Lots of stuff to talk about today. Mengao took it to Botafogo 2-0.

Thiago Neves daily double led Flamengo into the Taca Rio semifinals.

Rubro-Negro has a 21 match-winning streak. Mengao has 15 points while Vasco has 16 points.

Both Mengao and Gigante da Colina are into the next round.

The season begins very shortly.

Lets see how well Flamengo does with the big boys.

In Group B Fluminense is top dog with 14 points. Second place belongs to Olaria. Olaria has 14 points but Flu has a plus six compared to Olaria plus five.

Liverpool took it to Man City 3-0. Andy Carroll hit the daily lotto for the Reds.

This may have stuck a fork in City’s season. Man City lost Carlos Tevez due a injured hammy. This happened in the first half.

City is now buried in fourth place with 56 points.

Spurs are three points out of the final Champions League spot.

The Blues have a game in hand and should finish third possibly as high second place depending if my Gunners don’t stink the joint out.

The big news coming out of Flamengo is this Ronaldinho Gaucho has signed with Rubro-Negro.

Finally the stupid idiots at the top signed a big time striker.

Mengao needs someone to find the back of the net.

Since Vagner Love and Adriano flew the coop last year we have been three strikers short of a six-pack.

Mengao came within a hair of getting sent packing.

Last year was a horrible season for Flamengo couldn’t find the back of the net with a cannon or a machine gun.

Fluminense is the Champ. Flu TCB on Sunday. Tricolor was top dog from the 25^th week of the season on. Flu kicked ass and took names on the other hand Flamengo stunk the joint out.

Chief idiot Patricia Amorim ran Mengao into the ground. It took her only one year to destroy the 2009 champion.

Way to garoto.

At least we didn’t get the heave-hoe.

Vitoria, Guarani, Goias, and Gremio Prudente are sent packing.

Cruzeiro finished two points behind Fluminense.

Raposa defeated Palmeiras 2-1 in the final match season.

Flu’s win was by a razor thin margin.

Fluminense had 71 points.

Cruzeiro had 69.

Corinthians was third with 68.

Coritiba, Figueirense, Bahia, and America-MG were promoted to the Campeonato.

Brasileiro futebol is off until mid January.

Mengao needs a major overhaul.

Rubro-Negro two of their best players this Year Adriano and Vagner Love.

No wonder Flamengo stunk to high heaven.

We missed Bruno in goal but the real lack was on the offensive end.

Rubro-Negro needs to shore up the “D” and please get a real striker not an over the hill bum.

Way to dodge a huge bullet guys. Mengao stunk the joint out in a 2-1 loss to Cruzeiro at Volta Redondo. It sure looked like we were in danger of getting the heave-hoe. Not this year. Flamengo is safe for now.

Depois de sair atrás no início do primeiro tempo, a equipe mineira conseguiu a virada e venceu por 2 a 1, em Volta Redonda. Apesar do revés, o time rubro-negro não tem mais como cair para a Série B.

Cruzeiro didn’t give up and scored two goals to give us another defeat.

This is sucks big time.

Raposa is in third place with 66 points.

Flu is in the pole position with 68 points.

Corinthians is in second place 67 points.

All Fluminense has to do is win their final match and the Campeonato is Po-de Arroz.

I am happy we are not getting thrown out but I am mad as hell at the idiots who took a championship club and ruined it in a matter of a year.

Mengao may have saved their pathetic season. Flamengo finally won. Rubro-Negro defeated Guarani-SP 2-1.

This was a mega important win for Rubro-Negro.

Goals by Renato and Diego Mauricio led the Boo-Flamengo to the win.

The win gives Flamengo 43 points.

Renato opened up the scoring by dialing up a long-range bomb off a free kick in the 2^nd minute.

The ball was squeezed between the keepers out stretched hand and the top left post.

Burge tied this sucker up in the 13^th minute.

Baiano nailed a close range header off a corner kick to tie this baby up at one all.

Mengao didn’t quit.

Flamengo scored in the 31^st minute.

Mauricio slipped behind the Guarani “D”. He dialed up a close range rocket that ripped the keeper’s Emerson’s head and hand off to give us 2-1 lead.

Game, set, and match to Mengao.

The victory may have moved Flamengo past the drop-dead zone.

Globo Esporte- Com dois gols na etapa inicial, Renato e Diego Maurício transformaram o dia da consciência negra em dia da ‘consciência rubro-negra’. A diretoria fez promoção, o técnico convocou, a torcida correspondeu e os jogadores, apesar do nervosismo, não decepcionaram. Pior para o Guarani, que, derrotado por 2 a 1, agora se vê à beira do  rebaixamento. Queda que o Flamengo, com 43 pontos, já começa a olhar como uma ameaça distante.

