Pompey fought the gallant fight but in the end Chelsea’s superior firepower, won the FA Cup in a thrilling 1-0 win.

Chelsea had the most scoring chances but the Blues couldn’t pull the trigger until Didier Drogba’s deadly free kick from twenty yards out was squeezed between Portsmouth keepers David James out stretched hand the right post in the 59th minute.

Prior to Drogba’s deadly strike Pompey had a golden chance to spin the match on its head but Kevin-Prince-Boateng’s PK was stone cold stopped by Blues keeper Petr Cech in the 56th minute.

Wham bam just like that in a span of three minutes the match was twisted on its ear and the Blues stuck a fork in Pompey’s dream of winning the FA Cup.

Portsmouth is broke and given the heave-hoe all in one season, yet this was a glorious run by the foreclosed side.

The money made from reaching the FA Cup might help the bankrupt Pompey.

Frank Lampard had a chance to increase the Blues lead in the 89th minute but Portsmouth keeper David James said “No way Jose” and shut em down.

Way to go garoto.

All in all Chelsea was in complete control of the match from beginning to end.

The Blues achieved the daily double winning the EPL and FA Cup titles.

Trust me when I say this Chelsea is heading down the backside of forty. This means Drogba and the boys are getting older. Their window of opportunity is rapidly closing.

They need to bring in younger players to replace the fading stars.

The “Special One” Jose Mourinho brought Drogba and the rest in but the management has not found replacements for them.

Mourinho is good a winning titles with other peoples talent but his ability to build a championship squad stinks.

This is not Mourinho’s strong suit.

Man U had a down year by their standards but remember the Red Devils lost the fake Ronaldo and few other players. The mighty boys from Old Trafford played a very young squad.

Watch out EPL!

My guys from Arsenal are in the same boat. We were besieged by injuries. Younger guys such as Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott, and Carlos Vela were asked to step in big time to replace RVP and Cesc Fabregas who were hit by the injury bug.

My Gunners will be ready next year to win the title as well.

Flamengo battles Vitoria later today.

Lets hope Rubro-Negro doesn’t stink the joint out on the road in Salvador.

I wouldn’t bet on it.

Mengao is in shambles.

This is the hodge podge day for us. We will talk about Flamengo, Champions League, and Monday’s Liverpool-Wigan match.

Adriano has returned to Flamengo after missing eleven days. Most of this time was due to the Emperor playing in the World Cup friendly against Ireland on Tuesday March 2nd.

Adriano will work out to test his physical condition while the rest of Mengao travels to Caracas for their match on Tuesday in the Copa Libertadores.

Vagner Love was hurt in Mengao’s match against Resende. Globo Esporte reported that Love has a thigh bruise.

The return leg in the Champions League first round knockout stage resumes on Tuesday March 8.

Arsenal has a hot date with FC Porto. The Gunners lost 2-1 on a late goal.

We have the all important away goal.

Arsenal has to shut em out at Emirates.

We cannot afford to give up a cheap goal.

The bad news for the Gunners is this. Cesc Fabregas will be out with a pulled hammie.

An MRI was run on Fabregas on Monday. Wenger thinks he will miss a minimum amount of time.

With that said the Arshavin, Eduardo, and the rest are going to have to step up big time.

It is a must that Walcott, Arshavin, and Eduardo find the back of the net.

Samie Nasri will take Fabregas’s place.

Alex Song will need to have a great match as well.

If not we could get 86 outta the joint.

Wigan’s Hugo Rodallegas well placed volley into the back of the net sent Liverpool packing with a 1-0 defeat at DW Stadium.

This loss by the Reds will surely put a dent in their aspirations for the final Champions League berth.

This was Wigan’s first win EPL win against Liverpool.

This is the Reds nineth loss of the season.

Liverpool drops to sixth place.

Tottenham is in fourth place with 49 points.

Manchester City is in fifth place with 49 points as well but City is a plus 17 while Spurs are a plus 23.

Man City has a game in hand.

Tottenham has played 28 matches will City has played 27.

Let the games begin.

Arsenal picked up a huge 3-1 win over Burnley. Yes, this was a much-needed three points.

We started out with several great scoring opportunities. We were finally able to tickle the back of the net in the 34th minute.

Cesc Fabregas rifled home a shot right through  the keepers Brian Jensen’s wickets to give us a 1-0 lead.

Samir Nasri set it up with a great chip shot right over the top of the Burnley defense.

Arsenal had one of those brain farts in the 50th minute. Burnley’s David Nugent knocked home the equalizer to level this baby up at one all.

Mate Leon Cort headed a great pass to Nugent to set up the goal.

We seized the lead in the 60th minute. Theo Walcott sniped home a perfect low ball. This shot flat out beat the keeper Brian Jensen to the right post.

Finally, Andre Arshavin put this baby out of reach in the 90th minute with a perfect strike into the back of the net.

Not pretty but we will take it.

This gives Arsenal 61 points.

Bolton scored two first half goals and then held on to beat West Ham 2-1.

Jack Wilshere, on loan from Arsenal, fired home a close range shot in the 20th minute for the Wanderers.

Kevin Davies ripped a header in the 10th minute to start this sucker off right for Bolton.

Bolton now has 29 points. The Wanderers are currently in 13th place. Bolton is five points from the drop zone.

Portsmouth is on the verge of getting shut down for good. Pompey picked a huge 2-0 win over Birmingham in the quarterfinals of the FA cup.

Frederick Piquionne hit the daily double, 67th, 70th minute, to make Pompey’s day.

This win is worth 600,000 pounds.

You gotta love it.

The dog saved their hide by beating a very good Birmingham club.

Manchester United has miss fired on all cylinders against Wolves so far.

The Red Devils dearly miss Wayne Rooney. Berbatov is a total waste of time

In a flash, the match changed. Nani broke free on the right side of the box. He fired a pass into the teeth of the Wolves goal line defense. Pinball machine time. Paul Scholes rifled home the point blank shot off a missed played clearance by defender Craddock in the 73rd minute to give Man U a 1-0 lead.

This was follow the bouncing ball time.

This was a huge goal.

For it sure looked like Wolverhampton would salvage a point.

There is ten minutes left.

We will see what happens.

Manchester hung on for a 1-0 win against Wolves.

Manchester United is now in first place with 63 points.

Road wins are a premium in the EPL.

This was a biggie.

The Blues have a game in hand.

We are in a great position to win this baby.

Remember what I said earlier, Arsenal would win the title. So far so good for the Gunner nation.
