Brasil can thank their lucky stars that Paraguay didn’t score that magical third goal in the 78th minute. Instead the Paraguayans non-chalanted it and this resulted in Fred’s life saving goal in the 90th minute that gave Brasil a two all tie with Paraguay.

Brasil drew first blood in the 39th minute.

Jadson dialed up a bomb from just outside the box to give us a 1-0 lead.

I thought good. This is what we needed a goal. Now we’re on the way to the win.

Not on This day.

Paraguay kept the pressure up and scored on a defensive lapse by the Brasileiros side in the 55th minute.

This goal was typical tick, tack, doe futebol.

Nothing but the back of the net for Roque Santa Cruz.

Los Guaranies added another goal in the 67th minute.

Nelson Haedo Valdez had an easy walk in goal to give Paraguay the 2-1 lead.

I thought here we go again.

Enter Fred on the pitch for Brasil and the rest is history.

UOL put his way- Foi por pouco.

Brasil and Paraguay both have two points. Ecuador and Venezuela play later on Saturday. If either side wins they will jump to the head of the class in Group B with four points.

Let’s hope for a nil-nil tie.

Look folks Brasil is playing like crap.

Mano Menezes was supposed to return Brasil to their glory days however this guy hasn’t won one major title as a coach.

The club is totally one sided in their attack.

Menezes has Neymar and company attack the right side only.

This allows other clubs to stack the right side of the pitch and thus force the Brasileiros attack to fight through an entire the eleven-man opposition.

The teams “D” is suspect.

These two goals were soft goals.

Paraguay flat out beat the “D”.

Keeper Julio Cesar was hung out to dry both times.

Brasil is very predicable in their attack.

Menezes is coaching against a players natural instincts to attack.

A left side attack would be nice.

Dunga did this with Kaka, Elano, Robinho, and Dani Alves.

The team is missing a quarterback.

This is a guy who distributes to the attacking players so they can score.

Brasileiros doesn’t have a QB who can give Neymar, Fred, and Jadson the ball with the best chance to score.

Hey Menezes how come Robinho road the pines.

You suck as a coach.

I wonder if Dunga is saying, “Do you miss me yet.”

One final parting shot. Dunga didn’t select or play Neymar, Jadson and the rest on the national team because they weren’t ready to perform on the world stage.

They are still not ready to perform on the World Stage.

This stupidity will cost Brasil another World Cup title.

What hurt Brasil in 2010 was Elano getting his knee busted up against Mexico and Kaka getting kicked out for two yellow cards.

This killed Brasileiros chances big time against the Netherlands.

I rest my case.

Brasileiros futebol Association are a bunch of fools.

You deserve what you get.

A clown like Menezes.

Ronaldinho Gaucho scored his first goal for Mengao on PK in the 25th minute. Deivid added a close range header in the 49th minute.

Then stupidity took over and Flamengo gave up two goals and needed a late goal by Negueba in the 85th minute save our hides once again.

This is not a good sign.

If this is sign of things to come Flamenguista nation is big time trouble.

The final was a hard fought 3-2 win over lower division side Boavista.

Rubro-Negro is a perfect 6-0 in the Carioca.

But lets remember this is against lower division sides.

I am happy about the “W’s.

Mengao has only one quality win- Vasco.

Gigante de Colina is not that good this year even though they are in the Campeonato.

I still want to see how well the guys play against the likes of either Fluminense or Botafogo.

Mate Julio Cesar is very happy for Ronaldinho Gaucho in his return to Brasileiro futebol and his selection to play for the national team.

I sure hope this is good Brasileiro National futebol side.

It is good for Flamengo so far but the national team.

NOT!

Time will tell.

De Futebol

This is a very sad household today.

Brasil lost to the Netherlands 2-1.

Both my wife and I are very sad after Brasil fell apart in the second half. This is the first time Brasil failed to win after leading at half time in a World Cup match.

Robinho nailed the winner in the 10th minute to give us a 1-0 lead.

A great pass set this up from Felipe Melo.

Then all hell broke loose.

Brasil fell apart.

Felipe Melo and keeper Julio Cesar had a little mix up. Melo stepped in front of Cesar. The ball bounces off of Melo’s head into the back of the net. It’s tied one all in the 53rd minute.