Rubro-Negro has Cruzeiro up next. Mengao travels to Volta Redonda. No próximo domingo, o time de Vanderlei Luxemburgo enfrenta o Cruzeiro, às 17h, em Volta Redonda. No mesmo dia e horário, o Guarani pega o Grêmio no Brinco de Ouro. Depois de enfrentar um time que luta para ir à Libertadores, o Bugre fecha o Brasileiro no Rio, contra o Fluminense, que sonha com o título. O último adversário do Flamengo é o Santos, que não tem nada a ganhar ou perder.

Jeez, guys give up the early goal. Play like garbage and then score in the 80^th minute to salvage a one all tie with archrival Vasco.

Lets play to see how close we can get to getting the heave-hoe.

This insanity was at its heights for Flamengo in the 26^th minute.

Maldonado turned the ball over. Wham bam Vasco took off down the other end of the pitch. Ze-Roberto led the charge down the left flank. He fired a great centering ball into the teeth of the Rubro-Negro goalmouth. Keeper Marcelo Lomba makes a challenge on the shot. The ball is just out of the reach of Lomba. Defender Welinton kicks the ball to Cesinha deposits the gift into the back of the net for 1-0 Gigante de Colina lead.

Globo Esporte put tis way-Aos 26 minutos, Maldonado errou a saída de bola. O Vasco a roubou. Nunes, escolhido para começar no lugar de Fellipe Bastos, com virose, tocou para Zé Roberto, esse sim, recuado como meia para ajudar Felipe na armação. O camisa 10 arrancou pela direita e centrou para a área. Welinton, que vinha na corrida, chegou tentando cortar a bola e a mandou em cima de Juan. A bola foi contra o próprio gol, no travessão, e voltou na medida para Cesinha tocar para as redes: Vasco 1 a 0.

The Keystone Cops are alive and well playing for Flamengo.

To make matters worse Dede was given the heave-hoe in the second half.

This was a brilliant display of futebol.

Don’t worry. Renato Abreu dialed up a long-range header missile in the 80^th minute to rescue the tie.

Mengao almost pulled out the win the 90^th minute. Diego Mauricio missed the back of the net by that much.

Vasco coach went bananas and was tossed out. O técnico vascaíno perdeu a cabeça e acabou expulso pela terceira vez na competição. Diego Maurício quase fez o gol da vitória no fim – Fernando Prass salvou e se contundiu, quase sendo substituído. O empate era mais merecido num clássico em que não houve superioridade gritante de nenhuma das equipes.

Mengao is still in the danger zone.

Globo Esporte had this to say about Mengao’s stupid play.

Na primeira vez em que Vasco e Flamengo disputaram o Clássico dos Milhões no Engenhão,  neste domingo, não houve vitória. A equipe vascaína, superior no primeiro tempo, fez 1 a 0, com Cesinha, mas não soube manter a vantagem na segunda etapa, principalmente após a expulsão do zagueiro Dedé, aos 19 minutos, punido pela dura dividida com Willians. Renato empatou de cabeça para os rubro-negros, e os dois times seguem no Brasileirão sem mudar a situação atual na tabela.

Em 12º lugar, com 42 pontos, o Vasco continua longe da briga por uma vaga no G-4. O Flamengo, em 13º, com 38, não consegue se afastar com boa margem de pontos dos clubes que ainda lutam contra o rebaixamento. Agora, o jeito é investir na 32ª rodada. Mas as partidas prometem ser difíceis. O Rubro-Negro receberá o Corinthians nesta quarta-feira. A equipe cruzmaltina encara o Vitória em Salvador. no Barradão, no próximo sábado.

Mengao did the unthinkable.

Flamengo shut out Internacional 3-0.

This was a huge win for Rubro-Negro.

The daily double for Deivid and a goal by Renato spelled doom for Colorado.

This was our first clean in many a moon.

Juan broke into the box however Internacional defender Derley pushed him in the back. IE ergo, a PK was awarded in the 14^th minute. Deivid nailed the PK to give Mengao a 1-0 lead.

Renato was fouled. He dialed up a long-range missile in the 38^th minute. Renato’s bomb flat out beat the keeper to the right post to make 2-0 Mengao.

Deivid nailed a header off a well-placed corner kick in the 46^th minute to make 3-0 Flamengo.

Game, set, and match to us.

With the win, Mengao moves into 13^th place with 37 points.

Flamengo is now nine points clear of the drop-dead zone.

Headman Luxemburgo is working on getting Mengao in shape. First Val Baiano hit the daily double the previous week and now Deivid did it this week.

