We’re back and that’s bad news for the rest of the futebol world. Yep we needed the time off to get our heads straight. So look out futebol world here we come.

Not much has changed in the EPL. Chelsea, Man U, and my guys from Arsenal are in a dogfight for the catbird seat.

The mighty boys from Old Trafford are a top the table with 72 points. Man U lost Bayern Munich in the 2-1 in the first stage of their quarterfinal match in Munich’s house on Tuesday.

The bad news is this. The Rooney man was hurt. If this puppy is serious Man U is in heap big do-do.

It turns out the Wayne man will miss the Chelsea match on Saturday.

This is not good.

This could kill Man U’s chances of a four peat.

We will see.

Chelsea and Man U have a huge match Saturday at Old Trafford. This could be for all the marbles.

This is a nut-cutting match.

The Blues are one point back with 71.

My guys Arsenal are in third place with 68.

The Gunners battle fourteenth place Wolverhampton on Saturday.

This is a tricky match.

The guys need to kick butt and take names.

We had a very disappointing one all tie with Birmingham our last time out.

This could have cost us but we will see.

Arsenal needs the three points.

Man U or Chelsea need loses or better yet a draw would work wonders.

At the end of Saturday we will know where we stand.

We are getting down to nut cutting time in the race for the EPL title. Man U is in the catbird seat with 66 points. Chelsea and Arsenal are tied for second with 64 points apiece however the Blues have a game in hand.

This part of the season is very tricky for the front-runners. This is the time of the season when teams at the lower end of table can come up and bite you in the butt.

Man U, Chelsea, and Arsenal better not have a let down.

This is for all the marbles.

The team that can win on the road and hold serve at home will win the Championship.

Don’t doubt me on this.

We need to come out blazing fire out of our butts and send West Ham home packing with a bad assed spanking big time.

We need the points.

This is not the kind and gentle explanation many folks are used to but this is the simple fact you have to win these suckers.

Kick butt. Take names. And win baby.

It is as simple as that.

Oh yes, one other thing. This is where we separate the pretenders from the contenders.

Arsenal is the real deal.

The biggie happens on Sunday. This is when Liverpool-Man U battle it out at Old Trafford.

The Reds have Man U’s number.

Liverpool has beaten Man U six straight times.

If the Reds beat em this time, this could really put a cramp in the Reds Devils dreams of a four peat.

Arsenal battles West Ham at Emirates on Saturday.

Chelsea has a hot date with Blackburn in the Rovers house in Elwood on Sunday

Chelsea has had big time troubles on the road.

The Blues will play their game in hand against Portsmouth at Pompey’s house-Fratton Park on Wednesday.

When it is all said and done, we have a clear picture how the title race will shake out by Wednesday March 24^th.

Bruno saved Flamenguistas bacon. Flamengo barely got by Vasco 1-0.

Superman stopped Dodo twice from finding the back of the net on PK’s in the 36^th and 66^th minutes.

Yes, the basket counts, and a foul.

Adriano scored on a non-existent penalty in the 51^st minute.

Vinicius Pacheco took it to the rack. Pacheco and Vasco keeper Fernando Prass collided. It should have been no harm no foul. The ref said no way Jose.

This was the difference in the match.

Adriano foi para a cobrança. E ao contrário de Dodô bateu bem. Goleiro para um lado, bola entrando carinhosamente no outro. Flamengo 1 a 0. Na comemoração, o Imperador tirou a camisa e mostrou uma mensagem: “Que Deus perdoe essas pessoas ruins”. O atacante recebeu cartão amarelo.

This was a huge win for Flamengo.

Yes, we played like crap but we picked up the all-important “W”.

UOL www.uol.com.br reported that this match between Gigante da Colina and Mengao was a showdown between Dodo and Adriano. UOL said Adriano was the winner. Flamengo e Vasco entraram em campo para tentar fazer com que seus principais jogadores – Adriano e Dodô, respectivamente, isolassem a má fase. Quem levou a melhor foi o Imperador que, mesmo sem ter uma atuação de encher os olhos, marcou de pênalti o gol do triunfo rubro-negro por 1 a 0 nesta chuvosa noite deste domingo no Maracanã, pelo Estadual do Rio. Pior para Dodô, que perdeu dois pênaltis, ampliou o momento turbulento e viu o goleiro flamenguista Bruno deixar o campo consagrado.

