Author: Nacional B in Argentina is getting down to the butt end of the season. Six points separate the top four clubs. Yes, Martha there will be a dogfight to see who gets the top two spots. These two sides will get promoted to the big boys league in Argentina.
Rosario Central is the main man with 68 points. River Plate and Instituto de Cordoba each has 66 points. Quilmes has 62 points.
There are four matches left. So points are at a premium for the top guys. Losses and ties will do Los Canallas, Los Millionaires, La Gloria, and El Cervecero more harm than good and could cost them big time.
The Copa Libertadores resumes play tonight. Boca Juniors takes a little trip to Rio de Janeiro to battle Fluminense. Los Xeneizes has a 1-0 lead on aggregate. An away goal by Boca will kill Flu out right.
Corinthians and Vasco will take to the pitch in Sao Paulo to settle this war. Both sides are nil-nil on aggregate.

West Ham has booked their spot in the EPL for next season. In a wild and wooly match played at Wembley by the Hammers and Seasiders, West Ham came away with a crazy 2-1 win over Blackpool.
The Hammers scored first. Carlton Cole gave West Ham the early 1-0 lead in the 35th minute. Matty Taylor set up this sucker off the counter attack. Taylor raced up the pitch and laid off a great thread the needle pass to mate Cole.
The Seasiders responded in the 48th minute. Thomas Ince knocked home the winner from the left wing.
Blackpool had their chances in the second half but they couldn’t push the rock past the goal line.
West Ham scored the winner in the 87th minute. The Hammers put a ton of pressure on the Seasiders defenders in the box. A huge scramble ball resulted in a put back goal off a missed shot by Ricardo Vaz Te.
Vaz Te said this about the match winner, “It’s a great effort form the lads,” Vaz Te told Sky Sports. “It’s not about the goal – we showed great character. I think we deserved it. We’re a Premier League side and we deserved to go up.
”It’s terrific really. I feel like I have been blessed with a second chance in my career and it’s great to be here.”
Sam Allardyce West Brom headman had this to say, “Blackpool were easily as good as us today but it is about taking your chances and no more so that today,” he said. “We managed to swing it just at the death. It’s 49 games and it’s the first one we’ve won in the last few minutes this season. I’m sure (owners) David Sullivan and David Gold will be very happy.”
This is the second time Allardyce has led a club back to the Promised Land.
Chelsea has risen from the dead. The Blues were down 1-0 late in the match against Bayern Munich. Didier Drogba nailed a later header in the 88th minute to send this sucker into extra time. Drogba then committed a mortal sin in the first extra time. His foul on Franck Ribery set up the possible bone headed play of the match in the 93rd minute. Arjen Robben wore the choke collar very well. Robben’s choke city cost the DER FCB the Champions League. Neither side could score in extra time. Tied at one all the Blues and DER FCB went to the dreaded PK shootout. Bayern Munich missed two crucial PK shots to give Chelsea the chance to win it. Didier Drogba nailed the PK and this sent the Blues to the Promised Land. Chelsea wins in a wild one 4-3 in the PK shootout.
Futebol season is over in Europe but the regular season is heating up in South America.
Spurs fans are heart broken by Chelsea’s win. Tottenham is out of the Champions League.

