You gotta read the headlines in the Brasileiros press about Flamengo’s latest killing at the hands of Atletico-MG. You gotta believe that Mengao is trying their damnedest to get sent packing.

Rubro-Negro had their hands handed to them by Atletico-MG 4-1.

This sucker was over from the get go.

Flamengo didn’t even bother to show up.

Rubro-negro sat back and counter attacked.

Mengao’s keeper Marcelo Lomba can’t stop a shot to save his life. Lomba is not Bruno. If Bruno was playing Flamengo would have at least a fifty-fifty chance to win. Now it is more like a 35% chance to win.

This was a typical phone it in job.

Flamenguista nation is mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore.

This was a pay back time for Galo. Former headman Luxemburgo left Atletico-MG in September 2009. Galo was on the verge of getting the heave-hoe. Luxemburgo is Mengao’s headman.

Era um time fadado ao fracasso, com malas prontas para a Segunda Divisão. Não é mais. Apesar de estar melhor na tabela, foi o Rubro-Negro quem saiu de campo abalado com o risco de queda. Neste sábado, na Arena do Jacaré, em Sete Lagoas, pela 35ª rodada, o sentimento dos mineiros foi de vingança e redenção. Já o dos cariocas foi de saudade dos tempos em que seu ataque fazia gols. O Galo impôs uma goleada de 4 a 1, impiedosa, em tom de desabafo. Foi, sem dúvida, uma vitória para Luxemburgo ver. A ameaça de rebaixamento ainda existe, mas a equipe sobe para a 14ª posição, com 39 pontos, e respira. O Fla é o 13º com 40.

Lot’s of fun stuff to talk about today.

Lets start with the Campeonato.

Fluminense is top dog with 61 points. Second place belongs to Corinthians with 60 points. Sitting in third place is Cruzeiro with 60 points também. Timao has a better goal difference. Corinthians has a plus 21 while Raposa is a plus 12.

Mengao is buried in 13^th place with 40. Flamengo is a perfect zero goal difference yet this is a deceiving number.

In our last four matches, Rubro-Negro has given up five goals while scoring only four.

This is a minus one.

Flamengo “D’ has been suspect all year. At times Mengao has looked great while times we looked like a machine gun riddled body.

Marcelo Lomba has taken over for super keeper Bruno in June of this year. Bruno is the hoosegow for murder. Lomba is good but he ain’t no Bruno.

Bruno was bad at times but he could flat out play keeper.

Flamengo sorely misses the murdering bastard.

There are four matches left in the season.

Our title hopes are dead but we need to win two out of our last four matches to avoid the drop-dead zone.

Up on Saturday is Atletico-MG at Galo’s house in Mineiro.

Galo is one-step above the voce vai zone.

Atletico-MG has 36 points.

A win would give Galo 39 points.

It’s all about the “W’s” baby.

Fading superstar Ronaldo drew first blood for Corinthians but Flamengo came back to get the equalizer in the second half to salvage a one all draw with Timao.

You have to admit the fat one showed his greatness when he ripped the twines in the 30^th minute.

He spun and fired a one timer past the helpless keeper Marcelo Lomba.

Ronaldo received a great thread the needle pass from mate Bruno Cesar.

Mengao defender Welington crappy defensive play caused this easy walk in goal by Ronaldo.

Actually three other Flamengo defenders decided play statue ball too.

Aos 30, Ronaldo deu mais um presente de grego para o ‘parceiro’ Vanderlei. O atacante estava sendo vaiado pela torcida do Flamengo desde que pisou no gramado do Engenhão. A cada toque do Fenômeno na bola, os rubro-negros chiavam. Não esquecem o acerto dele com o Corinthians, em 2009, depois de ter passado três meses em recuperação na Gávea declarando-se rubro-negro de coração. Mas o atacante não ligou a mínima. Aproveitando bobeira de Welington, o único que dava condição de jogo ao Fenômeno, o atacante recebeu de  Bruno César e, livre, não perdoou: 1 a 0. Foi o terceiro gol do atacante no Brasileirão, o primeiro com bola rolando (os outros foram de pênalti). Na comemoração, punhos cerrados e braços para alto na direção dos corintianos.

Diogo saved our bacon when he nailed a header in the 47^th minute to salvage a one all tie.

This goal was set up with a great corner kick that bounced from Flamengo head to Diogo’s head into the back of the net.

Following the bouncing header all the way home.

This was a sure loss for Rubro-Negro but the boo-Mengao didn’t quit.

This tie kept us in the 13^th place with 39 points.

Ronaldo had a chance to salt this puppy away in the 40^th minute but he tripped on the grass and was made to look really silly. The Flamenguistas shouted at him he was too busy searching the crowd transvestites.