Liverpool took care of business at Anfield. The Reds demolished lowly Portsmouth 4-1. Fernando Torres hit the sweet spot twice. He nailed two winners in the 26^th and 77^th minutes.

This was a huge win for the Reds.

Liverpool is now squarely back in the race for the final Champions League spot.

Tottenham is in fourth place with 52 points in 29 matches. Liverpool is in fifth spot with 51 points in 30 games.

City is in sixth place with 50 points in 28 matches.

Man U held serve at Old Trafford. The Red Devils thrashed Fulham 3-0. The Rooney man hit the daily double.

He ripped the twines in the 46^th and 84^th minute.

Rooney has 32 goals on season. Rooney is ten goals behind Cristiano Ronaldo’s record setting 42 goals.

There are eight matches left. 

Dimitar Berbatov added a strike in the 89^th minute for some more icing on the cake.

Man U leap fogged into first place with the EPL with the win.

The mighty men from Old Trafford had numerous opportunities to find the back of the net but the Red Devils wasted them

Berbatov was the main culprit.

The return of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic has stopped the leaky Man U defense.

The Man U “D” is at full strength for the first time all season.

Nani had a great match as well.

He is the set up man.

Nani fired a dead on pass to Rooney to set up the first goal.

Man U has 66 points. Chelsea and Arsenal both have 64 points.

The race is one.

It sure looks like the title race will come down to the last match of the season.

Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal are firing on all cylinders.

I love it.

Man City may have saved their Champions League aspirations. City fell behind in 9^th minute when Sunderland’s Kenwyne Jones ripped the twines.

City fought back to salvage a tie in the 90^th minute.

Adam Johnson lofted a brilliant shot into the far left post to allow City to escape with a one all tie.

Wow. What a great match,

Way to snatch a tie from the jaws of victory.

The race for the final Champions League spot shakes out this way.

Tottenham is in fourth place with 52 points.

City is in fifth place with 50 points.

Liverpool is in sixth place with 48 points.

The Reds have a hot date on Monday with Pompey.

Arsenal did what we needed them to do. The Gunners picked up a huge road win.

Andre Arshavin put us ahead in the 14^th minute. Arshavin plowed his way through the Tigers “D”. He muscled a shot right into the teeth of the left corner to give us 1-0 lead.

Yes, the Gunners did struggle.

We had a hard time with the tight Hull City “D”.

Hull City picked up the equalizer in 28^th minute. 

Sol Campbell made a stupid challenge on Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink.

Jimmy Bullard nailed the PK to level this sucker up at one all.

The Gunners just couldn’t quite get the same rhythm and fluid play that we displayed in the demolition of FC Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Hull City’s George Boateng was given the heave-hoe in the 45^th minute.

We had the advantage but Arsenal couldn’t strike for pay dirt until the waning moments of the match.

Nicklas Bendtner struck for gold in the 90^th minute to give us the three points.

Whew, that was close.

Denilson fired a wicked shot on goal from thirty yards out. The Tigers keeper Boaz Myhill did his best to keep the shot out of the goal. Shot. Rebound. Score. Bendtner.

Three points for us.

Yes, sir re Bob.

We were not at our best but this just shows how tough the guys are. Arsenal kept at it until we found a way to win.

This is what championship teams do.

Chelsea started out slow before torching West Ham 4-1.

Didier Drogba hit for the daily double.

Alex led off the hit parade in the 16^th minute.

Florent Malouda hit the back of the net in the 77^th minute.

Tottenham picked a huge 3-1 home win over Blackburn.

Roman Pavlyuchenko struck twice in the 55^th and 85^th minutes to lead Spurs to the win.

Jermain Defoe started Tottenham off on the right foot with a dagger to the heart in the 45^th minute.

He one timed a header pass from mate Vedran Corluka.

Corluka’s header went through the crease to the eagerly awaiting Defoe.

Defoe was camped at the right post.

Birmingham fell behind to Everton 2-0 before rallying for a two all draw.

Cameron Jerome drew Blues close with a strike in the 26^th minute.

Craig Gardner scored his first Birmingham goal in the 51^st minute to give Blues a hard earned draw.

Stoke City and Aston Villa kissed their sister nil-nil.

Wolves defeated Burnley 2-1.

The race for the top spot looks like this.

