It’s one week. The EPL season begins for real. My Gunners will have a lot to prove this year.
There are many questions that remain unanswered.
Will Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri be with the club this season or will they go the way of the transfer window.
If Wenger uses Fabregas in this round of the Champions League qualifying round he won’t be able to play in the Champions League Group stage if Barcelona is the destination or any other European club.
Wenger said this about the questions hanging over Gunner land- “Ideally I would have finished all [our business], but it doesn’t work like that. “We work very hard, we are non-stop working throughout the summer. It’s all kinds of things you meet during the transfer market, but I can understand the impatience of people.” Arsenal will battle Udinese n the final qualifying round. The winner of this home and away series will advance to the Group Stage of the Champions League.
The first leg will be played at our house Emirates on August 16th.
The return leg will be played on August 24th at Bianconeri’s house in Italy.
Wenger said this about their Italian opponent – “I would say [the draw is] difficult but possible,” he said on Friday ahead of the Eusebio Cup in Lisbon. “Who would want to play against an Italian opponent? We know we will have to be at our best to qualify.“Udinese have lost Sanchez and Zapata [this summer] but they have many other good players. They have Di Natale and plenty of players who have quality.
“Let’s try to be at our best as quickly as we can because it is important for us to go through in the Champions League.”
In our final tune up of the season my Gunners lost to Benfica 2-1.
Robin Van Persie scored in the 34th minute.
My guys from Flamengo have a huge match with Coritiba at Mengao’s house in Rio de Janeiro.
Rubro-Negro is in second place while Coxa is in tenth place.
We need to win this sucker to keep Flamengo’s unbeaten string alive and well at fourteen going on fifteen.

It’s the weekend and it’s time for the EPL. The guys are back in action. I love it.
Man U has a hot date at Old Trafford with Fulham.
The Red Devils are in the catbird seat with 66 points.
My guys from Arsenal are in the second slot with 59 points.
City is third with 56.
Wayne Rooney will be MIA due to cursing out a ref in last weeks match against West Ham.
Sir Alex and the boys should not miss a beat with the leagues top scorer Dimitar Berbatov. Berbatov has found the back of the net 20 times.
Rio Ferdinand will be back anchoring the “D”.
Man U cannot afford to be lax in this puppy.
Remember my guys from Arsenal have a game in hand.
The Gunners battle Blackpool at Bloomfield Park.
The Seasiders have a habit of playing the big boys tough at home.
We have to be very careful.
The Barca hangover is still a loom of gloom over the Gunners heads.
Robin Van Persie, Samir Nasri, and the rest need to attack, attack, and stop giving up stupid goals.
Cesc Fabregas will play. Wenger said- “Cesc is fit to start,” confirmed the manager at his pre-match press conference. “We have some problems with Sagna and with Song, who will be out [with a knee injury], and Walcott as well.
Wenger went on to say- “Song definitely won’t play but he should be available for next week. There is a big doubt about Walcott, it’s his ankle again. He will have a late fitness test.
“Sagna has a knee problem and has a scan today [Friday]. Everybody else should be available.”
City is nipping at my Gunners heels in third place only three points out.
City takes on Liverpool on Monday at Anfield.
Chelsea is at the friendly confines of Stamford Bridge to battle heave –hoe bound Wigan.

Samir Nasri led Arsenal to an impressive 3-1 win over Leeds in the third round of The FA Cup.
Samir Nasri had a goal and two assists in the win that sent us to the fourth round of The FA Cup.
Way to go garoto.
Nasri started off the goal parade in the 5th minute.
Samir Nasri received a great pass from mate Andre Arshavin. Nasri gathered the ball and faked two Leeds defenders out of their jocks and nailed the winner to make it 1-0.
Bacary Sagna nailed a close range winner in the 35th minute for a 2-0 Gunners lead.
Leeds cut the gap to 2-1 in the 37th minute.
Bradley Johnson smashed the winner to make it nervous time for the Arsenal faithful.
Not to despair Arsenal put this sucker outta reach in the 76th minute when Robin Van Persie struck for gold in the 76th minute to make 3-1.
Game, asset, and match to my Gunner guys.
Samir Nasri said this about the Gunners performance- We wanted to start really strongly. We scored after five minutes and tried to play our game even though the pitch was a little difficult.
“We want to win every competition and this cup is really important to us.”