This insanity was at its heights for Flamengo in the 26^th minute.

Globo Esporte put tis way-Aos 26 minutos, Maldonado errou a saída de bola. O Vasco a roubou. Nunes, escolhido para começar no lugar de Fellipe Bastos, com virose, tocou para Zé Roberto, esse sim, recuado como meia para ajudar Felipe na armação. O camisa 10 arrancou pela direita e centrou para a área. Welinton, que vinha na corrida, chegou tentando cortar a bola e a mandou em cima de Juan. A equipe vascaína, superior no primeiro tempo, fez 1 a 0, com Cesinha, mas não soube manter a vantagem na segunda etapa, principalmente após a expulsão do zagueiro Dedé, aos 19 minutos, punido pela dura dividida com Willians. Renato empatou de cabeça para os rubro-negros, e os dois times seguem no Brasileirão sem mudar a situação atual na tabela.

Em 12º lugar, com 42 pontos, o Vasco continua longe da briga por uma vaga no G-4. O Flamengo, em 13º, com 38, não consegue se afastar com boa margem de pontos dos clubes que ainda lutam contra o rebaixamento. Agora, o jeito é investir na 32ª rodada. Um gol de Petkovic aos 41 minutos do segundo tempo evitou a derrota rubro-negra para o Grêmio na noite desta quarta-feira, no Olímpico. O Tricolor vencia o jogo e parecia confirmar, ao mesmo tempo, sua ascensão e os temores do adversário no Campeonato Brasileiro. Mas Pet salvou. O empate por 2 a 2 é um porção pequena para as duas equipes: melhor do que nada, bem pior do que elas queriam.

This was one of those back and forth affairs.

Douglas opened the scoring for Gremio. He beat the entire Mengao “D” to the box. Douglas junked right and went left. He flat out beat the keeper Marcelo Lomba in the 9^th minute.

Flamengo scored the equalizer in the 33^rd minute. Leo Moura did a Dipsy do past the helpless Gremio defender. Moura fired a great pass into the box. Kleberson nailed the one timer past the keeper to level this baby at one all.

Jonas bounced a tickler of a shot off the left post in the 50^th minute to give Gremio lead.

The entire Mengao “D’ was in shocked stunned silence.

Enter Petkovic in the 86^th minute to nail the equalizer and save our hides once again.

Mengao is now in 14^th place with 28 points.

This marks the second match in a row that we have scored more than one goal.

The offense is coming around but the “D” sucks big time.

Mengao has now scored five goals in two matches. This more than triples all the goals Rubro-Negro scored in the previous six matches.

More matches will played on Thursday so lets see how the dust settles before we Flamenguistas get too giddy.

Vitoria is taking on Avail and Fluminense has a hot date with Atletico-MG.

Vitoria has 28 points entering into Thursday’s contest. Avai has 25.

Mengao finally won. Oh, my God what is going on here? Flamengo won on the road beating Gremio-Prudente 2-1.

Two goals in one match wow we are on a scoring tearing. Amazing, our team goal total is now at 18 goals in 22 matches.

We have given up 20 goals.

This was Flamengo’s first win since August 14.

Gremio-Prudente scored first.

Adriano Pimenta ripped the twines in the 40^th minute.

Instead of quitting Mengao came back and scored, two second half goals.

Diego Mauricio beat three Prudente defenders. He nailed a great shot to the short left post in the 80^th minute.

Then a miracle happened.

Toro nailed a long range-bouncing bomb from the top of the box.

The bounder beat keeper Giovanni in the 94^th minute.

This is about time our guys score two late second half goals.

I love it.

This was Mauricio’s first goal since July 21^st against Avai.

This huge win moves Flamengo up the table to 14^th place.

Sobrando física e taticamente, o time mineiro perdeu um caminhão de gols e acabou vencendo “apenas” por 1 a 0, no Parque do Sabiá, em Uberlândia. O gol de Robert leva a Raposa à quinta posição, com 28 pontos, mesmo número do Inter, quarto colocado. O time colorado, no entanto, tem uma vitória a mais: 8 a 7.

Mengao is in a very difficult situation. We haven’t won since doomsday actually Flamengo hasn’t won in four matches.

To top that Rubro-Negro has the worst attack in the Campeonato scoring a whopping 14 goals.

Way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory guys.

Guarani-SP scored two lightening quick goals in the 91^st and 93^rd minutes to hand Mengao a 2-1 loss in Sao Paulo.

To add insult to injury Reinaldo unleashed a rocket from just inside the box in 93^rd minute to win this baby for Guarani.

Shoddy defense cost us the win.

Reinaldo had an easy walk in the park thru the Mengao “D” to score the winner.

The entire Flamengo team needs to be shot at dusk for crappy player.
