Nacional B in Argentina is getting down to the butt end of the season. Six points separate the top four clubs. Yes, Martha there will be a dogfight to see who gets the top two spots. These two sides will get promoted to the big boys league in Argentina. 

Rosario Central is the main man with 68 points. River Plate and Instituto de Cordoba each has 66 points. Quilmes has 62 points.

There are four matches left. So points are at a premium for the top guys. Losses and ties will do Los Canallas, Los Millionaires, La Gloria, and El Cervecero more harm than good and could cost them big time.

The Copa Libertadores resumes play tonight. Boca Juniors takes a little trip to Rio de Janeiro to battle Fluminense. Los Xeneizes has a 1-0 lead on aggregate. An away goal by Boca will kill Flu out right.

Corinthians and Vasco will take to the pitch in Sao Paulo to settle this war. Both sides are nil-nil on aggregate.

River Plate escaped falling into third place by the hair of their chinny chin chin. Los Millionaires and Guillermo Brown tied at two all. River Plate gave up a late goal this could have cost em big time. Los Millionaires has a superior goal difference and this saved their asses.

Rosario Central shut out Atletico Tucuman 2-0.

Instituto de Cordoba killed Almirante Brown 3-1.

Los Canallas is top dog with 68 points. River Plate and La Gloria are tied on points with 66. Los Millionaires is a plus 36. Instituto de Cordoba is a plus 31.

Almirante Brown was born January 17^th, 1922. The closest Almirante Brown came to making it to the big boys league was in 1991-92. They missed by one game. Atletico Tucuman beat them in the final game.

Boca Juniors sits atop the leader board with 29 points. Tigre and Newell’s Old Boys are tied on points with 28. Matador is a plus eleven. La Lepra is plus eight.

Newell’s Old Boys lost to Tigre 3-1. Los Xeneizes defeated Racing 2-0. La Lepra’s loss to Matador couple with Boca’s win over Racing allowed Los Xeneizes leapfrog back to the top stop in the Clausura.

Another one bit the dust Kenny Dalglish was given the heave-hoe by Liverpool. The Reds were a huge disappointment. They stunk the joint out big time. Liverpool finished in eight place. The Reds were seventeen points behind fourth place Tottenham.

Liverpool has been on a downhill slide since 2009 campaign. The Fenway Sports Group owns the Reds. No wonder Liverpool sucks.

 FSG said this “Fenway Sports Group (FSG) and Liverpool football club announced that Kenny Dalglish is to leave his post today as manager after having his contract terminated.

“After a careful and deliberative review of the season, the club came to the decision that a change was appropriate. It is not a decision that was reached lightly or hastily. The search for a new manager will begin immediately.”

River Plate is sitting in the catbird seat in Argentina’s Nacional B with 65 points. Rosario Central has 65 points também however Los Canallas is only a plus 18 compared with Los Millionaires plus 33. Instituto de Cordoba has being sitting atop the table since the season started but La Gloria has lost the last their last two of three to drop into third place.

The top two clubs will return to Argentina’s big boys league.

Saturday River Plate battles Guillermo Brown. Rosario Central has a hot date with Atletico Tucuman. Guillermo Brown is hanging out in 16^th place. Tucuman is in 12^th place.

Guillermo Brown was founded in 1945. La Banda Capo Del Sur has never played in the Argentina’s top league. Brown won the Torneo Argentina A: 2 in 2010-11.

Guillermo Brown was named after Irish born first admiral of the Argentina Navy in 19^th century.

The English Championship ended their regular season. Reading and Southampton have punched their ticket to the big boys league. West Ham, Birmingham, Blackpool, and Cardiff City will have a playoff to see who will be third side to get their ticket punched to the EPL.

Jack Colson hit the daily double to lead West Ham to a 2-0 win over Cardiff City.

These two sides will meet again on Monday to decide which one advances to the championship game.

Later today Blackpool battles Birmingham in their first leg at the Seasiders house. The return leg will take place on Wednesday. Both Blues and Blackpool were sent down last year.

Instituto de Cordoba is still the top dog in Nacional B with 62 points. River Plate is hanging onto second place with 59 points. Rosario Central has 59 points também but Los Millionaires has a plus 33 while Los Canallas is plus 14. The top two teams will advance to D-1 ball in Argentina.

Last time out River Plate and Aldosivi tied one all. Tiburon is in sixth place.

Instituto defeated Gimnasia 1-0.