The head guy Arsene Wenger had these diddy’s about the Gunners win over Leeds- We had both a good result and a good performance. We had quality in our attitude, spirit and focus. We started strongly and we played the football we like to play for the best part of the game. Leeds never gave up but we looked just too strong tonight for them. I think we got a warning in the first game and we [learnt] the lesson. That shows that my players are intelligent and that is a good sign.
Wenger added- have quality on the bench, that helps especially when your legs get tried. The incisive passing of the players can make the difference. I was impressed by Leeds over the two games, by the way they were organised, by their spirit, by their physical qualities and I think they have a chance to come back to the Premier League.
Up next for Arsenal in the fourth round of The FA Cup is Huddersfield.
Wenger said this about our next round opponent -It gives us a good opportunity to play at home in front of our home fans. Of course we will be favourites and I believe we had that in our mind tonight, the fact that if we qualify we play at home. I believe the team goes from strength to strength with great spirit and we have shown again tonight that we are hungry.

The headline match of the weekend is Manchester City and Arsenal. These two sides are locked in a battle for the top three spots in the EPL.
City is coming off a huge win last weekend over Blackpool while my guys from Arsenal are coming off a hard fought win over Birmingham.
This is a must win for us if the Gunners are to keep in touch with top dog Chelsea.
Chelsea has 19 points while we have 14 points.
If we lose and Chelsea wins this will drop us seven points off the pace.
Chelsea should win against Wolverhampton on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are almost unbeatable in their house.
Another walk in the park for Chelsea.
City has 17 points.
Man City is playing great futebol.
City beat Chelsea already this year at their house City of Manchester Stadium.
Our road struggles are well documented.
The guys from Gunner land have one win, two ties, and a draw on the road this season.
We have scored four goals on the road and have given up five.
Tevez maybe unhappy at City but his performance on the pitch doesn’t reflect his unhappiness,
He is kicking ass and taking names.
Tevez is the top twine ripper with seven.
He is on fire.
We have to smoother him.
“D” is the key.
Cesc Fabregas is another key.
His return will help bolster the Gunners attack.
Fabregas is the QB.
He is like a Peyton Manning.
Fabregas pinpoint passes and easy flowing style will create lots of scoring opportunities for Arshavin, Marouane Chamakh, and Samir Nasri.
Manchester United is in a must win situation as well.
The Red Devils need to beat Stoke City on Sunday at the Potters house.
Man U hasn’t lost a match all season but the mighty boys from Old Trafford have let four leads slip from their grasp and allow sure wins to turn into draws.
This is not good.
Stoke City is currently in 9th place with 10 points.
Gunner nation rules.

My guys from Arsenal almost took it on the chin at home against Birmingham. Yes, the Gunners pulled out a hard fought come from behind 2-1 over the Blues at Emirates.
An almost great goal in the first half by the Gunners Andrei Arshavin was ruled offsides in the 19th minute.
The Gunners “D” stunk the joint out in the 33rd minute. Nikola Zigic nailed a perfect shot that beat the helpless keeper Fabianski to give Birmingham a 1-0 lead.
Then a controversial penalty in the 41st minute leveled this sucker up at one all.
Samir Nasri hit the PK.
Marouane Chamakh nailed the match winner just the other side of half time (47th minute) to lift the Gunners to the win.
Jack Wilshere won the dumbest futebol player award when he was given the heave-hoe in the 90th minute.
This stupidity could have cost Arsenal big time.
Thank God for small favors.
This was a huge win.
This stops our home losing streak at one.
Gunners lost at home two weeks ago when West Brom took it to us 3-2.
This fiasco happened on September 25th.
This win moves Arsenal into second place.
Man U blew a two-goal lead at home and wound up with two all tie against West Brom.
This is the second time the Baggies have sent the home side home unhappy.
First at Arsenal now at Old Trafford.
Albion is now in 6th place with 12 points.
The Red Devils are in third place and can slip to fourth place if Man City beats Blackpool on Sunday.
Chelsea struggles on the road continue. The Blues and Aston Villa tied nil-nil at Villa Park.
Chelsea had their to chance win it in the final moments when Nicholas Anelka just missed the winner. The shot went clank off the crossbar in the 89th minute.
This may cost the Blues the title.
Man U is stinking the joint out.
Arsenal almost did but we pulled out the win.
We are missing our playmaker Cesc Fabregas.
Rumor has it Fabregas wants outta here.
We will see.
Oh Yeah, Tottenham defeated Fulham 2-1.
