It’s all over but the shouting. Fluminense took care of business in Rio de Janeiro. Flu defeated Guarani 1-0. Emerson nailed a perfect strike for Fluminense in the 61^st minute to seal the deal.

This was Fluminense’s first title since 1984.

Way to go garoto.

It took Po-de-arroz 26 years to get their second trophy.

All of Rio de Janeiro is happy.

Except for us Flamenguistas, we had a crappy season. Flamengo finished close to the drop-dead zone.

Mengao finished in 14^th place with 44 points.

This season was a total blowout after Rubro-Negro surprised everyone winning the 20089 Campeonato.

Fluminense was top dog since the 24^th week of the season. Po-de-arroz finished with 71 points. Cruzeiro was second with 69. I had a real bad weekend. All of my teams lost except one. Arsenal stunk the joint against Newcastle.Flamengo lost to Atletico-PR 1-0. The only saving grace this weekend was the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles beat the Colts 26-24. With the win, my Eags improved to 5-3.

My wife can tell you I was not a happy camper.

Mengao is on the verge of getting the heave –hoe.

We stunk the joint out.

This loss stops a three tie match slide.

Flamengo is stuck on stupid.

Rubro-Negro is in 13^th place with 40 points.

The turning point in the match happened in the 39^th minute.

Paulo Baier took it to the rack. The contact was minimal. Baier falls to the ground like he was shot.

Way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory guys.

Flamengo was in control of the match until injury time.

Guarani-SP scored two lightening quick goals in the 91^st and 93^rd minutes to hand Mengao a 2-1 loss in Sao Paulo.

To add insult to injury Reinaldo unleashed a rocket from just inside the box in 93^rd minute to win this baby for Guarani.

Botafogo took care of business in their house at Estadio Olimpico.

Fogao shut out Atletico-MG 3-0.

Botafogo started out like a house on fire.

Fogao never let up.

Maicosuel knocked home the rebound off the miss in the 31^st minute for a 1-0 Botafogo.

Somalia nailed a shot into the box. Bing bam boom the ball ricochets off of one of  his mates into the back of the net in the 40^th minute.

German Herrera knocked home the PK in the 69^th minute for a 3-nil lead.

Game, set, and match to Botafogo.

Botafogo was in ninth place with 15 points before Saturday’s match now Fogao will surely move up the table.

Botafogo has 18 big ones.

Guarani-SP flat out took it to fourth place Avai 4-1.

Leao da Ilha was in fifth place however, with Saturday’s loss Avai dropped to sixth place.

Guarani-Sp moved up three spots to ninth place.

This is all contingent on what happens on Sunday.

Mengao has a huge match against Corinthians at Timao’s house today.

Pacaembu is a tough place to play.

Flamengo has to play sharp.

We need to score and play smart “D” or Mengao will go home with their tails between their legs.

An “L” is not what we need.

We need “W’s”.

This is as plain and simple as that.

A loss Mengao cannot afford.

Mengao has a huge match with Internacional on Sunday in Porto Alegre. Both Flamengo and Colorado both have 16 points but Internacional is in fourth place by having five wins compared with Rubro-Negro’s four wins.

I am not saying this is a must win situation however Flamengo must play a lot better if they want to compete for the title.

Fluminense is top dog with 22 points.

Corinthians is in second place with 21.

Botafogo takes on Fluminense at Estadio Olimpico in Rio de Janeiro.

This is a huge derby for both sides.

Fogao is one step above the drop zone in 16^th place.

Corinthians takes on Guarani-SP.

Burge is mid table 10^th place.

Six points separate the top six clubs.

Maximum points are a premium for Flamengo, Internacional, Timao, and Flu.

Bottom feeders Gremio and Atletico-PR need to get the W.

Gremio battles Cruzeiro while Furacao takes Goias.

The seventh round of the campeonato is in the books. Corinthians and Ceara each have 18 big ones. Corinthians is the top dog due to a better goal difference. Timao is a plus seven while Vovo is a plus six.

Flu is in third place with 15 points after a one all tie with Gremio Barueri.

Santos, Guarani-SP, Flamengo, Cruzeiro, and Palmeiras each have 12 points.

Santos is fourth spot with a plus four-goal difference.

Cruzeiro and Flamengo are for fifth with a plus two.

Palmeiras has a plus two as well but both Cruzeiro and Flamengo have scored 10 goals compared with Verdao’s eight goals.

Sao Paulo sits in ninth spot with 11 points.

The biggest disappointment is Vasco.

Gigante de Colina fought like hell in 2009 to get back to the Campeonato but now they are stinking the joint out.

Vasco is 19^th place with six points.

The surprise side is Fluminense.

Last year Po-de- arroz hovered near the bottom of the table.

Flu was almost given the heave-hoe.

Now Po-de-arroz is in third place.

Kudos to Fluminense on a great start to the campaign.

Rubro-Negro needs help.

Hopefully the offer made to Milan to only pay them the  salary and not pay Milan the opt out clause.

The supposed buyout is worth ten million.

Milan officials thought this was a joke.

Na quinta-feira, Galliani ironizou o interesse flamenguista em contar com o jogador. “Flamengo? Nunca deu sinal de vida. Não levo em consideração hipóteses absurdas. Ronaldinho é do Milan e jogará a próxima temporada no Milan”, disse.

Corinthians moved back into first place with 16 points.

Ceara is in second position with 14 points.

Fla the wonder dog is third spot with 12 points.

Fluminense is the surprise team of the Campeonato so far.

No one expected Po-de-arroz to be in contention for the top spot.

Last year Fla was almost eight six outta of the Campeonato.

Mengao is in fourth place with nine points due to a better goal difference.

Santos, Cruzeiro, and Guarani-SP each have nine big ones as well.

Sao Paulo is in eleventh place with eight points.

Verdao is in 12^th place with eight points as well.

There is a logjam beginning with fourth place all the way thru 13^th place. nine teams are separated by one point.

There is one more match in the Campeonato before World Cup break begins on June 7^th.

It is still early in the season but Mengao needs to clean house against Goias on Saturday at home in Maracanã.

The match against Goias will be the Love man’s final one for Rubro-Negro before he heads back to Russia.

Vagner Love needs to rip the twines.

He has scored four goals in six matches for Flamengo.

We are surely going to miss him ripping the twines.

Petkovic and the guys are going to need to step up big time.

Lets hope so. If not the Flamenguista nation will be upset.