This was the match changer.

The Dutch turned up the heat..

Wesley Sneijder nailed a great header in the 68th minute to send all of Brasil on suicide watch.

Melo freaked and decided to stomp on Netherlands Arlen Robben’s ankle.

This was dumb. It was beyond dumb. It was stupid.

He gets 86th in the 73rd minute.

Dutch coach was down right pissed by the Melo’s dirty play. Brasil should ashamed of the way they acted.

O volante brasileiro achou o cartão vermelho injusto.

Kiss the ball game bye-bye.

Cooler heads should have prevailed but this is the South American way. Fall behind. Lose your cool.

Voce vai.

The entire nation wants to fix the blame on Dunga.

Yes, he is the coach but this team played better than the 2006 fat out of shape stars.

You can say what you want but it is easy to win as a front-runner but the real test is when a team falls behind and has to crawl back and win.

This takes heart.

Maybe Brasil doesn’t have the heart to do this.

This loss shocked the entire Brasileiro nation.

Julio Cesar spoke about the loss. He was very sad.

Netherlands showed heart by hanging in there until Brasil made a mistake. The Dutch came back and won. This takes a ton of heart.

UOL wrote that Brasil failed in its first real test in the World Cup. Brasileiros looked good against inferior teams but when they came up against a top team they failed.

Uruguay showed lots of heart by falling behind 1-0 to Ghana.

There was no quit in this dog.

Forlan nailed a perfect free kick from 25 yards out in the 55th minute to tie this sucker up at one all.

Then Luis Suarez swept away a shot on goal in the 120th minute.

Suarez was given the heave-hoe.

Gyan did a choke city. Gyan hit the cross bar. Ker plunk baby. Choke collar time.

Uruguay went on to win in a PK shoot out 4-2.

Next up for Uruguay is the Netherlands in the semi-finals.

De Futebol

This is the day we have been waiting for.

The World Cup begins today.

South Africa battles Mexico while Uruguay takes France.

Happy days are here again.

Brasil is one of the prohibitive favorites to win the whole shooting match.

Led by Kaka, Robinho, Maicon, Juan, Dani Alves, and the superman in goal Julio Cesar Brasileiros are a team to be reckoned with.

These cats are hungry to prove they can win without the super stars of the past-Ronaldo, Ronaldinho Gaucho and the rest of the fat fading stars.

Kaka and the guys have a chip on their shoulders.

Brasileiros are in a very hard group.

Check this group out.

Group D has Brasil, Portugal, Ivory Coast, and North Korea.

This is truly the Group of death.

Brasil will win hands down.

Dunga has put together a team that has size and speed.

Besides that, these cats can flat out rip the twines.

Don’t forget Dunga has taught them to play tough nosed “D”.

Globo Esporte wrote that Kaka and Robinho have led this squad to 28 wins and four draws.

These two guys make a deadly duo.

God forbid if Brasil fails to win this baby.

Dunga will be shot at dusk.

Ireland hung tough with the boys from Brasil for most of the first half. An own goal Ireland’s Keith Andrews in the 44th minute sealed their doom.

Robinho added a classic goal in the 76th minute to seal Brasil’s 2-0 win over the game Irish squad.

Robbie Keane was the Irish captain.

Ireland came out smoking.

Keane made a mad dash down the right sideline. He weaved his way into the center of the pitch. Keane let fly with a zinger. Brasilian keeper Julio Cesar ate up the shot near the right post.

The Irish launched another attack but Paul McShane’s header just missed connecting with the back of the net.

The Brasilians began to apply the pressure.

The guys began to take control of the match after this. Adriano and company began to display the attacking style of futebol that made us famous.

Robinho fed Adriano with a perfect ball but the Emperor was stopped dead in his tracks. The ball came straight to Robinho. Robinho fired the one timer. The shot goes ker plunk off the back of Irish defender Kilbane and into the hands of keeper Shay Given.

Adriano had a great shot off a free kick but Irish keeper Shay Given brushed aside the shot.

The break came in the 44th minute. Kaka made a great dribble drive into the box. He passed to his mate Robinho. Robinho fired. Bingo. The ball met Ireland’s Keith Andrews. It’s an own goal.

This was the match breaker.