Spurs Tom Huddlestone hit the match winner in the 63rd minute.
Hold on to your horse. Wait a minute; the ref Dean allowed the goal after an assistant ruled Tottenham’s William Gallas was offside.
The entire joint went bananas.
The EPL is alive and well with a ton of crazy stuff that continues to happen.
This is why futebol is so much fun to watch and write about.

I am mad as hell right now. My Guys from Arsenal stunk the joint at home-Emirates. The Gunners had their jocks handed to them by lowly West Brom 3-2.
This stinks big time.
The entire squad should be shot at dusk and then hung the next morning for good measure.
This was Arsenal’s first home loss since Man U beat us January 2010.
This was a pure horrible offensive display of futebol by my Gunners.
West Brom should have taken the lead in the 37th minute when keeper Almunia was forced to tackle Obemwingie.
Almunia stone cold stopped the PK.
Way to go garoto.
Then all hell broke loose in the second half.
Albion scored two goals in two minutes.
Obemwingie ripped the twines in the 50th minute.
Two minutes (52nd minute) later Gonzalo Jara broke free in the box. Jara ripped the shot. Bing, bam, boom the ball goes right through Almunia’s hands and into the box of net.
Jerome Thomas scored the clincher in the 73rd minute.
Samir Nasri added two late cosmetic goals in he 75th and 90th minutes to make it a respectable 3-2 final score.
Arsenal had a chance to cut Chelsea’s lead to one point but no another wasted opportunity.
Chelsea was handed their first loss of the season.
City beat the Blues 1-0 at the City of Manchester Stadium.
Tevez showed why he is one of the best players in the world.
The Carlos man took off down the pitch on a wicked counter attack.
Dribble left go right. Tevez beat the defender and the naked keeper Petr Cech in the 59th minute.
The low shot caromed off the left post and curled into the back of the net.
The difference in the match was City’s smothering defense.
Man City shut down the high scoring Chelsea machine.
This was a huge win for City.
West Ham beat Tottenham 1-0.
The road woes for Spurs continues.
The Hammers are currently in 18th place with four points.
This was West Ham’s first win of the season.

There is good news and bad news on the Arsenal front.
The bad first Robin Van Persie will out until at least mid October.
What did I tell ya?
These clowns at FIFA need to have their heads examined.
Enough of this Bullshit already will ya.
No wonder players are breaking down.
RVP is the latest.
Robin Van Persie is just coming off a long extended injury.
Players need rest.
RVP and the top players are playing in league play, Champions League, International friendlys, and World Cup.
Folks, we need to have a players Union to stop this insanity.
Samir Nasri is coming along well after knee surgery.
Nasri should return to action in the next couple of weeks.
The Gunners subs pulled a thrilling come from behind 4-3 win over the Blackburn subs.
Arsenal reserves have two wins.
The Gunners have scored nine goals in the two wins.
Jay Emmanuel Thomas nailed the match winner for the Gunner subs.
Way to go garoto.
My guys from Arsenal are in second place with seven points.
We have a huge match at home against Bolton on Saturday.
The Wanderers are a dangerous side.
Bolton sits in fifth place with five points.
This is key match for the Gunner nation.
Theo Walcott and the guys need to keep ramming the twines.
Home wins are a must.
My other guys Mengao are in the deep shits.
We can’t find the net.
Flamengo can’t win.
Rubro-Negro hasn’t won in five matches.
Two goals in our last five matches suck big time.
Flamengo has 22 points.
We are sitting in 14th place.
Gremio-Barueri has 19 points and sits in 17th place.
Mengao is two steps away from the heave-hoe zone.
Nut cutting time is on Wednesday against Sao Paulo at Tricolor’s house Mouribi.
Sao Paulo is in tenth place with 25 points.
De Futebol
Our road woes continue.
We need to find an answer to why Arsenal struggles on the road.
The Gunners escaped with a one all tie with Liverpool at Anfield.
This BS has to stop.
Liverpool was down to ten men.
Then lightening struck when Reds David Ngog broke free just outside the box. Ngog fired a perfect top shelf bullet. This laser beat keeper Manuel Almunia in the 46th minute.
We had the advantage but Arsenal couldn’t crack the Reds “D” code.
At several times in the second half it looked like Liverpool was playing twelve guys.
Then magic presto the match changed in an instant.
