In one of the wildest Community Shield matches in a long time Man U and cross-town rival and hated foe Man City engaged in a nail biter.
City jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the bell struck twelve.
Sir Alex and the boys looked dead in the water.
The Citizens were on the verge of blowing out their derby foe.
Low and behold the Red Devils came out breathing fire in the second half.
Man U scored two goals in a span of twelve minutes to level this sucker at two all.
Nani nailed the match winner in the dying moments of the match to give Sir Alex and his boys a wild 3-2 win over City.
Yes, this was well worth the price of admissions.
This was the final warm up for both clubs before the season begins in earnest next Saturday August 13th.
Nani hit the daily double.
Chris Smalling added a goal in the 52 minute.
City jumped on Man U early scoring in the 38th and 45th minutes.
Joleon Lescott nailed a header off a perfect centering pass delivered by mate David Silva.
Red Devil David de Gea never had a chance.
The Citizens second goal in the 45th minute. This tricky shot made keeper Gea look like a fool and a clown.
Edin Dzeko strike from thirty yards out did a little dipsy dew at the last possible moment.
Gea was a late reacting to the shot.
Instead of getting his body in front of it Gea reach to push the low ball away but this sucker kept curling and curling before it nestled safely between the left post and the back of the net.
Up 2-0 this puppy looked over.
Not.
Man U proved why they are one of the top clubs in the world.
This match was chippy from the outset.
The ref issued yellow cards to City in the 19th, 22nd, 34th, 55th and 60th minutes.
The Red Devils will be a fast and furious squad this year. With the additions of Smalling’s, Ashley Young, and Danny Welbeck Man U will be a tough out.
The only weakness could be in goal with David de Gea.
Replacing Edwin van der Sar will be a difficult task.
Gea is only twenty years old.
He shows promise but the learning curve could take some time.
The gaffes could be many.
Sir Alex said this about de Gea gaffe on the Dzeko goal- “Well, it was bending a little bit … it’s difficult to say.”
The boss man added this- “No, football is football here and in any country. I have to adapt quickly and improve on the whole of my game.
“The two goals we conceded in the first half stopped us in our tracks but in the second half we were able to claw back and I think that’s the important thing. I’m very happy about the victory.”]
Sir Alex said this about the clubs comeback- “I certainly thought our performance throughout was very good in terms of the football. I couldn’t believe we were 2-0 down at half-time after it looked to me like we were controlling the game. But credit to the players, they kept their heads, played football and got the result we deserved.”
Nani said about his daily double- “This is United, we all believe until the last minute and the attitude of the lads in the second half was that everyone believed we could score. It is good to play against Man City and win like that. I think our fans today will be so proud of us, it is a beautiful day to enjoy.”
Bring it on the season begins August 13th.

This is it folks. Two weeks and the EPL season begin.
On Sunday August 7th the Community Shield will feature EPL champs Man U verses cross-town and hated rival Man City winners of the FA Cup.
This sucker will be an old fashioned barnburner.
Sir Alex and the boys defeated Barcelona 2-1 in the World Football Challenge played in Landover, Maryland.
The Catalans didn’t play Messi and some of their top players but Barca displayed why they will be a force to be reckoned with in Spain and the Champions League.
Man U improved on the defensive end of the pitch.
Barca put a tone of pressure on the Red Devil “D”.
The Catalans only cracked the code once.
Man U has a deadly counter attack.
Nani is cat quick.
He just glides down the pitch.
Rooney played like Rooney.
Goals by Nani and Michael Owen paved the way for the Red Devils win.
Thiago scored for the Catalans in the 70th minute.
City won the Dublin Super Cup.
Man City destroyed both their opponents Airtricity 3-0 and Inter Milan 3-0.
City is for real folks.
Chelsea won the Asia Cup.
The Blues beat EPL rival Aston Villa 2-1.
My Gunners are in a world of hurt.
Once again the stupid defending rose up and bit us in the ass.
After Robin Van Persie scored 42nd minute to give us a 1-0 lead.
I thought great.
Then the wizards of stupid took over for Arsenal.
An own goal by Kyle Barton 84th minute gave of all clubs the MLS side the New York Red Bulls the Emirates Cup.
The Red Bulls defeated French side Paris St. Germain 1-0 on Saturday.
This sucks big time.
The Gunner nation could be in for a long hard assed season of heartbreak.
Wenger had this to say about the Arsenal’s crappy performance- It was a bit frustrating that it was only forwards against defence. They played very deep and didn’t come out. But it’s part of the game. I felt we looked quite stable as long as we were not making any disturbances in our organisation. The final 20 minutes were a bit like yesterday, you could see the continuity in our game went. Overall, I am very happy with the two days because we were confronted with two teams who were very committed, very physical and very strong defensively. We were tested. On both days, we played very well for an hour. We have nothing more to offer at the moment. Hopefully that will change in the next two weeks.
Arsene Wenger added this about Vermaelen and Koscielny-I felt the two centre backs were very good, in my opinion, and played very well. I am quite happy with the performance of the centre backs. If you look at the goal we conceded today, I don’t think it comes from the centre backs.
Asked about this results tells us – I don’t think you can compare friendly games. They played in the final third today. We weren’t playing in the championship where you have to win games. It’s not the same. Today they just had to keep it tight at the back and wait for their chances. They did very well but when you go into your championship and you are expected to make the game, to take the initiative, it becomes a different game.
Jack Wilshire was hurt in the puppy- It is not very serious. They say he might be out for the whole of next week because he has an ankle inflammation. But he has not torn anything. He is a quick healer usually and a tough boy so I hope he will be quicker than the medical predictions. The England game is on August 10 and I don’t know [whether he will be available]. They told me he might be out next week. If he is out next week, he will not play against Benfica so he will certainly not play for England.
All of this BS is fine and dandy in coach speak. In the real world it is bupkis- não serve para nada.
This is pure bull crap.
Gunner nation has heard all of this before.
It is SOS – Same old shit.
Wenger needs to go.
Arsenal has the same problems it did last year and the year before that and the year before that.
Need I say more.
I am tired of this garbage.
A change is needed at the top.
This is pure insanity.
Insanity means doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.
The Gunners are nuts.

