Way to go guys England snatched a sure draw from the jaws of victory against Ghana in an international friendly.

Andy Carroll was told by Fabio Capello dude you gotta curb your drinking. Carroll heeded Capello’s warning and scored Three Lions only goal of the match in the 43^rd minute.

Asamoah Gyan ruined Carroll’s night by scoring the tying goal in the 90^th minute.

Gyan made the entire English “D” look like a bunch of schoolgirls trying to catch Bob Hayes.

This cat faked the Three Lions defenders out of their collective jocks.

I bet my friend Tophatal had a fit when he saw his mates do the choke city in the final moments.

Tophatal is right.

Capello needs to go.

The English “D” especially late in the match looked a step slow.

England also lacks a killer instinct.

The guys didn’t attack when they had the chance. They didn’t finish when Three Lions had the chance.

You saw the result of this folly.

Chile defeated Colombia 2-0.

Uruguay jumped out to an early 3-1 lead and hung on for a 3-2 win over Ireland.

Uruguay was a semifinalist in the 2010 World Cup.

Ireland played the JV team while Uruguay was stunned by Estonia 1-0 last Friday in the snow.

Guadalajara shut out Universidad de Chile 2-0 in Santiago Chile to advance to the finals of the Copa Libertadores.

Xavier Baez fired a shot on goal. Chilean keeper Miguel Pinto misplayed the shot and thus resulted in a goal for Mexican side Guadalajara in 22^nd minute.

Jonny Maqallon added the insurance goal in the 55^th minute.

Game, set, and match to Guadalajara.

Now it’s on to the Copa Finals.

This is the second time a Mexican side has made it to the Copa Libertadores Finals.

On Thursday, Brasilian sides Internacional and Sao Paulo will battle it out for the other spot in the Copa Finals.

Colorado defeated Tricolor 1-0 in Porto Alegre.

Now it’s on to Sao Paulo’s house at Mouribi.

Tricolor has snapped their four match winless slide with a huge 2-1 win over Ceara last Sunday.

The semifinals of the Copa Libertadores got underway on Tuesday. Universidad de Chile took on Mexican side Chivas at Aztec stadium in Mexico City.

The first leg of this semifinal ended in a one all tie.

The Chilean side put up a good fight in the end Chivas had most of the second half possession but Universidad de Chile’s defense was good enough to hang on for the tie.

Chile scored first when Chivas defender Hector Reynoso couldn’t clear the header. This resulted in a perfect placed head ball by Universidad de Chile’s Juan Manuel Olivera to mate Rafael Olarra. Olarra nailed the noggin shot into the back of the net in the 47^th minute.

Chivas found the equalizer in the 51^st minute.

Omar Arellano Riveron slipped home the winner off a great header pass from mate Omar Bravo.

The second leg takes place in Santiago, Chile August 3^rd.

Wednesday other Copa Libertadores semifinal features two Brasileiro sides Sao Paulo and Internacional.

Both Tricolor and Colorado both hate each other’s guts.

This will be a blood bath.

Sao Paulo enters into this Copa encounter a hurting puppy.

Tricolor has lost three out of their last four Campeonato matches.

Internacional is coming off a huge win 1-0 over Flamengo on Sunday.

Colorado has four straight Campeonato encounters.

This will be a good one.

Mengao dug themselves into a huge hole. Sure, we won the battle but lost the war.

Flamengo defeated Universidad de Chile 2-1 in Santiago, Chile but Mengao lost on away goal difference.

Both Adriano and Vagner Love tickled the twines but Chile’s lone goal in the 63^rd killed Flamengo.

Globo Esporte put it this way-O império caiu, é verdade. Mas foi de pé. Maltratado e massacrado por ofensas como reino do colesterol dias antes do duelo, o Flamengo não conseguiu o improvável. Venceu por 2 a 1 o Universidad de Chile, em Santiago, mas despediu-se da Taça Libertadores.

