My guys played very well on the defensive end. My Arsenal guys used a makeshift back four. We don’t have a true fullback and this is killing us.
Sir Alex said this about the win ”We created an amazing amount of chances and to only score two is a bit disappointing.
”We should have rammed home our advantage in the first half, and in the first 15 minutes of the second half they had three great chances and missed them all, so we rode our luck.
”When they put Mertesacker up and kept tossing the ball into the box, you never know what’s going to happen but we coped well with that, Smalling was fantastic in that period and we managed to see it out.”

Now we have a hot date with Man U. This is one of those must win matches. We can’t afford another 7-1-blowout city. The guys have to forget about it and march on to the win.
Both my Gunners and the mighty boys from Old Trafford have a ton to play for.
Man U is in the race for the title so this means they will throw everything including the kitchen sink at us. Make no mistake about this will be a war.

Queens Park Rangers has 17 points. So does Blackburn however the Rovers beat Fulham 3-1 and they maybe on the verge of turning things around. But let’s remember five points separate 17th place through 15th place.

Danny Welbeck and Michael Carrick added goals for Sir Alex and the boys.
Sir Alex said this about the refs– “We should have been playing against 10 men.’
“But these inconsistencies are confusing to everyone.
“Referees have to be given direction about what are the laws of the game and what should be permitted in terms of tackles.
“(Referees’ chief) Mike Riley has to be given the rope to say this is not allowed, two-footed tackles are not acceptable, whether you take the ball or not.
“If he does that it would clarify the situation for all players, the referees and the fans.”
Danny Welbeck was injured in the match. Sir Alex said it was a twisted knee but he’ll be ready for my guys from Arsenal.

Harry “Me Boy” Redknapp said about the tie. – “You know they are going to be difficult. When you turn up here on a Saturday afternoon you know you are in for a tough game. Teams are going to drop points against these teams, they are all working hard and fighting for survival. If you look at the results over the holiday period it shows how difficult it is. We all get disappointed when we don’t win. But they are not just going to roll over. A point’s a point. We’re still on a great run. One wouldn’t quite drop for us and they defended for their lives, worked hard and pressed us, closed us down and made it difficult.”
Spurs dominated the match but couldn’t push across the winner.

Since the mighty boys from Old Trafford stunk the joint out in their 3-0 loss to Newcastle they are attempting to right their ship. This loss to Toons was bad. Sure, the City blow out was bad but losing to Toons give me a break will ya.
City is loaded and they are ready for bear. Toons on the other hand are just back in the EPL for two years since their demotion three years ago.
Since the fiasco at Newcastle Man U has beaten Man City in the FA Cup. Make no mistake about it this was a huge win for Sir Alex and the boys.
Rooney was pissed he was left off the squad that lost to Blackburn on New Years Eve.
All of this drama has an effect on players and their morale and how they perform on the pitch.
We Arsenal fans know this all too well. We have had our share of crap since the season started in August. We started out like crap now the guys are playing well. Sure Arsenal has stubbed their toes but so have City and Man U along the way and this has allowed the guys to stay in touch with the leader board.
Our guys have had their chances to cut the gap but my Gunners lost to Fulham on January 2nd 2-1. In our last four matches we have two wins, one loss, and one tie.
We have to win our match against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
City is top dog with 48 points.
Man U is second on goal difference with 45.
Spurs are third with 45.
Chelsea is fourth with 37 and we are fifth with 36.
City is reeling.
One can argue that these two losses were in the FA Cup and Carling Cup but the facts are that the Citizens lost to Man U and Liverpool. City played two top-flight clubs. The Citizens used most of their regular players in these two matches.
One thing you can make book on City will hit a losing streak. It happens to everyone.
My guys from Arsenal hit a rough stretch in their unbeaten season but the guys rose up and managed to get either a tie or a win instead of the dreaded “L”.
Going unbeaten is very hard.
The definition of impossible is extremely difficult.
Look my guys from Arsenal the door is open all we have to do is win baby.