Once again, the mighty boys from Old Trafford came up firing blanks in the first leg of the Champions League knockout stage.
Man U and Marseille tied nil-nil.
Man U can play great one time and stink the joint out the next.
Sir Alex and his guys used their top line of Rooney, Berbatov, and Nani.
Sure, the Red Devils had their chances but they couldn’t dent the back of the net.
The only saving grace was Man U’s defense.
Vidic and the boys had a stellar performance.
Missing from the back line was Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs.
Still a tie is better than a loss.
An away goal from the Red Devils would have been good but not on this day.
The second leg is at Old Trafford on March 15th.
Sir Alex had this to say about the tie- I think it was very lucky. The referee’s in a good position and I don’t know why he didn’t give us a free-kick and then the decision is straightforward – it’s a red card.”
On his teams performance-”On our ground we will be much better. Scoring away from home is always important and we didn’t do that tonight.
“You always worry at this stage of the season because there are no bad teams left in the competition, but we will have two or three players back and, whilst we won’t be taking anything for granted, this result is fine.
”Marseille made sure they did not lose. It was a poor game for the spectators. Nothing happened.”
About Rooney’s play- He did what we wanted him to do,” he said. “The way we normally set up, with Nani or Ryan Giggs on the left, gives us more natural width, but Wayne worked hard, as he always does.
“He has great spirit but he was better when we played him through the middle in a 4-4-2 at the end.”
This wasn’t a great performance but it will pass.

Sir Alex land is complete disarray. Sure, Man U beat Bursaspor 1-0.
The only tally of match came in the 7th minute.
Nani ripped the twines with a great left foot shot from just outside the box. The shot was a laser that found the mark the bottom left corner.
Other than this Man U is não serve para nada.
Rooney foi não presta para nada também.
The Wayne man is on his way out. Rooney is quotes as saying the Red Devils suck big time.
They have no focus and couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn with a machine gun or a howitzer.
Nani is now the new golden child for Sir Alex.
This is insanity.
Rooney is truly a great player but he is on the downside of forty.
Rooney has played well over two hundred matches in the past two years.
This is way too many matches.
The mighty boys from Old Trafford are in deep do-do.
Man U may finished outside the top six this year.
Man U hasn’t lost a match but they have blown five leads that have resulted in five ties.
This is not good.
Man U will struggle big time this year.
There is trouble in Man U city.
Spurs fell behind 4-0 to Internazional before closing with a fury to make a close 4-3 win for the Italian side.
Gareth Bales nature hat trick may have saved Tottenham’s bacon.
These three away goals could be huge for Spurs.
Tottenham is currently in second place in Group A.
Man U is top dog in Group C with seven points.
Celtic is in second place with five points.
Chelsea is número primeiro in Group F with nine points.
Arsenal sits atop Group H with nine points.
The EPL teams have only one loss between them all.
Way to go garoto.

