It sure looked touch and go for Sir Alex and the boys for most of the match against Wigan but three goals in the final twenty minutes secured the Red Devils a huge 4-0 win over Wigan.
Javier Hernandez hit the daily double.
Wayne Rooney and Fabio hit the score sheet as well.
Man U led 1-0 well into the 75th minute before putting this sucker outta touch.
The Latics put up a hell of fight.
Wigan had at least three good scoring opportunities but couldn’t dent the back of the net.
Man U now leads my guys from Arsenal by four points.
The mighty boys from Old Trafford have 60 points.
The Gunners are in second place with 56.
Up next for the guys and Sir Alex is Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
This will be the second of three straight road matches for Man U.
The Red Devils have four road wins, eight draws, and one loss.
Titles are won on the road.
This is a real fact.
In other EPL matches, Wolves beat Blackpool 4-0.
Newcastle and Bolton tied one all.
Aston Villa blasted the Blackburn Rovers 4-1.
Everton shut out Sunderland 2-0.
The bottom feeder’s look like this- West Ham is dead last with 25 points.
Wigan is one step above stink with 27 points.
West Brom is in the final you’re outta here zone with 27 points.
Wolves saved themselves with a win over Blackpool to move out of the drop zone for now on goal difference.
Wolverhampton is a minus 15 while the Hammers are a minus 17.

Once again, the mighty boys from Old Trafford came up firing blanks in the first leg of the Champions League knockout stage.
Man U and Marseille tied nil-nil.
Man U can play great one time and stink the joint out the next.
Sir Alex and his guys used their top line of Rooney, Berbatov, and Nani.
Sure, the Red Devils had their chances but they couldn’t dent the back of the net.
The only saving grace was Man U’s defense.
Vidic and the boys had a stellar performance.
Missing from the back line was Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs.
Still a tie is better than a loss.
An away goal from the Red Devils would have been good but not on this day.
The second leg is at Old Trafford on March 15th.
Sir Alex had this to say about the tie- I think it was very lucky. The referee’s in a good position and I don’t know why he didn’t give us a free-kick and then the decision is straightforward – it’s a red card.”
On his teams performance-”On our ground we will be much better. Scoring away from home is always important and we didn’t do that tonight.
“You always worry at this stage of the season because there are no bad teams left in the competition, but we will have two or three players back and, whilst we won’t be taking anything for granted, this result is fine.
”Marseille made sure they did not lose. It was a poor game for the spectators. Nothing happened.”
About Rooney’s play- He did what we wanted him to do,” he said. “The way we normally set up, with Nani or Ryan Giggs on the left, gives us more natural width, but Wayne worked hard, as he always does.
“He has great spirit but he was better when we played him through the middle in a 4-4-2 at the end.”
This wasn’t a great performance but it will pass.

Chelsea picked up a huge 2-0 win on the road at Copenhagen in the first round of the knockout stage in Champions League play.
Nicholas Anelka hit the daily lotto twice to lead the Blues to the all-important road “W”.
Super team Real Madrid wound up in one all tie with Lyon.
The all world fake Ronaldo didn’t even dent the score sheet.
I love this guy.
When the chips are Cristiano Ronaldo is bupkis.
He is não serve para nada.
At least his mate Karim Benzema saved the day for the bums at Real Madrid.
Later today, Man U battles Marseille at their house Stade Velodrome.
The mighty boys from Old Trafford will be without Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs.
This could hurt Sir Alex and the boys.
We will find out.
This means Vidic, Chris Smalley, O’Shea, and Brown will have to come up big on the “D” end.

