De Futebol
Boca Juniors has really hit stink city over the past few years. Los Xeneizos finally picked up a win. Boca Juniors Juan Roman Riquelme hit the match winner in the 60th minute to defeat Colon 1-0.
This was Los Xeneizos second win of season.
Boca has two wins, one draw, and four losses.
Los Xeneizos is currently in 17th place.
River Plate is getting better.
Los Millionaires is currently in fourth place with 12 points.
Top dog is Estudiantes with 15 points in the Clausura.
The past five years Argentinos futebol has been turned on its ear.
Super powers Boca Juniors and River Plate have been stinking the joint out badly.
Martin Palermo says Boca “Has hit rock bottom.”
Palermo went to on say- “Everyone has a limit and after that they explode,” Palermo said. “The fans exploded. I’ve never seen this kind of anger from the fans since I have been at Boca. We changed players, coaches and playing schemes – and the fans still have no results.
“I share completely the worry of the fans. It’s not just them. It touches me and the team. In my years with the club, this is the worst moment. We’ve hit rock bottom.”
Boca has won four Copa titles in eight years but the last Los Xeneizos Copa title came in 2008.

De Futebol
The dirty cheating French were sent home packing.
The big bad French boys lost to lowly South Africa 2-1.
This was an utterly horrible display of futebol that I have seen in many a moon.
If you remember it was Zinedine whose world famous head butt cost the French the 2006 World Cup title.
The French cheated into the World Cup now the Frogs are paying the price for their lying cheating ways.
I love it.
France has no wins, one draw, and two losses.
Voce Vai.
Uruguay won Group A by defeating Mexico 1-0.
Both Mexico and Uruguay both advance to the knockout round.
South Africa finished their World Cup play with one win, one loss, and one tie.
Both Mexico and South Africa were tied with four points each but Mexico advanced on a better goal difference.
Mexico has a plus one while South Africa is a minus 2.
Good show South Africa.
Argentina scored two late second half goals en route to a 2-1 win over Greece.
Argentinos breezed thru Group B gobbling up the full amount of points six.
Maybe Maradona is learning how to manage big time futebol.
Messi was used as the lone striker while Tevez was given the day off.
Argentina has the strongest strike force in the world-Messi, Tevez, and Higuain.
Add to the mix Maxi Rodriguez, Martin Palermo, and Gabriel Heinze and Argentina is down right dangerous.
Argentina still has a great shot to win the World Cup.
It would be great to have a Brasil-Argentina World Cup final.
Here’s some food for thought.
The South American clubs have not lost a single match.
Brasil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, and Paraguay are showing the rest of the world where the real futebol powers are.
It sure as hell isn’t in Europe.
England, France, Italy, Germany are playing like crap.
They stink.
Nigeria and South Korea tied at two all.
South Korea gets their ticket punched to the knockout stage.
De Futebol
Boca finally got off the schnid with a huge 2-0 win over San Lorenzo. Riquelme returned to action for the Los Xeneizes. He led Boca to the win. Riquelme fired a perfect header into the teeth of the box. Mate Matias Gimenez ripped the winner in the fourth minute to give Boca a 1-0 lead.
Riquelme fed his buddy Martin Palermo NOT! Palermo tickled the twines in the 71st minute to secure the win.
Riquelme and Palermo hugged each other after the goal.
Did they bury the Hackett?
I doubt it.
Winning cures all problems.
River Plate reverted to their losing ways. Los Millonarios stunk the joint out in a 1-0 loss to Estudiantes.
River Plate cannot score or win on a consistent basis.
Argentinos Juniors blasted relegation bound Gimnasia La Plata 3-1.
Atletico Tucuman tied two all with Rosario Central. Tucuman was given their walking papers. Adios amigo.
The Clausura looks like this.
Top dog is Estudiantes with 33 points. Argentinos Juniors is in second place with 32 points. Godoy Cruz is third with 31 points.
River Plate dropped to 17th place. Los Millonarios has 16 points.
Boca is a notch better. Los Xeneizes has 17 points.
It is sad to see Boca and River stinking the joint out but it is nice to see clubs like Godoy Cruz, Argentinos Juniors, and Estudiantes compete for the Clausura title.