Man U is perfect on the road. The mighty boys from Old Trafford have no wins, no losses, and four ties on the road this season.
Man U and Sunderland ended in nil-nil tie at the Stadium of Light.
Edwin van de Sar made a key save in the 16th minute to preserve the scoreless sheet.
Bolo Zenden hit the post in the 82nd minute. Almost, coulda, woulda but not on this day.
Dimitar Berbatov nailed a winner but the zebras called him for offsides.
Man U is living dangerously on the road.
Sir Alex didn’t start his best side.
Rooney and Berbatov didn’t start.
Rooney didn’t play at all.
Michael Owen and Nani were the only real strikers.
Rio Ferdinand was back to anchor the “D”.
Something is a miss here. Man U is sitting back and depending on the “D” to win the day.
At some point in time, this tactic will bite the Red Devils in the butt.
The point pulls Man U to within two points of Chelsea.
Tottenham defeated Aston Villa 2-1.
Rafael Van der Vaart hit for the daily double to lead Spurs to the all-important win at home- White Hart Lane.
Everton finally picked up win.
The Toffees defeated Birmingham 2-0.
Wigan picked a huge 2-0 win over Wolverhampton.
The Lactics moved up to 13th place.

Manchester United’s road woes continue.
The Red Devils fell behind twice before Michael Owen’s goal in the 74th minute secured a two all tie.
Man U cannot win on the road.
Three road dates.
Three ties.
If this trend continues, the Red Devils will not win the title.
The Wanderers drew first blood in the 9th minute.
Zat Knight ripped the twines to give the Trotters a 1-0 lead.
Nani found the answer in the 23rd minute this baby at one all.
Bolton regained the lead in the 67th minute.
Enter Michael Owen to save the day.
Owen’s goal in the 74th minute saved the day for Man U.
Manchester United is a club in deep trouble.
The Red Devils have given up nine goals in six matches.
This is not good.
Rio Ferdinand didn’t play.
Without the captain of the “D Man U is mess defensively.
The Red Devils had a chance to cut the gap between them and first place Chelsea not on this day.
Chelsea is still top dog with 15 points.
Man U is second with 12 and my Gunners are in third with 11 points.
Man City has eleven points but Arsenal has a better goal difference.
Gunners are a plus nine.
City is a plus five.

Manchester United invited lowly West Ham to Old Trafford.
The host’s treated the Hammers to a shooting gallery.
Yes, my friend, the mighty boys from Old Trafford fired shot after shot after shot at West Ham keeper Robert Green.
It took a while before the Red Devils found the back of the net.
Ryan Giggs took it to the rack. Hammers defender Jonathan Spector was forced to tackle Giggs in the box. Whamo, bamo, It’s PK time. Rooney breaks his scoring drought in the 33rd minute,
This is the Wayne man’s first goal in five months.
The Hammers hung in there.
I mean, man it was rough out there for the Hammers.
This match was hard to watch.
The feeding frenzy was on.
Nani beat almost entire West Ham team in the 50th minute to make 2-nil Man U.
Juke right. Side step left. Step side right. Pause. Shift the ball to left. Fire. Bingo. Back of the net.
Nani made the entire Hammers side look ridiculous.
Berbatov added a great flying side ways bicycle kick into the back of the net in the 69th minute.
The deal was already sealed after the first goal.
The mighty boys from Old Trafford should have had a ton more goals but Hammers keeper Robert Green kept it a respectable massacre.
Man U is for real.
Chelsea and the rest better watch out.
The Red Devils have real team speed.
They can score.
The only problem is that super defender Rio Ferdinand is out.
Once he comes back watch out baby.
The other team to watch out for is my guys from Arsenal.
The young Gunners such as Theo Walcott are finding their stride.
With Walcott ripping the twines, watch out EPL.
The only bad news in Gunner land is that RVP is hurt.
Chelsea is beating up on the little old lady’s and the little sisters of the poor but let’s see what happens when the Blues get into the meat of their schedule.
Remember this Man U burned em in the Community Shield.
Last year Chelsea took it to the Red Devils.
This is a good indicator of what might be in store.

