner Love marcou, de barriga, o gol carioca. Elkeson, de falta, foi o responsável pelo empate por 1 a 1.

UOL added these words of wisdom-A técnica ‘perdeu’ para a água, mas Flamengo e Vitória conseguiram apresentar um espetáculo muito emocionante, na medida do possível, e empataram em 1 a 1 neste sábado, no Barradão, pela segunda rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro. O gol dos cariocas foi anotado por Vagner Love e Elkeson igualou perto do apito final.

Flamengo drew first blood in the 3^rd minute. Adriano flicked a perfect pass into the goalmouth. This forced Vitoria keeper Vinicius to come off his line to stop the pass. This allowed Vagner Love to nail the winner to put Flamengo up one nil.

Rubro-Negro held on to the lead until the 80^th minute. Leao was awarded a free kick from just outside the top of the box. Elkeson ripped home a deadly laser that beat Mengao keeper Bruno dead top shelf left to level this sucker at one all.

Bruno got his paws on the ball but it wham bam into the back of the net.

We had a chance to win but a stupid foul cost us the match.

Mengao is now zero wins, zero losses, and two ties.

This stinks.

This is not the way to start a defense of the Campeonato.

I don’t care about how bad it rained or how bad the pitch was. It still comes down to stupid play and the team not being prepared to play.

On a side note, Mengao decided to use a different uniform. It looked stupid. The headman also made some key changes to the lineup in instead of speed he decided to go with strength. Little good that did. We tied

Já o Fla, além da novidade no uniforme, apresentou mudanças táticas promovidas por Rogério Lourenço. Rômulo e Maldonado foram barrados. Toró e Michael entraram com a missão de dar mais velocidade no meio de campo. De resto, ele optou pela  força máxima. Álvaro, recuperado de problema na panturrilha direita, ficou no banco.

Mengao has a huge match this Thursday in Santiago in the return leg of the Copa Libertadores.
Rubro-negro lost 3-2 at Maracanã so we need to win 2-0.

A semana não foi boa para cariocas nem baianos, que se encontram em situações delicadas na Libertadores e na Copa do Brasil, respectivamente. Por isso, ambas as equipes entraram em campo pressionadas e com algumas alterações. Contudo, a novidade que mais chamou atenção foi a camisa do Flamengo.