Chelsea is in the catbird seat with 42 points. Arsenal is second with 42 points as well.

Chelsea has a plus 42 while we have a plus 38. Man U is in third place with 63 points.

The Red Devils and Fulham hook at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Blues have a game in hand.

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Man U are in the cross hairs. Arsenal has a hot date with Hull City on Saturday. We are on the road at Kingston Stadium.

The young cats are going to have to step up to the plate and knock it outta the park again.

We cannot afford to have a let down against the Tigers.

Hull City is fighting not to get the heave-hoe so they will be a dangerous foe especially in their house.

Once again, Andre Arshavin, Samir Nasri, and company needs to play lights out.

Three points are a must.

Wounded foes are very dangerous.

Chelsea has a home date with West Ham. This is a must win for the Blues. If Chelsea stumbles and falls, again at home this just might kill their title hopes.

What really might hurt Chelsea is the absence of keeper Petr Cech. Cech is out with a calf strain.

Ouch, that hurts.

Manchester United entertains Fulham at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are now firing on all cylinders. The Wayne man has stepped his game up a notch.

Rooney is taking names and then kicking butt.

Matches to watch are Tottenham-Blackburn, Stoke City-Aston Villa, and Birmingham-Everton.

Man U is atop the table with 63 points. Chelsea is second with 61 and Arsenal is third with 61. We are in third due to a plus 37-goal difference compared with Chelsea’s plus 39.

Let’s remember that Chelsea has a game in hand.

The race for the final Champions League is hot and heavy. Tottenham is in the catbird seat with 49 points. City has 39 points as well but the Spurs are a plus 23 while Man City is a plus 17.

Liverpool has 48 points.

Aston Villa has 45 and Birmingham has 43.

Manchester City battles Sunderland on Sunday.

Liverpool will try and be a rude host when Portsmouth comes a calling.

Arsenal picked up a huge 3-1 win over Burnley. Yes, this was a much-needed three points.

We started out with several great scoring opportunities. We were finally able to tickle the back of the net in the 34^th minute.

Cesc Fabregas rifled home a shot right through  the keepers Brian Jensen’s wickets to give us a 1-0 lead.

Samir Nasri set it up with a great chip shot right over the top of the Burnley defense.

Arsenal had one of those brain farts in the 50^th minute. Burnley’s David Nugent knocked home the equalizer to level this baby up at one all.

Mate Leon Cort headed a great pass to Nugent to set up the goal.

We seized the lead in the 60^th minute. Theo Walcott sniped home a perfect low ball. This shot flat out beat the keeper Brian Jensen to the right post.

Finally, Andre Arshavin put this baby out of reach in the 90^th minute with a perfect strike into the back of the net.

Not pretty but we will take it.

This gives Arsenal 61 points.

Bolton scored two first half goals and then held on to beat West Ham 2-1.

Jack Wilshere, on loan from Arsenal, fired home a close range shot in the 20^th minute for the Wanderers.

Kevin Davies ripped a header in the 10^th minute to start this sucker off right for Bolton.

Bolton now has 29 points. The Wanderers are currently in 13^th place. Bolton is five points from the drop zone.

Portsmouth is on the verge of getting shut down for good. Pompey picked a huge 2-0 win over Birmingham in the quarterfinals of the FA cup.

Frederick Piquionne hit the daily double, 67^th, 70^th minute, to make Pompey’s day.

This win is worth 600,000 pounds.

You gotta love it.

The dog saved their hide by beating a very good Birmingham club.

Manchester United has miss fired on all cylinders against Wolves so far.

The Red Devils dearly miss Wayne Rooney. Berbatov is a total waste of time

In a flash, the match changed. Nani broke free on the right side of the box. He fired a pass into the teeth of the Wolves goal line defense. Pinball machine time. Paul Scholes rifled home the point blank shot off a missed played clearance by defender Craddock in the 73^rd minute to give Man U a 1-0 lead.

This was follow the bouncing ball time.

This was a huge goal.

For it sure looked like Wolverhampton would salvage a point.

There is ten minutes left.

We will see what happens.

Manchester hung on for a 1-0 win against Wolves.

Manchester United is now in first place with 63 points.

Road wins are a premium in the EPL.

This was a biggie.

The Blues have a game in hand.

We are in a great position to win this baby.

