Today will be a hodge podge of stuff to talk about. We’re in an international break until October 18^th.

Yet, many of the top clubs in the world will see their best players participating the European Championships.

This is nuts.

My Gunners have eleven players in the idiotic event.

Here’s a list of the Arsenal players: Bacary Sagna, Abou Diaby, Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, Tomas Rosicky, Jack Wilshere, Andrey Arshavin, Emmanuel Eboue, Marouane Chamakh, Henri Lansbury, and Wojciech Szcesny.

I wonder how many of our guys will get hurt?

This doesn’t include Fernando Torres, Wayne Rooney, and whole slew of other top-flight stars.

This is pure stupidity.

The players need to stand up and go on strike.

Mengao has a hot date with Atletico-MG.

Flamengo needs to win this sucker.

We are playing in Rio de Janeiro.

Although it is not Maracanã, we are playing at home- Jornalista Mario Filho.

If Mengao doesn’t win, the Flamenguistas will be restless and mad as hell.

Mengao is jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Flamengo pulled a rabbit out of their hat to achieve a one all tie with Botafogo.

This tie kept us just above the heave-hoe zone.

O técnico Silas, sem o respaldo do ex-diretor executivo Zico, acabou demitido pela diretoria rubro-negra. Vanderlei Luxemburgo, que recentemente foi mandado embora do Atlético-MG, é o mais cotado para assumir o cargo. A decisão já tinha tomada e o treinador foi comunicado após uma reunião com a presidente do clube, Patrícia Amorim.

Flamengo stunk the joint out in a 1-0 loss at Pacaembu against Corinthians.

This was worse than pathetic.

It was down right horrible.

Globo Esporte was very kind to Flamengo- Não teve o mesmo sabor ou valor de um triunfo pela Libertadores, mas os corintianos deixaram o Pacaembu com uma pontinha de gosto de vingança. Diante de um Flamengo inexpressivo no ataque, diferente daquele que calou o mesmo estádio há três meses com Adriano e Vagner Love, o Timão dominou amplamente o “Clássico do Povo” e venceu por 1 a 0. Elias, em um belo chute da entrada da área, marcou o único gol do jogo (assista aos melhores momentos no vídeo ao lado).

Corinthians remained one point behind league leader Fluminense.

O resultado faz o Corinthians chegar aos 28 pontos, apenas um abaixo do Fluminense, que derrotou o Grêmio, em Porto Alegre. O Timão mantém o ótimo retrospecto jogando no Pacaembu nos últimos meses. A última derrota aconteceu em novembro do ano passado, quando foi batido pelo Náutico, também pelo Brasileirão.

This was a close affair. Sure, Timao had a difficult finding the back of the net but Mengao was worse.

Flamengo maybe mounted two at most three serious attacks but other than that it was lets play paddy cake with Corinthians.

Elias wove his way thru three Flamengo defenders at the top of the box.

He stopped at the half moon and fired.

Elias fired a low ball that beat keeper Marcelo Lomba to the right post.

Ceara lost to Internacional 2-1.

The loss dropped Vovo to third place.

Fluminense got by Santos 1-0.

The win vaulted Flu to second place in the table.

Corinthians has 21 bad boys.

Po-de-arroz has 19 points.

Ceara has 18 points.

Flamengo moved up one spot to fourth place with 15 points.

The race is on.

Sao Paulo has almost dropped outta sight.

Tricolor is buried in 13^th place.

Vasco is still in the danger zone.

Gigante de Colina is in 17^th place with nine points.

It is still very early in the season to ring up the white flag however; nine matches into the season there are some trends.

Timao started out very strong last year but by the end of the 2009 season Corinthians wound up in tenth place.

This year will be different for Timao.

Corinthians is strong this year.

Timao has more pieces in place and this will make them very dangerous.

All one has to do is look at the results.

Six wins, three draws, and zero losses.

Flamengo seems to have found a diamond in the rough with keeper Marcelo Lomba. Lomba has been playing lights since the murder Bruno was sent to prison.

The loss of Bruno, the drug addict Adriano, and Love may have motivated Petkovic and the rest to show us how good they can be.

Mengao has controlled the two last to matches.

Flamengo is now dictating the tempo and flow of the match thus forcing opponents to play our style of play.

This is upbeat and attacking.

Rubro-Negro needs another striker.

Other than Mengao is on the right path.

On Wednesday, Flamengo battles third place Avai.

This should be a battle royal.

We have some huge matches that place on Wednesday. Corinthians and Ceara each had 17 points.

These two sides will meet at Vovo house in Rei Pele.

Sao Paulo is taking on mid table Avai in Mouribi.

Tricolor cannot afford to lose this sucker.

If Sao Paulo loses and either Timao or Vovo win this will drop Tricolor further off the pace.

We are only seven matches into the season. There is lots of futebol to be played but eight out of ten times that side that gets off to a hot start will usually win the Campeonato.