My guys from Arsenal did what they needed to do at their house winning 2-0 over Wolverhampton.
Robin van Persie hit the daily lotto twice in the win.
Both goals were a thing of beauty.
The first was in the 16th minute.
RVP nailed a perfect sliding kick that bounced off the right post into the back of the net.
The second happened in the 56th minute.
This was a perfect counter attack that started with a great defensive play by Alex Song.
RVP and Theo Walcott played a perfect two-man game that left Wolves keeper Wayne Hennessy hung out to dry.
Robin Van Persie hit the back of the net.
Game, set, and match to the Gunners.
RVP has scored nine goals in his last four matches.
This “W” was huge.
Arsene Wenger had this to say about the Jack Wilshere- Jack is a talented player who can defend and attack. He had a very good game. He defends well, he attacks well, he creates, he has assists.”
“He is a very confident lad but he has not scored yet. Cesc was like that for a while,” said Wenger. “I believe he will score soon because he looks very close.
“He has a hesitation some time to shoot himself and chooses to always give the ball. When he is a bit more confident he will score goals.”
Wenger was pleased his chargers didn’t suffer a let down after the fiasco at Newcastle-There was none. In fact it confirmed the quality of our performance at Newcastle, what was not easy to read in the media, because we had an outstanding game as long as it was 11 against 11. It was confirmed today with the number of chances we created, the quality of our play. We were defensively solid and that was important after the four goals we conceded. We create many chances, the only regret is that maybe we didn’t score enough goals. Part of that is down to their goalkeeper – all the goalkeepers look very inspired here at the Emirates. The keeper had an outstanding game.
Wenger added about his guys not thinking about the mid-week tussle against Barcelona- We had to stay focused. For us it is important because [on Wednesday] we play certainly at the moment the best team in the world. It is important to go into the game with psychological confidence and as well in a strong position in the league. We are in a Premier League race, we believe we can do it, we have the hunger, and we can focus on every single competition and that is important. For me it was important we showed the focus today and did not have Barcelona in their mind.
Man U came up big in 2-1 win over cross-town rivals Man City.
The Rooney Man nailed a bicycle in the 78th minute gave Sir Alex and the Boys a “W” at Old Trafford.
Rooney had this to say after the match- I have seen it again. I was just trying to keep my eye on the ball and to get a good connection. Luckily it went into the top corner.” It is a significant result and almost certainly rules City out of the title race unless a disaster happens.
Man U is top dog with 57 points.
My guys from Arsenal are second 54.
West Brom blew a three-goal lead and tied West Ham three all.
Blackpool and Aston Villa tied one all.
Liverpool and Wigan kissed their sister one-one.
Spurs picked up a huge 2-1 win over Sunderland.

The big boys all won on this very cold day in the states. Some places are as hot as minus one. That’s a heat wave folks. You gotta love it. Not!
My guys from Arsenal fell behind 1-0 on a clearly offside goal by Louis Saha in the 24th minute.
There was no quit in this dog as my Gunners scored the next two goals to win this sucker 2-1 at our house Emirates.
Andrei Arshavin point blank shot dead center of the box in the 70th tied this puppy up at one all.
The match winner came in the 77th minute. Robin Van Persie fired a great skip pass through the goal crease to Laurent Koscielny. Koscielny nailed a tight range header between the keeper Tim Howard and the left post.
Game, set, and match to Arsenal.
This “W” was huge for Gunner nation.
Man U blasted Aston Villa 3-1.
The Wayne man hit the daily double for Sir Alex and the guys.
Rooney’s first of the season.
Nemanja Vidic scored too.
This win kept the Red Devils a top the leader board with 54 points.
My Gunners are in the two spot with 49 points.
Chelsea destroyed Sunderland 4-2.
John Terry, Frank Lampard, Salomon Kalou, and Nicolas Anelka ripped the twines for the Blues guys.
Chelsea stays in touch with the leader board in third place with 44 points.