The Champions League will be happening later today in Germany. Bayern Munich and Chelsea will duke it out to see who will wear the crown. No one expected the Blues and Der FCB to be in the finals. The idiot pundits said it would be Real Madrid and Barcelona. Both of these Spanish giants were sent packing by the dogs. You gotta love the dogs. Now the dogs will fight to see who will be the top dog.
This dogfight will be at Munich’s house. The Germans are expected to win but don’t count out Chelsea. I will be pulling for the Blues to win this sucker.
Watch out for Didier Drogba. He will be the key.
In the Copa Libertadores Boca Juniors got by Fluminense 1-0 at Los Xeneizes house. Pablo Mouche nailed the winner in the 51st minute. Velez Sarsfield defeated defending Copa champion Santos 1-0. Mauro Ivan Obolo scored in the 35th minute. Peixe lost in El Fortin house.
The return legs will be played in Brasil. Both Brasileiros sides just to need score and hold Boca and Velez Sarsfield scoreless and the trip to the semifinals is Peixe’s and Flu’s.
UOL wrote this about Fluminense 1-0 loss to Los Xeneizes. O primeiro lance de perigo da partida pertenceu ao Fluminense, numa boa trama do ataque, aos 11min. Rafael Moura fez boa jogada pela esquerda, cruzou para Wagner, que serviu Jean. O volante tricolor ganhou a jogada de Erbes e, por muito pouco, não abriu o placar. Dois minutos depois foi a vez de Rafael Sóbis escapar pela direita e cruzar para o xará Moura, que chegou atrasado e perdeu boa chance de marcar. O Boca só conseguiu responder aos 16min, num escanteio cobrado por Riquelme que Roncaglia escorou e obrigou Cavalieri a salvar com os pés.
A chance criada pelo Boca Juniors incendiou sua torcida e o time passou a ter controle do jogo. Aos 21min, Cvitanich recebeu cruzamento de Roncaglia e subiu sozinho no meio da defesa tricolor para cabecear com muito perigo, mas para fora, assustando o goleiro Diego Cavalieri. Aos 34min, o lateral Carlinhos tratou de complicar as coisas para o Fluminense ao colocar a mão na bola para impedir um contra-ataque argentino. O camisa 6 tricolor já havia recebido um cartão amarelo por falta infantil em Rivero e acabou expulso pelo árbitro colombiano José Buitrago.”
The difference in the match besides the goal was Carlinhos was given the heave-hoe and this act of stupidity cost Flu big time.
UOL has this to say about the Santos loss. “Neymar perdeu o duelo para o lateral direito improvisado, Peruzzi, que ameaçou o craque em tom de brincadeira antes da partida. O camisa 11 do Santos não conseguiu escapar da marcação quase individual do argentino, que ainda contava com o volante Cubero na sobra. Além de não render no ataque, o craque santista recebeu um cartão amarelo por simular uma falta.”

My guys from Flamengo defeated Americano-RJ 3-1 to advance to the semifinals of Taça Rio. Mengao finished atop Group A with 21 points. Rubro-negro will battle archrival Vasco in the semifinals. Gigante de Colina beat us in the semifinals of the Taça Guanabara.
Deivid lead the Flamengo attack with the daily double. Mate Kleberson added a tally of his own to lead the guys to the win.
UOL- “ fizeram o necessário para vencer o Americano. E com o 3 a 1 obtido neste domingo, a equipe rubro-negra manteve a ponta, evitou a hostilidade da torcida presente e, agora, enfrenta o rival Vasco na briga por um vaga na final do segundo turno do Estadual.
Após a eliminação precoce na Libertadores, o foco do Flamengo ficou todo voltado para o Carioca. Mas como já entrou em campo classificado, o time da Gávea se permitiu poupar suas estrelas: Ronaldinho Gaúcho (dores na perna direita), Vagner Love (dores no joelho direito), Léo Moura (dores no joelho direito) e Willians (coxa esquerda) ficaram de fora da partida.”
Vasco and Mengao will battle it out on Saturday. The winner will advance to the finals. Gigante de Colina defeated Flamengo 2-1 in the semi finals of Taça Guanabara.