Universidad de Chile ripped Rubro-Negro at Maracanã 3-2. This was the difference. Sure both sides were tied four all on goals but that pesky three away goals sent Mengao packing.

O Rubro-Negro precisava vencer por dois gols de diferença, ou por um a partir de 4 a 3. E fez um ótimo primeiro tempo. Em jogada combinada de Love e Adriano, o camisa 9 abriu o placar. No segundo tempo, em um dos únicos vacilos defensivos, Montillo fez jogada genial e empatou. Em jogada igualmente brilhante, Adriano fez 2 a 1. Era pouco.

This stinks.

Bruno made some really great saves to keep Flamengo in the match.

At one point Bruno looked like a sitting duck in shooting gallery.

Adriano played great and so did Love.

The Emperor and Love played like they were on a mission. The Chile coach called them both fat.

Adriano and Vagner Love both said screw you. We will show you how good we both are.

Mengao stunk the joint at Maracanã on Wednesday night in a 3-2 loss to Universidad de Chile.

The score was closer than the game indicated. Chile jumped out an early 2-0 lead. Both of the Chilean goals were gimmie goals.

Stupid defending by the Flamengo “D” created both.

The press and the fans want to hang this on keeper Bruno.

Globo Esporte wrote this story about Mengao keeper Bruno. The fans were screaming at him instead of the crappy Flamengo defense.

The headman Rogeiro Lourenço must take responsibility for Rubro-Negro’s stinky play. Mengao was not prepared to play.

Since Andrade was fired, Mengao has played like crap.

The blame for this rests squarely on the President of Flamengo’s shoulders.

 Before Rubro-Negro knew what hit them Univerisdad de Chile was up 2-0 after the 24^th minute.

Adriano nailed a header in the 38^th minute to cut the gap 2-1 at halftime. I thought we had a chance when we Univerisdad de Chile’s Manuel Iturra was given the heave-hoe in the 45^th minute however an easy walk short handed goal by Chile’s Alvaro Fernandez in the 47^th minute stuck a fork in our chances to pull our chestnuts out of the fire.

No such luck

All in all Mengao played like crap.

We deserved to lose big time.

We did.

Mengao had a chance to move atop the table in Group 8 in the Copa Libertadores. Instead, Rubro-Negro stunk the joint out. Playing before the rain soaked hone crowd in Maracanã Flamengo tied Universidad de Chile 2-2.

Mengao gave up the first goal when Walter Montillo ripped the twines in the 43^rd minute.

Flamengo scored the next two goals to take a 2-1 lead before giving up the equalizer in the 90^th minute.

Matias Nicolas Rodriguez hit for pay dirt to send us Flamenguistas home all washed up and sad.

UOL had this to say about Mengao giving up the late equalizer. UOL wrote that Rubro-Negro relaxed. Give a break. It was dumb. This cost us first place Group 8. This was dumb. O Flamengo quase conseguiu uma grande virada nesta quinta-feira, no Maracanã, mas relaxou no fim. Com gol no último minuto, empatou em 2 a 2 com o Universidad do Chile e frustrou sua torcida. O resultado deixa o time carioca com sete pontos e na segunda posição do grupo 8. Os chilenos, com oito, seguem na liderança.

After falling behind just before the break, Mengao pushed the attack in the second half. Flamengo inserted Petkovic in the line up after us Flamenguistas began showering the joint with boos.

This resulted in two-second half goals.

Precisando correr atrás do resultado, o Flamengo voltou com tudo para o segundo tempo. Pouco produtivo, Kleberson deu lugar a Bruno Mezenga, que entrou bem e criou três boas chances em 16 minutos. A pedido da torcida, Petkovic foi chamado do aquecimento para substituir Vinicius Pacheco. The one saving grace is this. Mengao could have lost so I guess a tie is better than a loss.

Flamengo stunk the joint out against Universidad de Chile on Wednesday night in the Copa Libertadores. Mengao went down in flames 2-1.

This was a horrible performance by Bruno. He was very nervous in net. Bruno was jumpy. He kept on punching the ball out instead of grabbing it.

