Man City finally was able to crack the code in the 74th minute to move City into the semifinals of the FA Cup against cross-town foe Man U.

Micah Richards header off a set piece sealed the deal for City.

Mate David Silva nailed a corner kick into the center of the box.

Bing, bam, boom into the back of the net.

Reading put up a hell of fight.

The choo-choo guys had several scoring chances but couldn’t hit the winner.

This should be a wild affair at Wembley Stadium between City and Man U.

Stoke City defeated West Ham 2-1 to advance to the semifinals também.

Danny Higginbotham rifle of shot bounces off the keeper Robert Green and squeezes just inside the post in the 63rd minute to lift the Potters to the win.

Stoke City will take on Birmingham in the other semifinal match.

Up next is a Champions League for Sir Alex and the boys and Chelsea.

Man U battles Marseille at Old Trafford while Chelsea tackles Copenhagen at Stamford Bridge.

This is it from The De Futebol Zone.

Gunner and Flamenguista for life.

We pulled another rabbit out of hat. Arsenal was just missing by that much throughout the match. Then magic presto Alex Song’s great header off a well placed dribble drive thru ball by mate Gael Clichy in the 88th minute gave the Gunners a much needed 1-0 win over West Brom.

Song’s diving header connected with the pass.

Keeper Robert Green never had a chance.

Green all match long made death defying saves all match long.

This was very frustrating for the Gunner nation.

This was a must win for Arsenal.

Chelsea defeated Blackburn 2-1.

This was a hard fought match.

Both sides went at it tooth and nail.

This was a very chippy match.

Albion’s Scott Parker had in for several Gunners. His favorite targets were Cesc Fabregas and Marouane Chamakh.

For a moment, I thought punches might be exchanged.

Headman Arsene Wenger has this to say about the Gunners late goal that gave us the win.

“When you win with two minutes to go, it is always a relief,” Wenger said. “We needed to be patient, intelligent and not to make a mistake at the back against a team who had a strong spirit and were well organised. We did not do anything stupid, kept trying to be intelligent and that got us the goal.

“I was thinking it was one of those days when the ball went onto the post and came back into the goalkeeper’s hands, that is not a good sign. But we kept going and out of this game we have once again shown a great attitude.”

Brasilian Denilson was inserted into the match in the 67th minute. He had very a good match against West Brom.

Wenger said this- www.arsenal.com Denilson had three good games this week – he played the whole 90 minutes at Manchester City, the whole 90 minutes at Newcastle and he did quite well today because he defended very well at the moment everybody went forward. But Jack can play with Denilson, he can play with Song, I have good potential for rotation and don’t forget we have Diaby who can come back too.

Manchester City lost to Wolves 2-1.

This was a huge upset.

David Edward’s goal in the 57th minute was the match winner.

City’s hopes overtaking Chelsea came crashing down to earth on the pitch at Molineux stadium, Wolverhampton’s house.

The Red Devils took it to Tottenham at Old Trafford.

Goals by Vidac (31st) and Nani in the 84th minute gave Man U a 2-0 win over Spurs.

This just goes to show that newcomers that are trying to crash the party will many times not make past the entrance.

This was a huge win for Sir Alex’s side.

The mighty boys from Old Trafford are reeling from money problems and Wayne Rooney problems too.

Chelsea is still top dog with 25 points.

My Gunners are in second place with 20 points.

Man U is third with 20 points too.

Arsenal has a plus 12 while Man U has a plus 10.

City is fourth with 17 points.

Spurs are fifth with 15 points.

This is as another fine mess you’re gotten me into.

Gunner nation rules.

Yes, the basket counts and a foul.

Manchester United invited lowly West Ham to Old Trafford.

The host’s treated the Hammers to a shooting gallery.

Yes, my friend, the mighty boys from Old Trafford fired shot after shot after shot at West Ham keeper Robert Green.

It took a while before the Red Devils found the back of the net.

Ryan Giggs took it to the rack. Hammers defender Jonathan Spector was forced to tackle Giggs in the box. Whamo, bamo, It’s PK time. Rooney breaks his scoring drought in the 33rd minute,

This is the Wayne man’s first goal in five months.

The Hammers hung in there.

I mean, man it was rough out there for the Hammers.

This match was hard to watch.

The feeding frenzy was on.

Nani beat almost entire West Ham team in the 50th minute to make 2-nil Man U.

Juke right. Side step left. Step side right. Pause. Shift the ball to left. Fire. Bingo. Back of the net.

Nani made the entire Hammers side look ridiculous.

Berbatov added a great flying side ways bicycle kick into the back of the net in the 69th minute.

The deal was already sealed after the first goal.

The mighty boys from Old Trafford should have had a ton more goals but Hammers keeper Robert Green kept it a respectable massacre.

Man U is for real.

Chelsea and the rest better watch out.

The Red Devils have real team speed.

They can score.

The only problem is that super defender Rio Ferdinand is out.

Once he comes back watch out baby.

The other team to watch out for is my guys from Arsenal.

The young Gunners such as Theo Walcott are finding their stride.

With Walcott ripping the twines, watch out EPL.

The only bad news in Gunner land is that RVP is hurt.

Chelsea is beating up on the little old lady’s and the little sisters of the poor but let’s see what happens when the Blues get into the meat of their schedule.

Remember this Man U burned em in the Community Shield.

Last year Chelsea took it to the Red Devils.

This is a good indicator of what might be in store.

Double Bubble boil and trouble is the problem with Fabio Capello and his English chargers.

The Americans were out played for 75% of the match but Clint Dempsey’s gift of a goal in the late stages of the first half gave the Yanks a one all draw with the Three Lions.

America’s saving grace was keeper Tim Howard.

He is the only world-class player we have.

Thank our lucky stars Howard was on the top of his game. If not it could have been worse.

We will take it.

Landon Donovan played okay but for most of the match, he was a non-factor.

Steven Gerrard’s strike in the 4th minute put England up 1-nil.

This was set up by a great give and go.

Howard never had a chance.

He was hung out to dry by the American’s crappy “D”.

Clint Dempsey found the back of the net in the 40th minute. Keeper Robert Green should have stopped Dempsey’s shot. Instead, Green had a brain fart. He decided to do an imitation of Charlie Chaplin. The ball hits Green in the worse place the hands. Whamo, bamo the ball bounces off of his hands into the back of the net for a one all tie.

Green needs to be shot at dust for stupid play.

Argentina shut out Nigeria 1-0.

Maradona’s squad thoroughly out played Nigeria. The result should been at least 5-0.

This is not good for Argentinos.

If Argentina continues to play like this, they will not make it out of the group stage.

Gabriel Heinze diving header off a well place corner kick in the 6th minute was the difference.

Nigeria had several opportunities off the counter attack but they could not convert.

Maradona played five guys up front. This left the back line exposed. If Nigeria could have convert their limited chances Argentinos might have lost instead Maradona has to thank Nigeria’s ineptness.

Nigeria played like a team that didn’t want to be there. They played without heart. Nigeria looked they wanted to be at home.

South Korea killed Greece 2-0.

The South Korean’s flat out played pedal to the medal futebol.

Day two was full of surprises just as day one was.

No one expected England to tie with the United States.

Argentina barely got by Nigeria.

The Greeks stunk the joint out.

We have learned one important lesson so far in the World Cup.

Expect the unexpected.

Watch out for the dogs.

Tim Howard is one of the keepers in the world.

ESPN still suckers at broadcasting futebol.

Lalas and his buds Chris Fowler need to give up the ship and let someone who knows futebol do the grunt work.

At least ESPN had the good sense to let English announcers broadcast the matches. ABC should do the same.