The clock was going tic, tic, tic. Time was winding on the match. A loss looked for certain. Gunners Rosicky fired a great cross into the teeth of the goalmouth. Chamakh bumps the ball towards the goal. Chamakh gets tangled with Reds keeper Reina. Reina bats the ball into the back of his own net in the 90th minute to us the equalizer.
Thanks be to God for the Abbott and Costello routine by Pepe Reina.
This huge gaff saved our bacon on this Sunday afternoon at Anfield.
This was a totally underserved one point.
If Arsenal is going to win the title, we need to win on the road.
If not we are sunk big time.
The champs always find ways to win on the road.
Last year EPL Champions Chelsea had the best road record.
Next up for us is newly promoted Blackpool.
The Seasiders are coming off a huge win 4-0 win over Wigan.
The only saving grace is that we are home.
It was good to see both Robin Van Persie and Liverpool’s Fernando Torres return to action.
From what I saw, our guys played too much one on one and didn’t work the ball around for a good shot.
Several times Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott, Samir Nasri, and Tomas Rosicky had good scoring chances but they could close the deal.
We have to learn how to finish.
Not a good start but I’ll take the one point.
Arsenal needs to improve.
De Futebol
The EPL is a little more than one week away.
I can’t wait.
Yes, we had the World Cup and my beloved Campeonato do Brasil but without the EPL on Saturday and Sunday, I am a lost puppy.
Are you ready for some Futebol?
Yes, I can’t wait.
Kickoff is set for August 14th.
There are some huge opening round matches.
My guys from Arsenal battle Liverpool at Anfield.
This is a huge opening bell tilt.
The Reds are coming off a disappointing 2009-2010 campaign.
In plain terms, Liverpool stunk.
They played like crap.
The Reds finished in seventh place.
The fat Spanish waiter is gone but I don’t know if this will help Liverpool.
Fernando Torres will probably miss the first half of the season.
Let’s see if Roy Hodgson can change the Reds fortunes.
The Gunners are itching to get back at it.
Arsenal has several young guns ready to prove themselves. Jack Wilshere, Samir Nasri, Aaron Ramsey, and Theo Walcott all have to finally live up to the high expectations placed on them by Wenger and us fans.
Robin Van Persie and Cesc Fabregas should be raring to go after being injured for most of the 2009-2010 campaign.
The weak link in the scheme is the keeper.
I think both Almunia and Fabianski are both two clowns who should be shot at dusk for stupid goal tending.
These guys suck big time.
Let the games begin.
Speaking of games, Internacional and Sao Paulo play their second leg of the Copa Libertadores semifinal in Sao Paulo at Mouribi.
Tricolor needs to win by at least one goal.
Colorado won the first round 1-0 in Porto Alegre.
Both of sides hate each other.
This should be a wild one.
De Futebol
It’s August. This means the EPL is two weeks away. Kick-off begins August 14th.
My guys from Arsenal played in the Emirates Cup in London.
The Gunners and AC Milan tied at one all.
We started a very young lineup.
The clown in goal was Fabianski.
He did okay.
Jack Wilshere, Andre Arshavin, and Tomas Rosicky started up front.
Samir Nasri and Emmanuel Eboue anchored the midfield and Thomas Vermaelen was rock of the back line.
The surprise of the match was Marouane Chamakh knocked home the bacon in the 36th minute. Chamakh sent the ball right through the keeper’s wickets.
Arshavin set this baby up with a great pass.
AC Milan found the equalizer in the 76th minute.
Brasilian the Duck Pato headed home ball. Buda bing buda boom it’s in the back of the net.
Next up is Scottish side Celtic.
Celtic and Lyon tied two all.
All of this action takes place at the Gunners house Emirates.
Lyon jumped out a huge two nil lead before the guys from Scotland scored twice in the final ten minutes to tie this baby up at two all.
These two goals broke the hearts of the French side.
I love it.
The cheating frogs get it shoved back in their face.
Sao Paulo finally won.
Tricolor stopped the bleeding at Morumbi with a 2-1 over Ceara.
This was Sao Paulo’s first win six matches.
Tricolor had four loses and one draw entering into today’s play.
The win move Sao Paulo to ninth spot in the table.
Tricolor has 15 points.
Fluminense defeated Atletico-PR 1-0.
Washington scored the match winner in the 21st minute.
Atletico-GO and Guarani tied one all.
Sunday will be a fun one. This is the derby special day Vasco-Flamengo and Palmeiras-Corinthians.
I love it