Globo Esporte had this to say about Bruno’s net minding. He was great against Vasco on Sunday but stunk on Wednesday night.  Herói no último domingo ao defender dois pênaltis de Dodô no clássico contra o Vasco, o goleiro Bruno falhou feio no gol que deu a vitória ao Universidad de Chile por 2 a 1, em Santiago, na noite desta quarta-feira. Phillip Seymour fired a hard shot straight on goal. Bruno swept the ball back into play right in front of the net.

Seymour knocked home the easy rebound winner.

Game, set, and match to Universidad de Chile 2-1.

This was not a great showing by Mengao but this won’t kill our chances of advancing out of the Group stage in the Copa Libertadores.

Chelsea and Inter battled it out in the first round of the knockout stage of the Champions League. Ex-Blues boss Jose Mourinho is the Inter headman. Ex AC Milan headman Carlo Ancelotti is Chelsea’s main man.

Let’s talk about this barnburner of a match. Inter drew first blood in the 3^rd minute. Alberto Diego Milito did a little side step action to the left. This slick move set up this strike that beat keeper Petr Cech to the short post left.

John Terry played horrible “D” on the play.

Chelsea discovered the answer in the 51^st minute. Salomon Kalou was just outside the top of the box. He fired a weak shot that bounced past keepers Julio Cesar’s outstretched left paw. This should have been an easy stop. But no, Cesar flat out blew it.

The match is knotted at one all.

Inter began to apply the pressure on the Blues “D”.

Esteban Cambiasso fired a wicked shot but Didier Drogba blocked it. Rebound. Shot. Score Cambiasso in the 55^th minute.

Inter is up 2-1.

Oh yes, we have a fight on our hands in Internazionale’s house.

Neither side is playing it safe. Chelsea and Inter are playing fast break, racehorse style futebol. I love it.

We have non-stop end-to-end action.

Both sides have had some great scoring opportunities but neither the Blues nor Inter have yet to pull the trigger.

It is all done. Inter defeated Chelsea 2-1.

The Blues picked up the all-important away goal.

Advantage Inter as we head back to Stamford Bridge for the second part of the story. The return match should be another nail bitter.

Lots of Copa Libertadores action on Wednesday.

Flamengo has a hot date with Universidad Catolica at Maracana. The Chilean side is currently in 11^th place in the Chilean Apertura. Catolica has seven points. They are 2-1-3.

Mengao needs to flat out take it to Catolica.

Adriano and Love need to rip the twines.

Bruno will be out with a pulled adductor muscle in his right thigh. Youngster Marcelo Lomba will in goal. I sure hope this doesn’t kill us. This is the grand daddy of em all in South America-The Copa Libertadores.

Rubro-Negro opens the Copa at home then we are on the road for the next two matches.

Mengao travels to Chile to battle Universidad de Chile and Caracas, Venezuela.

Mengao has not tasted victory in first round play of Copa since 1984.

Flamengo needs to stop this schnid now.

Mengao has six draws and two losses in their previous eight Copa openers.

Not good garoto.

Flamenguistas needs a win.

In fifth round FA Cup replay action, Tottenham took it to Bolton 4-0. Super Russian Roman Pavlyuchenko hit for the daily double in the 23^rd and 87^th minute. The Wanderers hit the daily double own goal in the 35^th and 47^th minute.

Spurs are on to the next round of the FA cup.

Aston Villa beat Crystal Palace 3-1 to advance to the next round of the FA Cup.

Reading defeated West Brom 3-2.

Reading’s Brian Howard tied this baby up at two all in 90^th minute to send this guy into thirty minutes of extra time.

Gylfi Sigurdsson hit the match winner in the 95^th minute to send West Brom packing.

Stoke City needed the full 120 minutes to stifle City 3-1. This loss sure puts a damper Man City’s season.

Ryan Shawcross scored in the 95^th minute.

Tuncay Sanli fired home the winner in the 99^th minute to put this sucker out of reach.

City is sent packing as well.