Rubro-Negro started out like crap. The Flamenguistas turned against Flamengo. The PK by Deivid changed all of that and the big “MO” in the match.

O Flamengo começou o jogo muito mal. Deivid irritou a torcida com uma sequência de erros antes mesmo dos dez minutos. Ele não foi o único. Maldonado, Galhardo… o time começou nervoso, e o Inter aproveitou para dominar. Rondou a área uma, duas vezes. Nada muito perigoso.

Até que Juan cruzou alto para a área, sem perigo. A bola parou na mão de Renan, mas o árbitro Wilson Seneme viu um empurrão de Índio em Deivid dentro da área. Pênalti estranho, aos 14. Vanderlei mandou e o atacante acatou. Correu com tranquilidade, acertou o canto direito e comemorou o terceiro dele com a camisa do Flamengo.

Way to snatch a tie from the jaws of victory. Mengao was cruising to a sure fire 2-0 win over Avai.

But wait this gets really good.

The boo birds Flamengo gave up two second half goals in a span of six minutes.

Mengao fell apart and wound up with a lucky two all draw.

Leo Moura and David Braz both lost their heads and were given the heave hoe in the second half.

Leo Moura was given a second yellow card. Mate David Braz and Avai’s Rudnei got into a bitch-slapping match. Both were given the heave-hoe.

Já perto do fim do jogo, Renato Abreu se desentendeu com Rudnei. David Braz correu para tirar satisfações com o avaiano e foi atingido no rosto. O árbitro Evandro Rogério Roman resolveu por expulsar Rudnei e David. Logo depois, um torcedor do Flamengo invadiu o gramado para tentar agredir o juiz. Apartada a confusão, a bola rolou por mais dois minutos e o jogo acabou.

Mengao scored first.

In a classic tick, tack, doe passing display Flamengo ripped Leao da Ilha defense to shreds.

Val Baiano kissed the twines for an easy goal in the 14^th minute to give us 1-0 lead.

Baiano was the recipient of another great pass in the 16^th minute.

This led to an easy tap for a goal.

2-0 Mengao.

Then all hell broke loose and Mengao fell apart in the second half.

Globo Esporte had this to say about Rubro-Negro’s choker city- Dois jogos em um. No primeiro tempo o Flamengo passeou. E no segundo, só o Avaí conseguiu atacar. Mengao needs to win.

This is the utmost of importance if Flamengo wants to stay up with the big boys.

Avai is in 16^th place with 29 points.

Mengao has 33 points and sits in 14^th place.

If we lose this match, this will cost us dearly.

We are barely hanging on.

Mengao needs a life rope.

Last weeks win over Atletico-GO was Rubro-Negro’s first win in their last five matches.

Finally Mengao is scoring goals but Flamengo is giving them up by the boatload.

Rubro-Negro has scored ten goals and has given up ten goals.

The offense is coming around but the “D’ needs to be strengthened.

On Saturday Santos defeated Atletico-Paranaense 2-0.

Vasco tied with Gremio three all.

Sao Paulo defeated Gremio- Barueri 3-2.

It is time futebol players are stopped being treated like cattle. Players are no more than meat on the hoof for club owners and international federations. These owners and managers can use players however they want to.

Sure, players are paid great wages. At least the stars and many of the good players are paid handsomely but what is the price?

The price is very high.

The average player life span in futebol is maybe five to eight years.

These men have only a few years to many lots of money before their bodies begin to break down.

Yeah, I know clubs have taken out insurance policies to protect their property.

Cool, but what about player’s rights.

These federations and clubs force players to play upwards of 90-100 matches a year.

No wonder players like Wayne Rooney, Fernando Torres, Cesc Fabregas, and Robin Van Persie are broken down by the time they are 25 years old.

It is time players form a real union and start to demand proper medical care, insurance, and a limit on how many matches they can play each year.

I know it is really important to play for your country.

I can dig it but look at this fool why have all of these stupid friendly matches right after the World Cup has just concluded.

Use your freakin head for something besides a hat rack.

This makes as much sense as a fart in church.

It is time players refuse to play in these stupid and insane matches.

Futebol players need a Curt Flood to sacrifice his career for the good of the game and the players.

Until this happens, players will continue to go down like flies.

Pele played futebol from 1956 until 1977.

He played almost all of his career in Brasil.

Pele played for Santos from 1956-1974.

He played two years with the New York Cosmos before he quit in 1977.

Now a days players play in League play, Champions League, European Championships, International friendly and preseason matches all over the world.

Players like Pele and Maradona are the exception.

It is time for futebol players grow a set of balls and take on owners and FIFA management and tell them we have had enough of this crap.

Enough said.