Globe Esporte http://www.bolaradio.com.br/ wrote the Brasilians didn’t play that well. Brasil played just well enough to win.

We stunk the joint own.

We have to perform better than this.

Maybe we should scrap the Adriano-Robinho dual attackers.

UOL said that we relied too much on Kaka and counter attacks Em sua maior virtude ofensiva, os contra-ataques, o time de Dunga mostra dependência das arrancadas de Kaká e do acionamento de Maicon.

Before we go ape shit over this half assed performance by Brasil let’s remember this was a tune match. This match was designed to give Dunga a chance to look at different combinations and to see how they worked or didn’t.

This is what a friendly is for.

Dung will now have a clearer picture what combinations work.

The final tune is done.

Lets see how the squad will shake out.

Dunga will make his final decision on the 23 man World Cup roster in May.

I bet dollars to holes in a donut Dung has already decided who will play for him.

Chelsea and Inter battled it out in the first round of the knockout stage of the Champions League. Ex-Blues boss Jose Mourinho is the Inter headman. Ex AC Milan headman Carlo Ancelotti is Chelsea’s main man.

Let’s talk about this barnburner of a match. Inter drew first blood in the 3rd minute. Alberto Diego Milito did a little side step action to the left. This slick move set up this strike that beat keeper Petr Cech to the short post left.

John Terry played horrible “D” on the play.

Chelsea discovered the answer in the 51st minute. Salomon Kalou was just outside the top of the box. He fired a weak shot that bounced past keepers Julio Cesar’s outstretched left paw. This should have been an easy stop. But no, Cesar flat out blew it.

The match is knotted at one all.

Inter began to apply the pressure on the Blues “D”.

Esteban Cambiasso fired a wicked shot but Didier Drogba blocked it. Rebound. Shot. Score Cambiasso in the 55th minute.

Inter is up 2-1.

Oh yes, we have a fight on our hands in Internazionale’s house.

Neither side is playing it safe. Chelsea and Inter are playing fast break, racehorse style futebol. I love it.

We have non-stop end-to-end action.

Both sides have had some great scoring opportunities but neither the Blues nor Inter have yet to pull the trigger.

It is all done. Inter defeated Chelsea 2-1.

The Blues picked up the all-important away goal.

Advantage Inter as we head back to Stamford Bridge for the second part of the story. The return match should be another nail bitter.

Lots of Copa Libertadores action on Wednesday.

Flamengo has a hot date with Universidad Catolica at Maracana. The Chilean side is currently in 11th place in the Chilean Apertura. Catolica has seven points. They are 2-1-3.

Mengao needs to flat out take it to Catolica.

Adriano and Love need to rip the twines.

Bruno will be out with a pulled adductor muscle in his right thigh. Youngster Marcelo Lomba will in goal. I sure hope this doesn’t kill us. This is the grand daddy of em all in South America-The Copa Libertadores.

Rubro-Negro opens the Copa at home then we are on the road for the next two matches.

Mengao travels to Chile to battle Universidad de Chile and Caracas, Venezuela.

Mengao has not tasted victory in first round play of Copa since 1984.

Flamengo needs to stop this schnid now.

Mengao has six draws and two losses in their previous eight Copa openers.

Not good garoto.

Flamenguistas needs a win.

In fifth round FA Cup replay action, Tottenham took it to Bolton 4-0. Super Russian Roman Pavlyuchenko hit for the daily double in the 23rd and 87th minute. The Wanderers hit the daily double own goal in the 35th and 47th minute.

Please say it ain’t so Joe.

It is.

Spurs are on to the next round of the FA cup.

Aston Villa beat Crystal Palace 3-1 to advance to the next round of the FA Cup.

Reading defeated West Brom 3-2.

Reading’s Brian Howard tied this baby up at two all in 90th minute to send this guy into thirty minutes of extra time.

Gylfi Sigurdsson hit the match winner in the 95th minute to send West Brom packing.

Stoke City needed the full 120 minutes to stifle City 3-1. This loss sure puts a damper Man City’s season.

Ryan Shawcross scored in the 95th minute.

Tuncay Sanli fired home the winner in the 99th minute to put this sucker out of reach.

City is sent packing as well.

Oh what a crazy day in the futebol world.