Both La Gloria and Los Millionaires have hot dates on Saturday. River Plate- Gimnasia hooks up while Instituto de Cordoba Guillermo Brown tangle.

Three points separate Los Millionaires, La Gloria, and third place club Los Canallas.

Rosario Central and Huracan battle on Sunday.

This is nut-cutting time for these clubs.

Boca Juniors is the main man in the Clausura with 24 points. Velez Sarsfield is in second place with 23 points. Newell’s Old Boys are third with 22 points.

Los Xeneizes defeated Colon de Santa Fe 1-0. La Lepra and All Boys tied at one all. El Fortin tore apart Estudiantes 2-0.

The Clausura ends on June 24^th.

River Plate and Boca Juniors are the two most decorated clubs in Argentinos futebol history Both Los Millionaires and Los Xeneizes have a combined 63 domestic titles.

“The hangovers hurt move than they used to,” Hank Junior sung many moons ago. This is probably how Barca and Real Madrid feel after their crash and burn out in the Champions League semifinals.

The idiotic pundits proclaimed these two futebol giants as the best ever. However Chelsea and Bayern Munich upset the whole apple cart. I love this stuff.  I like rooting for the dogs except when it’s my teams Arsenal and the Philadelphia Eagles. Did ya notice my two clubs always break your heart. This is the life of an Eagles and Gunners fan.

This coolest thing would be if Man City runs the table to win the EPL. The Citizens haven’t won a first division title since 1967-68. Are Man City due? We will find out this coming Monday when Sir Alex and the Boys hook up with Man City at the Citizens house.

River Plate got the win they needed over Instituto de Cordoba last Saturday. Los Millionaires defeated La Gloria 1-0. This win over the top dog in Nacional B kept River Plate in second place and still one point behind Instituto de Cordoba.

Rosario Central defeated Deportivo Merio 1-0 to keep the pressure on Los Millionaires to keep on winning.

La Gloria sits atop the leader board with 59 points. River Plate is second with 58 and Los Canallas is third with 56. The top two clubs are headed to the big leagues.

Boca Juniors is the main man in the Clausura with 21 points. Newell’s Old Boys are second with 21 points também but Los Xeneizes is plus nine while La Lepra is a plus seven. Tigre is third with 20, Arsenal de Sarandi is fourth with 19, and All Boys are fifth with 19

River Plate defeated Huracan 2-0 last Saturday. Los Canallas got by Quilmes 1-0. The Scoundrels need to win this sucker to keep pace with Los Millionaires. Instituto de Cordoba edged Atlanta 1-0 to keep their four-point lead over River Plate and six points over Rosario Central.

La Gloria, River Plate, and Los Canallas all have big matches coming up this weekend.  Instituto de Cordoba and River Plate will battle it out on Saturday. Los Millionaires needs to win this sucker if they want to cut the gap to two points. Rosario Central and Deportivo Merlo match up também. Los Charros is currently in 14^th place. If the Scoundrels can win and River Plate losses Rosario Central will take over 2^nd place.

It is all over but the shouting in the EPL. It is winding down in the Argentina Clausura.

Estudiantes looks like they have the inside track to win the title.

They took care of San Luis on Wednesday night with a 2-1 win.

This victory moved Estudiantes into first place with 36 points.

Argentinos Juniors is a point back in second place 35 points.

Argentinos Juniors doubled up on San Lorenzo 2-1.

This was a huge away win for them.

Godoy Cruz is in third place with 31 points.

Godoy lost to lower level club Rosario Central 2-1.

This lost may have cost them a shot at the title.

Godoy was in first place on May 17^th but since then they have lost two out of three.

This is a killer. 

The boys from River Plate are in 15^th place with 19 points. Los Millonarios picked up a rare 2-1 win over Velez Sarsfield on Friday April 30^th.

Los Xeneizos are a touch better in 14^th place with 20 points. Boca Juniors defeated Independiente 3-2.

Both River Plate and Boca Juniors have been playing like crap for the past few years.

It has been reported that Riquelme could be quitting Boca once the Clausura ends on May 16^th.

This could mark the end of great run for Juan Riquelme at Boca.

Football in America had this to say- One of the greatest players in the history of Argentine football,” was how one TV pundit described him a few weeks ago. It’s a huge epithet to bestow on any player, but in the case of Juan Roman Riquelme, it might be justified.