Both Manchester clubs struggled big time in their first round matches in the Europa League. City gave up a goal in the 51st minute to lose to Sporting Lisbon 1-0.
Xandao cheeky back heel beat the Citizens keeper Joe Hart dead to rights. City played like crap. However the Citizens had a chance to get the equalizer in the final moments.
Man U on the other hand stunk the joint in a 3-2 loss to Atletic Bilbao at Old Trafford. The Rooney man scored twice but this was not enough. Sir Alex and the boys were down right bad against the Spanish side.
Los Leones completely outplayed Man U from start to finish. This is not your typical Sir Alex side. The Red Devils hearts are not into playing in the Europa League. Their play so far has confirmed this. The boys lost at home to Ajax 2-1 in the second leg and now to Atletic Bilbao 3-2 prove my point that Man U would rather go home and concentrate on the EPL.
Sir Alex and the boys only have one win at home in their last five matches in Champions League and Europa League play.
Man U didn’t play their best defenders. Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes, and Michael Carrick didn’t start. Only Carrick saw action when he came in for Chris Smalling in the 55th minute.
Smalling had to come out when he re injured his head wound suffered in England’s international friendly against the Netherlands last week.
My instincts guided by experience reveals that Man U and City would be bettered served if they did not participate in the Europe League after they bombed out in the Champions League group play.
The second leg matches will be played next week.
In Copa Libertadores play Santos defeated Internacional 3-1.
Fluminense defeated Argentina giant Boca Juniors 2-1 at Los Xeneizes house.
Boca has one tie and one loss in Group Four play.
Corinthians shut out Nacional 2-0.
So far in Group play the Brasileiros sides are playing very well but this can change on a dime.
Fluminense is top dog in Group Four.
Santos sits in second place in Group One.
Vasco is in second place in Group Five.
Peixe is in second place in Group Six.
My guys from Mengao battle Emelec late on Thursday.
Flamengo has one tie and sits in third place in Group Two.
Both Vanger Love and Ronaldinho Gaucho are going to have to score and hope that our crappy “D” will not let us down. Felipe can be a clown in goal at times.
UOL- O Flamengo sofreu esta semana com problemas de cabeça e coração. O goleiro Felipe sofreu pancada e foi parar no hospital. Renato Abreu está afastado com problemas cardíacos. E a lista de preocupações não acaba por aí. Joel Santana, então, terá que recorrer a um time remendado para a partida contra o Emelec-QUE às 19h30 desta quinta-feira, no Engenhão. Do outro lado, pelo menos, o rubro-negro encontrará um cenário animador: o adversário nunca venceu equipes brasileiras na Copa Libertadores.
Joel Santana encontra problemas para escalar o Flamengo desde o gol. Felipe levou uma pancada na cabeça na vitória sobre o Duque de Caxias e deixou a partida direto para o hospital. Ele recebeu alta no mesmo dia e passa bem, mas terá que ficar em repouso até o fim de semana. Paulo Victor será o substituto. Sem os lesionados Willians e Aírton, Joel aposta nos jovens Muralha e Luiz Antonio para ocupar as vagas entre os titulares.

The guys from Mengao were down 2-1 on aggregate. We had the precious away goal. All my guys needed to do was win by shut out and it’s on to the main draw of the Copa Libertadores.
Rubro-Negro delivered the knockout blow. Flamengo won 2-0 at Mengao’s house.
Goals by Leo Moura and Ronaldinho Gaucho saved our butts big time. The guys started out strong. Mengao applied the pressure of the outset. This gave us the win. Flamengo won 3-2 on aggregate.
UOL O Flamengo diminuiu um pouco da pressão, mas continuou assustando o Real Potosí. Bottinelli foi quem teve as melhores chances, com dois chutes perigosos. A equipe boliviana apenas se defendia. Já o Rubro-Negro perdia uma chance atrás da outra. Desta vez, Deivid chutou em cima do goleiro após bom passe de Luiz Antônio
Com tantas chances aparecendo, o Flamengo conseguiu abrir o placar. Ronaldinho Gaúcho cobrou uma falta da ponta direita para o meio da área. O lateral Léo Moura ignorou o penteado moicano e colocou a cabeça na bola para balançar a rede do Potosí: 1 a 0.
Na segunda etapa, o Flamengo seguiu com mais posse de bola, mas a procura para ampliar o placar não foi a mesma do primeiro tempo. A equipe rubro-negra tentou chegar à meta do Potosí com os chutes de longa distância. Renato assustou diversas vezes, mas sua pontaria não estava tão afiada. O time boliviano, por sua vez, resolveu sair mais para o jogo, principalmente após a entrada de Pol. No entanto, Felipe não chegou a tomar sustos.
Mengao will be in Group Two of the Copa Libertadores. Com a classificação, o Flamengo fará parte agora do Grupo 2 da fase de grupo da Libertadores. Os rivais desta chave serão Emelec-EQU, Lanús-ARG e Olímpia-PAR. O primeiro duelo rubro-negro nesta etapa será contra os argentinos, no próximo dia 15, em Buenos Aires-ARG. The play of Leo Moura was the main reason why the guys advanced to Group play in the Copa Libertadores. He has an assist in the first leg against Real Potosi. Moura’s goal got us off on the right foot. He dedicated the goal to his daughter.
Globo Esporte- Antes de a temporada começar, Léo Moura usou as entrevistas e também as redes sociais para dizer que este era o seu ano e que iria arrebentar. Depois de dar bela assistência para o gol de Luiz Antonio no jogo de ida, o lateral-direito, de 33 anos, marcou de cabeça o primeiro na vitória por 2 a 0 sobre o Real Potosí, nesta quarta-feira à noite. Foi o gol de número 40 do jogador com a camisa rubro-negra e apenas o terceiro de cabeça. E serviu como presente para a filha Isabella.