Fulham bit Manchester United twice in the butt to comeback for a two all draw.
This is not good for the mighty boys of Old Trafford.
Man U’s road woes still continue.
Three points were a must but a draw is better than a loss.
Scholes scored the first goal of the match in the 11th minute.
Paul Scholes fired a deadly strike from 30 yards out.
Berbatov set it with a great pass.
Fulham found the equalizer in the 57th minute.
Fulham pressed the attack.
The Cottagers Duff made a mad rush up the right sideline. He got past Man U defender Evra. Duff laid the ball off for mate Bobby Zamora. Zamora fed Davies.
Davies beat the naked keeper Van der Sar.
Man U scored the go ahead goal in the 84th minute.
Ryan Giggs fired a wicked shot into the goalmouth. Fulham’s Brede Hangeland deflected the ball into his own net.
2-1 Man U.
The match changer happened in the 86th minute.
Man U was given a PK.
Nani fired the shot right at keeper David Stockdale.
Block. Save.
This miss cost the mighty boys from Old Trafford the match.
The Cottagers nailed the equalizer three minutes later in the 89th minute.
Hangeland headed home a brilliantly placed corner kick by mate Duff.
This killed Man U.
Stupid mistakes killed the Red Devils.
Bad defending was the key.
The two goals were the result of poor marking and no help side defense.
This tie may have cost the Man U a shot at the title.
Road wins not ties are the key.
This is a stumble however this is not fatal.
Newcastle killed Aston Villa 6-0.
De Futebol
Chelsea has pretty much wrapped up the EPL title today with a resounding 2-0 win over Liverpool.
The Reds played like crap.
Steven Gerrard stupid backwards pass in the 33rd minute sealed the Reds fate.
Didier Drogba took the gift and scored what was essentially the match winner.
Frank Lampard added the seal of approval in the 53rd minute.
The title is the Blues unless something really crazy happens next Sunday at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool was not going to give the title to the hated guys from Old Trafford.
Revenge is sweet.
The Reds gave the title to the Blues instead.
Nani scored the only goal of the match in the 28th minute.
This win still gives Man U glimmer of hope for a historic four-peat.
I wouldn’t bet the farm on it.
Dimitar Berbatov wasted three great scoring chances. This guy stinks to high heaven.
The surprise of the match was this. Wayne Rooney played. I didn’t think this would happen.
The Rooney man manned up and played.
It all comes down to Sunday May 9th.
All Chelsea has to do is beat Wigan at Stamford Bridge.
Wigan will not, I repeat will not beat Chelsea.
Man U needs beat Stoke City at Old Trafford and hope the Blues lose.
NOT!
De Futebol
Manchester United has done it. The Red Devils defeated Tottenham 3-1 at Old Trafford minus Wayne Rooney. The Rooney man is out at least three weeks said headman Sir Alex.
Rooney has an injured groin.
Ouch, that hurts.
This did not deter Man U. Ryan Giggs nailed two PK’s in the 58th and 85th minutes. Nani nailed a perfect looping shot over the keepers Gomes head in the 81st minute to send the Red Devils to a much needed win.
This squarely puts the pressure on Chelsea to beat Stoke City on Sunday.
Spurs needed this win badly too. But Tottenham could not find the answer after Nani’s goal in the 81st minute.
A great pass by youngster Federico Macheda set up Nani’s goal.
This loss could have cost Tottenham the final berth in the Champions League.
This will all depend on how the match turns out between my guys Arsenal and Manchester City later today.
Man U is now top dog with 79 points.
The Mighty boys from Old Trafford have two matches left.
Oh what a relief it is.
Spurs have a two-point lead over City. This could change after today.
Both City and Spurs have a game in hand. They will play their game in hand against each other on May 5th.
You gotta love it.
It may come down to this match to decide who gets the final Champions League spot.
This was not the result we were looking for. Arsenal and City kissed their sister nil-nil. Both sides had limited chances.
For my perspective, it looked like we were playing not to lose. It was good to see Van Persie back in the lineup.
The Gunners seemed just out of synch. We had a majority of the possessions but Arsenal could not connect.
Real scoring chances were few and far between.
A tie is cool but we need the big “W”.
Van Persie played okay. He needed to get his sea legs.
He’s got em.
I am I happy with the result no but I will take it.
Tottenham can thank their lucky stars that City didn’t pull off the upset win.
Spurs can breath a little bit easier.
Tottenham has 64 points. City is a point back at 63. Villa has 61 points and the Reds have 59 points.
Villa entertains Birmingham and Liverpool battles Burnley on Sunday.
If both sides can win, the race for the final Champions League spot will be a real logjam.
West Ham scored a late goal to lift the Hammers past Wigan 3-2.
The Hammers are six points clear of the drop zone.
Portsmouth is outta here.
Burnley and Hull City looks like they might get their tickets punched as well.
We will see.
Hull City lost to Sunderland 1-0.
I don’t see Burnley pulling off upset city against the Reds.
Stranger things have happened.