Remember what I said earlier, Arsenal would win the title. So far so good for the Gunner nation.

We got the result we needed. All we have to do is beat Stoke City at Britannia later today and we are in like Flynn.

Us Arsenal fans know we can always blow it but I sure hope not.

Three points will give the Gunners 58 points. We will be three points behind Chelsea.

Chelsea had their lunch handed to them by Man City 4-2.

Three players hit the daily double City’s Bellamy, Tevez, and Chelsea’s Lampard.

Chelsea started out strong.

The Blues took the early lead on a powerful strike by Frank Lampard in the 42^nd minute.

The match changer happened right at the end of the first half.

A great block by City’s Wayne Bridge and whamo we are off to the races. Tevez breaks free and beats two Blues defenders.

The Carlos man hits a weak shot that rolls past the keepers Henrique Hilario’s outstretched paw. The ball does a slow roll into the back of net to level this sucker up at one all at break.

City was in charge after that.

Bellamy’s goal in the 51^st   minute made it 2-1.

Bellamy’s goal was the classic counter attack futebol. In a flash City was off to the races into the Blues end of the pitch.

This was Katie bar the door.

The Blues were hung out to dry when they pushed everyone into the offensive end of the pitch.

Tevez made it 3-1 after he nailed the PK in the 76^th minute.

Bellamy hit for the daily double in the 87^th minute.

Lampard added a cosmetic PK in the 90^th minute.

You gotta love this.

Chelsea blows apart at home.

The race is on.

All we have to do is win baby.

This is not the start I was looking for. Arsenal gave up an easy goal off a great throw in by Stoke City’s Rory Delap in the 8^th minute. Shawcross headed the ball to Danny Pugh. Pugh nailed the bounce close range header into the open net. Pugh was camped near the far left post. 

We are down 1-0.

This stinks big time.

We need to regroup. We need to attack and score.

Finally, Arsenal gets the equalizer from Nicklas Bendtner in the 32nd minute off a great pass from mate Cesc Fabregas.

Bendtner showed some serious hops when out leaped a couple of Stoke City defenders to ram home the header.

So, whatever we do lets not have a repeat performance of what happened here at Britannia in the fourth round of the FA Cup. We tied it up and gave up three-second half goals.

We are at the break. Arsenal and Stoke City are knotted up at one all.

We need to come out in the second half and smoke em badly.

This is totally insane. Stoke City’s Shawcross made a stupid challenge on Arsenal forward Aaron Ramsey.

Ramsey is leveled. Shawcross is given the heave-hoe in the 66^th minute.

Ramsey is carted off and sent to hospital. Ramsey’s leg is broke.

This is a killer.

The good news it is still one all.

We have the man advantage.

We finally got the break we needed. The guys applied a ton of pressure on Stoke City’s “D”. It paid off when Bendtner fired a shot into the box. Whamo, bamo, a handball by Pugh. A PK is given. Fabregas nailed the gimmie in the 90^th minute to give us the 2-1 lead.

Seven minutes of added time are to be played.

We tickled the twines in the 94^th minute to make 3-1.

Fabregas fired a great ball to Thomas Vermaelen. Vermaelen knocks home the walk in goal to salt this baby away.

Instead of going for the whole enchilada, Fabregas saw his mate was in a better position to score.

Yep, guys it’s in the books.

Three points for us.

This is a huge road win for the Gunners.

It is 3-1 for Arsenal.

Paybacks are a bitch aren’t they.

The race for the title is on baby.

It will be a full sprint to the finish between the Blues, Man U, and the Gunners.

Chelsea has 61 points. Man U has 60 and Arsenal has 58.

It is only two months into the 2010 futebol campaign for Sao Paulo. Tricolor has lots of problems and if they continue to play this way Sao Paulo will indeed have a very long year.

Rogerio Ceni recorded first blood for Sao Paulo. He nailed a screamer into the wall. Bing bam boom the shot comes flying off the wall into the back of the net. Once Caldas keeper Luis Martinez never had a chance to stop this sucker.

This made it 1-0 for Sao Paulo in the 33^rd minute.

With this goal, Ceni becomes Sao Paulo’s all time leading scorer with eleven goals in the Copa Libertadores.

Then the wheels fell off the wagon for Sao Paulo.

Once Caldas ratcheted up the pressure.