Mengao has to go to Leao da Ilha’s house.
This is another one of those must win matches for Rubro-Negro.
Flamengo is in a horse race with Corinthians, Sao Paulo, and Vasco for the top spot in the table.
Timao has 37 points.
Mengao has 36.
Sao Paulo 35 and Vasco 35.
Botafogo and Palmeiras are just off the pace.
Fogao has 34 points while Alviverde has 32 points.
The race is on.
Flamengo has two wins, one loss, and three draws with Avai.
UOL put it this way O Flamengo enfrenta o Avaí, na última partida antes de Ronaldinho se apresentar à seleção brasileira, que disputa o amistoso contra Gana, em Londres, dia 5 de setembro, apostando no talento do seu camisa 10 para encerrar a sequência de quatro jogos sem vitórias no Campeonato Brasileiro. Mengao had a chance to capture first place in the Brasileiros Serie A. Not on this day Flamengo was lucky to tie their arch rival Vasco nil-nil.
The continuous acts of stupidity haunt Rubro-Negro.
Welinton was given the heave-hoe in the 41st minute.
The act of brilliance almost cost Mengao big time.
The hero of the match was Felipe.
He stopped shot after shot to save Flamengo’s hide.
Corinthians lost to Palmeiras 2-1.
Vasco is now one point behind Mengao.
Flamengo has 36 points.
Gigante de Colina has 35.

O início do jogo foi eletrizante. O Vasco teve uma boa oportunidade logo aos quatro minutos, com Fagner, em um chute à direita do gol de Felipe. O Flamengo, por sua vez, respondeu de forma imediata, com Léo Moura chutando em cima de Fernando Prass, após belo passe de Ronaldinho. Alex Silva, aos 9 minutos, torceu o joelho esquerdo e foi substituído por Ronaldo Angelim. O time do técnico Ricardo Gomes, melhor na partida, obrigou Felipe a fazer duas boas defesas seguidas. A primeira, de Alecsandro após cruzamento de Fagner. Na cobrança do escanteio, Rômulo subiu demais e praticamente chutou com a cabeça, tamanha a força da cabeceada. O goleiro do Flamengo se esticou todo e evitou o gol vascaíno.

Mighty Timao has dropped two straight after starting out league play on a hot streak.
Corinthians stumbling in their last two matches has allowed my guys from Flamengo to creep within a point.
Timao has 28 points.
Mengao has 27 but lets remember Corinthians has a game in hand.
Sao Paulo started out the season on a hot streak também. Tricolor reeled off five straight wins before dropping three straight.
Sao Paulo is in third place with 25 points.
Rubro-Negro is the only undefeated club in the Seria A.
Yes, we have seven wins and six ties.
Flamengo is a plus 13.
Timao has a plus 13 também.
Mengao has a league high 26 goals.
Thank you Ronaldinho Gaucho.
He has ripped the twines nine times.
His mate Thiago Neves has found the mark five times.
Deivid hit the bulls eye five times.
Ronaldinho Gaucho is the making a huge difference this year.
Last year at this time Mengao was barely hanging on.
He is now learning how to be a team player instead of the star.
Gaucho’s head is in the right place not up his butt before he arrived in Mengao land in January.
On Wednesday night Flamengo Cruzeiro at Raposa’s house Arena do Jacare.
To keep pace with Corinthians the guy’s can’t let up in this sucker for we have Sao Paulo nipping at our heels também.

The Serie A heads back to the pitch on Wednesday and Thursday night.
My guys from Flamengo battle second place Sao Paulo at our friendly confines in Estadio Olimpico in Rio de Janeiro.
This is not our real house but it will do in pinch.
Deivid, Ronaldinho Gaucho, and Thiago Neves need to come up big against the Evil Empire.
Tricolor started out the season on tear winning their first five matches.
Then the wheels fell off the wagon for the Evil Empire.
Sao Paulo lost their last two in a row.
Tricolor was blown out by Timao 5-o and then Sao Paulo had their heads handed to them by Botafogo 2-0.
Mengao on the other hand is on a roll.
Flamengo is coming off a two straight wins.
Ronaldinho Gaucho has stepped up big time scoring three goals in our last two matches.
Deivid has scored twice for Mengao tamben.
We need to win this sucker.
A win over Sao Paulo will moves us further up the table.
Flamengo has a chance to move into the top five with a “W”.
