Mengao has two more matches before a month long break for World Cup play.

Flamengo battles Palmeiras on Wednesday in Sao Paulo and then we return home to battle Goias at Maracanã on Saturday.

These next two matches are of extreme importance to Rubro-Negro.

Mengao needs wins not draws or losses.

With Love on the way out in July, Flamengo needs the Love man to score a plethora of goals.

Mengao needs it now not a month from now.

Corinthians has 13 points.

This is a six point differential.

Sure, we made up 13 points in a little more than a month but this year is different.

First Andrade was the headman. Second Adriano was playing top flight futebol now he’s gone. Third, Patricia Amorim is the new Prez. She fired Andrade. Both Love and Adriano are gone.  Finally, Rubro-Negro has no firepower.

It could be a long season.

Now the idiot in chief Rogerio Lourenço has a new director of  player personal for Mengao. It is former Flamengo star Zico.

Little good this will do. We need players not some lackey who is going to kiss Patricia’s butt and do nothing.

Both Zico and Lourenço were Flamengo teammates.

Corinthians finds themselves the front-runners again. Timao was in the pole position this same time last year.

Corinthians wound up in tenth place.

Corinthians took to Santos 4-2.

Ceara is in second place with 11 points.

Third place belongs to Fluminense. Po-de-arroz took it Atletico-MG 3-1.

Sao Paulo is five points off the pace but remember Tricolor always gets off to a slow start due to their deep run in Copa Libertadores.

Sao Paulo has made it to the semi-finals.

Last year Tricolor was dumped in the quarterfinals and this resulted in Ramalho getting the axe.

Mengao has no excuse.

Amorim has lost two key players Adriano and Vagner Love. She let Andrade go too.

All Andrade did was led Rubro-Negro their sixth Campeonato.

No wonder we are in deep crap.

The season is young so we will see what happens.

Mengao again wasted a great opportunity to pick up a huge win at Maracanã against Gremio but in the end Flamengo ended up with a one all tie.

This is not good.

This gives Rubro-Negro one win, one loss, and three ties.

Mengao can not win at home nor on the road.

This stinks.

Mengao is in deep do-do.

Petkovic scored for Mengao in the 43^rd minute to give us a 1-nil lead.

Gremio scored in the 83^rd minute to level this sucker at one all

Rodrigo nailed the perfect shot to give Gremio a huge one point.

If Flamengo continues to play this way, we will surely wind up in the second division.

Vagner Love will go after July 10^th.

This will leave Flamengo no fire power what so ever.

Both Patricia Amorim and headman Rogerio Lourenço need to go.

These two clowns are the architects of this disaster that is about be heaped upon Mengao.

We are four games into the 2010 Campeonato de Brasil and Corinthians is top dog with 10 points. Santos and Cruzeiro are tied for second with eight points.

Mengao is in eleventh place with five points.

Sao Paulo is seventh place with seven points.

At this point last year Flamengo was playing like crap. Rubro-Negro was near the bottom of the table but this year is totally different.

The idiot Prez Patricia Amorim took over the reigns in December 2009 and we have lost two of our top players and  she fired headman Andrade who led us to the title last year.

Mengao escaped with a 3-1 win over Gremio-Prudente at Maracanã.

Several key players were missing- O primeiro passo ocorreu neste domingo. Mesmo sem Adriano, com dores na coxa, e ainda apresentando falhas defensivas, o time foi superior ao adversário e venceu com gols de Vagner Love (2) e Juan, subindo para o sétimo lugar. Agora, no mesmo palco, os compromissos serão contra o Fluminense, nesta quarta-feira, às 19h30, e Grêmio, no sábado, às 18h30.

Flamengo jumped out an early 1-0 lead just before half time.

Love PK ripped the twines in the in the 47^th minute of the first half to be exact.

Camacho made a great run into the box. This forced the Gremio-Prudente defender to tackle his butt.

Instant presto PK to Love.

The love child strikes for gold.

Gremio-Prudente nailed the equalizer in the 48^th minute to tie this sucker up at one all. Wanderley received a great thru ball from mate Henrique Dias.

He flat out beat Bruno dead to rights. Bruno tried a half assed kick save. Not. Buda bing, Buda boom the ball crawls over the goal line and into the back of the net.

Juan saved Rubro-Negro’s bacon when he found the back of the net in the 87^th minute.

Juan took it straight to the rack. He lifted the ball over the defenseless keeper top shelf left near post.

Way to go garoto.

Vagner Love sealed the deal for Mengao on a PK shot in the 89^th minute for a 3-1 win.

Diego Mauricio made the Gremio-Prudente defense look like schoolgirls.

Again, this forced the take down in the box.

By the way, this was a great WWF move by Gremio-Prudente defender.

Love hit the daily double via the PK route.

Flamengo is not playing very well.

Mengao has huge match on Sunday against Gremio Barueri at Maracanã. We have two ties and Flamengo really needs a kick butt win today.