Riquelme further stated- “Sunday could be my last match for Boca at La Bombonera,” Riquelme told one of the country’s main football TV shows on Monday. “Normally given the current state of contract negotiations] I wouldn’t go on the post-season tour with the rest of the squad.”

Boca finally got off the schnid with a huge 2-0 win over San Lorenzo. Riquelme returned to action for the Los Xeneizes. He led Boca to the win. Riquelme fired a perfect header into the teeth of the box. Mate Matias Gimenez ripped the winner in the fourth minute to give Boca a 1-0 lead.

Riquelme fed his buddy Martin Palermo NOT! Palermo tickled the twines in the 71^st minute to secure the win.

Riquelme and Palermo hugged each other after the goal.

Did they bury the Hackett?

I doubt it.

Winning cures all problems.

River Plate reverted to their losing ways. Los Millonarios stunk the joint out in a 1-0 loss to Estudiantes.

River Plate cannot score or win on a consistent basis.

Argentinos Juniors blasted relegation bound Gimnasia La Plata 3-1.

Atletico Tucuman tied two all with Rosario Central. Tucuman was given their walking papers. Adios amigo.

The Clausura looks like this.

Top dog is Estudiantes with 33 points. Argentinos Juniors is in second place with 32 points. Godoy Cruz is third with 31 points.

River Plate dropped to 17^th place. Los Millonarios has 16 points.

Boca is a notch better. Los Xeneizes has 17 points.

It is sad to see Boca and River stinking the joint out but it is nice to see clubs like Godoy Cruz, Argentinos Juniors, and Estudiantes compete for the Clausura title.

Boca once again is stinking the joint out. Boca Juniors lost to relegation bound Gimnasia La Plata 1-0.

This is not good. After Abel Alves was given his walking papers Boca responded by thrashing Arsenal 4-0 on Monday.

Boca reverted to their old ways.

With the win Gimnasia moved out of the drop zone

Marco Perez was the hero for Gimnasia when he nailed as screamer of a free kick to seal the deal.

Los Xeneizes are falling apart at the seams. Stars Martine Palermo and Riquelme are fighting. This resulted in Boca losing to bottom feeder Gimnasia.

However, Gimnasia now can breath somewhat easier for they are a step above the heave-hoe zone.

San Lorenzo shut out Huracan 3-0. Newell’s Old Boys and Rosario Central tied nil-nil.

Racing beat Velez Sarsfield 3-1.

River Plate finally tickled the twines. Los Millonarios beat front-runner Godoy 2-1.

Surprise, surprise, surprise River finally came away with a win. It only took River Plate almost a month.

The loss dropped Godoy Cruz outta first place to fourth. Godoy has 28 points.

Estudiantes is in first place with 30 points. Independiente has 30 points too but Estudiantes has a better goal difference a plus fourteen to a plus eight.

Argentinos Juniors is in third place with 29 points.

Argentinos and Arsenal de Sarandi tied two all on Monday.

A funny thing happened on the way to Barcelona. Our guys from Arsenal were missing their key players. It was a slaughter. Barca handed us our lunch 4-1.

What did you expect miracles.

The Gunners were without Fabregas, Alex Song, and Andrea Arshavin.

Jeez, this is like sending the lamb out to fight the wolves armed with a butter knife.

We never had a chance.

This is similar to a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.

Lionel Messi hit for the quadruple.

My grandmother could have done that against an injury depleted squad.

She’s been dead since 1976.

Messi is good but lets see how he would have done against our best.

Nicholas Bendtner scored Arsenal’s lone tally in the 18^th minute.

This was good but it went downhill from there.

Injuries are killing us.

Enough said on this subject.

In the Clausura Boca Juniors is a race to see how fast they can stink the joint out. Boca gave up a late goal to Rosario Central and wound up losing 2-1.

River Plate lost to Lanus 1-0.

Both River and Boca stink to high heaven.

Godoy Cruz shut out Velez Sarsfield 2-0.

Boca is hovering near the bottom of the table.

Boca is in 18^th place with 11 points.

Rosario Central is in 19^th with 11 points as well however; Boca is a minus six while Rosario Central is a minus seven.

River Plate is in 16^th place with 12 points.

Independiente sits atop the table with 27 points. Godoy Cruz is in second place with 24 points. Argentinos Juniors is third with 22 points.

Now the teams that have stunk the joint like Argentinos Juniors and Godoy are flying high while top clubs Boca and River are bottom feeders.