Manchester United finally got their act together. The Red Devils scored an impressive 3-0 win over Bursaspor in their house.
Way to go garoto.
Second half goal busters Darren Fletcher, Gabriel Obertan, and Bebe sealed the deal for Sir Alex and the guys.
The bad news is this.
Growing superstar Nani was taken out in the 29th minute.
He limped off the pitch with a pulled groin.
This sucker hurts big time.
Nani will probably miss Saturday’s match with Wolves.
Nani is a key to Man U’s attack.
Ouch.
Spurs flat out took it to the defending Champions League titleholders Internazionale 3-1.
This was a classic kick ass and take names kind of a deal.
Revenge is sweet.
Spurs fell behind 4-0 before rallying to make it a close and respectable 4-3 loss at Internazionale’s house two weeks ago.
Tottenham turned the tables on the Italian giants.
Goals by Rafael Van der Vaart, Peter Crouch, and Roman Pavlyuchenko sent Internazionale home packing.
This win puts Spurs in the top spot in Group A on goal difference over Internazionale.
Man U is top dog in Group C with 10 points.
The Red Devils should be on to the next round.
Tottenham will join them too.
De Futebol
The special one Jose Mourinho did at Internazionale what he couldn’t do at Chelsea win the Champions League.
Internazionale took it to Bayern Munich 2-0.
The Italian side scored two second half goals to win going away.
Bayern had most of the possessions but Internazionale played steel curtain defense.
This was like the Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl Champs Mean Joe Green and the steel curtain “D”.
Kick ass baby.
The crowned champion by the media Barcelona was knocked out in the round of 16.
So was Real Madrid the other paper champion in the round of 16 too.
Real Madrid had all this firepower. Little good this did. The fake Ronaldo fired blanks.
Internazionale was led by Alberto Diego Milito daily double-34th and 70th minutes.
Jose Mourinho has led FC Porto and Internazionale to Champions League titles.
This is good but the special one is a carpetbagger.
He is good at taking others peoples talent and winning but I would love to see the Mourinho man start from scratch and build a championship side.
Sir Alex and my main man Arsene Wenger are the master architects at taking nothing and building them into champions.
The rumor mills are talking that Mourinho is headed to Real Madrid.
What did I tell ya?
This is still a huge milestone for Jose Mourinho.
He joins Ernst Happel and Ottmar Hitzfeld as the only other two managers to achieve this feat.
Bayern’s manager Luis Van Gaal led Ajax to the Champions League title in 1995 and he was seeking to accomplish the same feat.
Not on this day.
We two managers to join an elite group men.
This marks the first time in five years that an EPL side has not made to the finals.

Liverpool kept their slim Champions League hopes alive. The Reds 3-0 whitewash of West Ham moved Liverpool within striking distance of Spurs.
Spurs have 64 points. City has 62 points. The Reds have 59 points.
Liverpool has three bad boys left to play while both Tottenham and Man City have four matches left.
Yossi Benayoun led off the hit parade with a strike in the 19th minute.
David Ngog added a marker in the 29th minute.
The Hammers Robert Green own goal added insult to injury in the 59th minute sealed the deal for the Reds.
What has killed Liverpool’s chances of returning to the Champions League is the injury to super striker Fernando Torres. He will miss the reminder of the season. Torres bum knee may cost Spain a shot at the World Cup title as well.
We will see.
Yet, Rafa Benitez was the idiot who choose this team. He didn’t plan for the future instead he played the future is now game. Too bad Bozo you lose. The great managers always have several game plans. Not Rafa though. This is why I call him the idiot.
Sir Alex is a prime example of this. He knew he was going to lose the fake Ronaldo so Sir Alex kept in the wings such players as Nani and Darron Gibson. These players are keeping Man U in the hunt for their four-peat.
My man Arsene Wenger is another manager who keeps younger players in the system so that when the stars go down he has top-notch players to plug into the system.
The real test of a manager is how well they can perform in the long haul.
Sir Alex and Wenger are two excellent examples.
Before you have a cow and tell me, I don’t know what I am talking about. I know Jose Mourinho. He is good in the short run. He is good for a few years then his act gets old. The players and management rebel against him and then Mourinho exits stage left.
The “Special One” is good only for a few years.
Yes, he can win titles but when Mourinho leaves, the club is in a shambles. Chelsea is an excellent example of this. The Blues are good now but age is setting in. Chelsea maybe has a year or two left before the window of opportunity closes. The Blues don’t have younger talent waiting in the wings.
Trust me on this