Both Adriano and Vagner Love need to pedal it into the next gear.

Mengao cannot afford to fall too far off the pace.

Both Botafogo and Palmeiras won on Saturday.

Fogao and Alviverde is a top the table with seven points.

Corinthians have a perfect six points out of six possible points so far.

Timao battles Fluminense today.

Po-de-arroz has one win and one loss.

Sao Paulo is struggling big time but this is par for the course for Tricolor. Sao Paulo has made to the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores.

The Copa will resume after the World Cup is done.

Watch out for the evil empire can now play their best players when Sao Paulo takes on Internacional.

After Sunday’s play, Campeonato do Brasil has four more matches until the break for World Cup on June 6.

Then it is back to the daily grind.

Rubro-Negro needs to get off to a hot start if we are going to have a chance of a two-peat.

Mengao dug themselves into a huge hole. Sure, we won the battle but lost the war.

Flamengo defeated Universidad de Chile 2-1 in Santiago, Chile but Mengao lost on away goal difference.

Both Adriano and Vagner Love tickled the twines but Chile’s lone goal in the 63^rd killed Flamengo.

Globo Esporte put it this way-O império caiu, é verdade. Mas foi de pé. Maltratado e massacrado por ofensas como reino do colesterol dias antes do duelo, o Flamengo não conseguiu o improvável. Venceu por 2 a 1 o Universidad de Chile, em Santiago, mas despediu-se da Taça Libertadores.

Universidad de Chile ripped Rubro-Negro at Maracanã 3-2. This was the difference. Sure both sides were tied four all on goals but that pesky three away goals sent Mengao packing.

O Rubro-Negro precisava vencer por dois gols de diferença, ou por um a partir de 4 a 3. E fez um ótimo primeiro tempo. Em jogada combinada de Love e Adriano, o camisa 9 abriu o placar. No segundo tempo, em um dos únicos vacilos defensivos, Montillo fez jogada genial e empatou. Em jogada igualmente brilhante, Adriano fez 2 a 1. Era pouco.

Bruno made some really great saves to keep Flamengo in the match.

At one point Bruno looked like a sitting duck in shooting gallery.

Adriano played great and so did Love.

The Emperor and Love played like they were on a mission. The Chile coach called them both fat.

Adriano and Vagner Love both said screw you. We will show you how good we both are.

Rubro-Negro President Patricia Amorim needs to get axed. Since this idiot took over Mengao, she has taken my beloved Flamengo into the toilet.

Adriano’s contract ends next June 30^th. AC Roma is courting The Emperor. Adriano has a huge choice to make. Stay in Rio or play in Italy and compete for the Champions League crown.

For many this is a no brainer. Pay whatever you need to keep Adriano.

We are two matches into the Campeonato do Brasil and just like last year Corinthians sits atop the table with a perfect six points.

Just like last year, Mengao started out the season playing like crap.

Flamengo should have won against Sao Paulo and Vitoria but we gave up two late goals that cost us dearly.

We have two ties and Rubro-Negro is currently in 13^th place.

Sao Paulo is in the same boat.

Tricolor has a tie and a loss.

Last year Sao Paulo was near the bottom of the table until a late run allowed Tricolor to finish second.

Sao Paulo is currently playing in the Copa Libertadores.

This really takes it out of a team.

Just ask Flamengo.

Rubro-Negro lost to Univerisdad de Chile at Maracanã 3-2 on last Wednesday.

Mengao has the second leg in Santiago, Chile on Thursday.

We stink on the road.

So, you might as well stick a fork in Flamengo’s chances of advancing to the next round of the Copa.

The torrid rains in Salvador threw a wet blanket on both Flamengo and Vitoria on how they played. It was more like a mud bog or better yet Noah, how long can you treed water?

Bruno got his paws on the ball but it wham bam into the back of the net.

We had a chance to win but a stupid foul cost us the match.

Mengao is now zero wins, zero losses, and two ties.

This stinks.

This is not the way to start a defense of the Campeonato.

I don’t care about how bad it rained or how bad the pitch was. It still comes down to stupid play and the team not being prepared to play.

On a side note, Mengao decided to use a different uniform. It looked stupid. The headman also made some key changes to the lineup in instead of speed he decided to go with strength. Little good that did. We tied

Já o Fla, além da novidade no uniforme, apresentou mudanças táticas promovidas por Rogério Lourenço. Rômulo e Maldonado foram barrados. Toró e Michael entraram com a missão de dar mais velocidade no meio de campo. De resto, ele optou pela  força máxima. Álvaro, recuperado de problema na panturrilha direita, ficou no banco.

Rubro-negro lost 3-2 at Maracanã so we need to win 2-0.

A semana não foi boa para cariocas nem baianos, que se encontram em situações delicadas na Libertadores e na Copa do Brasil, respectivamente. Por isso, ambas as equipes entraram em campo pressionadas e com algumas alterações. Contudo, a novidade que mais chamou atenção foi a camisa do Flamengo.