Once Caldas tied this baby up in the 49^th minute. Uribe flat out beat Tricolor defender Xandao. Wham bam boom, back of the net for Uribe and we are even at one all.

Once Caldas took the lead when Moreno ran rings around the Sao Paulo “D”. He ripped the twines in the 71^st minute to give Once Caldas a 2-1 lead.

This was all she wrote.

Stick a fork in Sao Paulo for they are surely done.

Once Caldas has six points after two matches. Sao Paulo has three points.

For the past few weeks, Sao Paulo has been playing horrible futebol. Sure, Tricolor is in second placed in Group Two but Sao Paulo has dropped two straight matches.

Sao Paulo has lost to Portuguesa, Palmeiras, and Santos in the Campeonato Paulista.

Tricolor is currently in sixth place with 17 points. Tricolor trails Torneo Paulista leader Santos by eight points.

Lets shift gears for a moment. We have two huge matches on Saturday in the EPL.

The biggie is Chelsea and Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. City is coming off a hard loss to Stoke City in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

The Blues lost to Inter 2-1. This was a hard fought tangle between the Blues and Inter in the first stage of the Champions League knockout round.

Both goals given up by Chelsea were bitter pills to swallow for the Blues. Jose Mourinho Inter’s headman is the former Blues boss who took them to EPL glory.

Will this disappointment bite Chelsea in the butt?

We will find out.

The Blues are unbeaten at home and have only been scored on eight times by the opposition at Stamford Bridge.

Goals will hard to come by for City.

Manchester City will have Carlos Tevez. This should provide an offensive spark for City.

The Blues will be without Petr Cech, torn calf muscle, and Ashley Cole, broken ankle.

I can’t wait to see who dictates the match.

Will it be Tevez or Drogba?

You can sure bet there will be a ton of fireworks on the pitch with these two very intense players battling it out.

We have a huge match with Stoke City at Britannia Stadium on Saturday. The Gunners will have the services of Eduardo available however; we will be without Gallas, Diaby, and Arshavin. This could hurt us deeply if we are not careful.

Fabregas and the guys need to come through big time.

Road wins are a premium in the EPL.

We need to win this baby.

Three points are a must.

When the dust finally settles on Saturday we will have a clearer picture of how the race shaped up for the title run.

Man U has already won.

The pressure is squarely on Chelsea and Arsenal to keep up pace.

All we need is for Chelsea to have a brain fart and lose at home and we’re in like Flynn.

Manchester United had their entire season riding on the line in this match against West Ham at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

This was one of those matches if the Red Devils lost you can surely stick a fork in their season and their chances of a four peat.

Man U came away with a hard fought 3-0 win over West Ham.
Wayne Rooney hit for the daily double.

Both of Rooney’s goals were a thing of beauty.  The Wayne man nailed a point blank header in the 38^th minute. A great cross into the goal area by Antonio Valencia set up this goal.

The Rooney man and Valencia teamed up again in the 55^th minute for a repeat performance.  Valencia fired another perfect ball into the goalmouth. Rooney nailed the close range header.

Michael Owens goal in the 80^th minute was the icing on the cake for Man U.

Paul Scholes set up Owen’s goal with a great through ball.

The only bad news is that Brasilian Anderson wrenched his knee. We don’t know the seriousness of the injury. After an MRI Man U will find out how bad it really is.

Man U is almost unbeatable at home yet when the Red Devils hit the road they can’t win to save their lives.

Man U jumped out to an early 1-0 against Everton. Then the unthinkable happened the Toffees put the screws to the Red Devils by scoring the next three goals to win 3-1.

This was the first time Man U lost a match after they scored first.

The Red Devils are 12-1-1 at home and 7-2-5 on the road.

Man U cut Chelsea’s lead to one point.

Chelsea has 61 points. The Red Devils have 60. My guys Arsenal have 55.

Both Chelsea and the Gunners have huge encounters coming up on Saturday and Sunday.

The Blues battle Man City at home in Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Arsenal takes an all important road trip to Britannia Stadium to take on Stoke City on Sunday.

We have to win this sucker.

Arsenal cannot afford a slip up.

Three points are a must.

The title is in sight for Arsenal.

Six points are not that big of a difference.

All we have to do hold serve at home and win sixty percent of our matches on the road.

With ten matches left after Sunday the Blues will surely lose at two maybe three, more matches.