Last year was the exception when Mengao came roaring back after a horrible start.

I don’t think this is going to happen this year.

Flamengo is missing the drug addict and drunk Adriano, the murder Bruno, and Vagner Love.

This year we may wind up at the bottom of the heap.

Lets see what happens after Rubro-Negro’s match against Botafogo on Wednesday.

I am sure hoping we play better than our last outing against Goias on June 6^th, which Mengao lost 2-1.

The funny thing is this Flamengo, Fogao, Palmeiras, and Cruzeiro each has nine points.

Flamengo has been playing crap before for the World Cup break on June 10^th.

Rubro-negro lost to Goias 2-1 at Maracanã.

This marked the last match Vagner Love played for Flamengo.

There is some really good news for us Flamenguistas. Ronaldinho Gaucho has reportedly has a verbal agreement to play for Flamengo.

This is almost a done deal according to several sources-ESPN and Globo Esporte.

President Patricia Amorim said it is almost a done deal.

Globo Esporte put it this way- A notícia divulgada pelo “Gazzetta dello Sport” de que o Milan estaria disposto a liberar Ronaldinho Gaúcho antes do fim de seu contrato deixou a presidente Patrícia Amorim animada. Ela disse, no início da noite desta terça-feira, na Gávea, que se esta situação for resolvida, são boas e reais as chances de o apoiador ser contratado pelo Flamengo. Apesar de dizer que não existe nada muito adiantado, a dirigente confirmou que já deu início a um projeto de marketing para bancar os salários do jogador.

Flamengo is currently in 9th place with nine points.

Fogao has nine points but are in the 8th spot due to a better goal difference.

Menago is a plus one while Botafogo is a plus 2.

Corinthians and Ceare are tied with 17 points each but Timao is the top dog with a plus seven compared to a plus six for Vovo.

Fluminense is third with 15 points.

Flu in third place is the big surprise so far in the Campeonato.

Sao Paulo sits in 6th place with 11 points.

Brasil Cameonato is back in full swing.

Mengao had a chance to move up the table but no! Rubro-Negro gave up two late second-half goals.

This sucks big time.

This win marked the first time Goias won at Maracanã in fourteen years.

Both teams played like crap. Menago was worse. Sure Flamengo was missing several key players but this is just an excuse. Lourenco needs to make sure the players are ready to play. This is his job.

Sure Lourenço made changes but they didn’t work.

O técnico Rogério Lourenço trocou o volante Maldonado, lento em campo, pelo meia Camacho. E logo aos 18 segundos o garoto rolou para Mezenga, que chegou atrasado e perdeu a primeira chance. O atacante rubro-negro tentou se redimir logo depois e, ao driblar Rafael Tolói e Wellington Saci, bateu cruzado para boa defesa de Calaça.

Then all hell broke loose.

The Mengao “D” fell apart.

Verdao scored in the 84^th and 87^th minutes to spell defeat for us.

Douglas dead on free kick from 35 yards out flat out beat Bruno top shelf right.

Wellington did the famous shirt tug on Hugo.

Yellow card and free kick resulted in the buda bing buda boom.

Otacilo Neto easily made his way thru the Flamengo “D.”

A juke right and then a side step left. Shot. Goal Neto.

Bruno never had a chance.

Bruno got his paw on the ball but he couldn’t keep the shot out.

Goias wins 2-1

This is not the way to enter the World Cup break.

This might cost Mengao a shot at the title.

This gives us two losses at home.

The Flamenguista nation is sad and sick all at the same time.

The good news is this.

Ronaldinho Gaucho and Riquelme may be headed to Flamengo.

Mengao finally found a way to win on the road. Palmeiras reject Vagner Love ripped the twines in the 88^th minute to lift Flamengo to an all-important 1-0 win over Palmeiras.

The star of game was Mengao keeper Bruno.

Bruno stopped three point blank shots on goal to preserve the bagel.

We need this sucker.

Rubro-Negro has two wins, one loss, and three ties.

This win many have saved our season.

We will see.

Bruno was on top of his game.

The Mengao defense sucked big time.

Flamengo played the famous Oh lay defense.

This almost cost us big time.

Bruno was the big eraser.

Both sides had their chances but Flamengo and Palmeiras fired blanks.

Globo Esporte reported that both sides made sloppy passes. True to a point but Mengao didn’t play “D.” Apesar da emoção no fim, a partida esteve longe de empolgar. Os dois times erraram muitos passes – nem Petkovic passou incólume -, e o Flamengo acabou vitorioso após suportar bem a pressão palmeirense no primeiro tempo e mostrar poder de reação no segundo.

Love’s shot had the Verdao keeper Marcos beat dead to rights.

Game, set and match to Flamengo.

This was a homecoming for Vagner Love.

Love played with Palmeiras last year.
