Way to go guys England snatched a sure draw from the jaws of victory against Ghana in an international friendly.

Andy Carroll was told by Fabio Capello dude you gotta curb your drinking. Carroll heeded Capello’s warning and scored Three Lions only goal of the match in the 43^rd minute.

Asamoah Gyan ruined Carroll’s night by scoring the tying goal in the 90^th minute.

Gyan made the entire English “D” look like a bunch of schoolgirls trying to catch Bob Hayes.

This cat faked the Three Lions defenders out of their collective jocks.

I bet my friend Tophatal had a fit when he saw his mates do the choke city in the final moments.

Tophatal is right.

Capello needs to go.

The English “D” especially late in the match looked a step slow.

England also lacks a killer instinct.

The guys didn’t attack when they had the chance. They didn’t finish when Three Lions had the chance.

You saw the result of this folly.

Let’s remember this England didn’t play their top players due having played on Saturday in European qualifying match against Wales.

The truth be told England didn’t look all that impressive against an inferior Welch side.

Chile defeated Colombia 2-0.

Uruguay jumped out to an early 3-1 lead and hung on for a 3-2 win over Ireland.

Uruguay was a semifinalist in the 2010 World Cup.

Ireland played the JV team while Uruguay was stunned by Estonia 1-0 last Friday in the snow.

This is a very sad household today.

Brasil lost to the Netherlands 2-1.

Both my wife and I are very sad after Brasil fell apart in the second half. This is the first time Brasil failed to win after leading at half time in a World Cup match.

Robinho nailed the winner in the 10^th minute to give us a 1-0 lead.

A great pass set this up from Felipe Melo.

Then all hell broke loose.

Brasil fell apart.

Felipe Melo and keeper Julio Cesar had a little mix up. Melo stepped in front of Cesar. The ball bounces off of Melo’s head into the back of the net. It’s tied one all in the 53^rd minute.

This was the match changer.

The Dutch turned up the heat..

Wesley Sneijder nailed a great header in the 68^th minute to send all of Brasil on suicide watch.

Melo freaked and decided to stomp on Netherlands Arlen Robben’s ankle.

This was dumb. It was beyond dumb. It was stupid.

He gets 86^th in the 73^rd minute.

Dutch coach was down right pissed by the Melo’s dirty play. Brasil should ashamed of the way they acted. What am I going to do with myself?

There is no World Cup futebol to watch on the tube. But cheer up folks Friday is just around the corner. Brasil battles the Netherlands and Uruguay has a hot date with Ghana.

The big question is this. Are you surprised by the results so far?

Yes and no.

I have been stating that Brasil and Argentina are the best teams in the world. Spain and the Netherlands are a close second.

What surprised me was the crappy play of England, France, and defending chump I mean champ Italy.

I loved it seeing the cheating French getting their asses handed to them.

I love it when Italy didn’t make out of the group stage too.

Paraguay took it to them.

How about the strong showing of the South American teams?

No.

I have been a student of South American futebol for fifteen years.

Everyone knows that Brasil and Argentina are the class of South American futebol.

Paraguay, Chile, and Uruguay have been making great strides over the years.

Paraguay and Ecuador played in the 2006 World Cup along with Argentina and Brasil.

Only Brasil and Argentina made it to the knockout stage of the 2006 World Cup.

Both Brasil and Argentina were knocked out in the quarterfinals.

South American club teams have been serving as feeder systems for the top-flight leagues in Europe since 2005.

Manchester United’s Sir Alex and Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger have been combing Brasil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay for the past seven years searching for the best younger futebolers.

Another key is the strength and quality of play in the Copa Libertadores.

The winner of the Copa has given the Champions League titleholder fits in the FIFA World Cup Club futebol championship held every December.

Barcelona needed a late second half goal to send the match with Argentinean side Estudiantes into extra time.

Barcelona needed 120 minutes to beat Estudiantes 2-1 to win the 2009 FIFA World Cup Title championship game.

South American futebol is for real folks.

The more things change the more things stay the same. This is deja vu all over again. Ghana defeated the USA 2-1 in extra time.

It took 120 minutes to settle this puppy.

Ghana knocked out the USA of the 2006 World Cup held in Germany.

Yes, we won Group C but the USA came up short when it counted.

Two defensive lapses killed the USA.

Kevin Prince Boateng split the seam in the “D”. He flat out beat a defenseless Tim Howard short post left in the 5^th minute.

The USA didn’t quit. We crawled back into the match.

Clint Dempsey took it to the rack. This forced the Ghana defender to foul him.

Up steps the D Man.

Landon Donovan nailed the PK off the right post in the 62^nd minute.

Injury time and it was Déjà vu all over again.

Asamoah Gyan beat two American defenders to the ball.

He flipped the shot over Tim Howard’s out stretched hands in the 93^rd minute.

The USA is now 0-1-14 in matches when they trailed at half.

These goals were not Tim Howard’s fault.

We played crappy “D” on these two plays that were the turning points of the match.

The USA showed promise but we still have a long way to go in futebol.

I am sad but hey this all part of the game.

Go Brasil.

Uruguay defeated South Korea 2-1.

Luis Suarez hit for the daily double.

Uruguay’s super striker Diego Forlan set up Suarez’s first goal with a great centering pass across the goal crease.

The second goal Suarez dribble to his right. He nailed a curling knuckler that went ker plunk off the right post into the twines.

Uruguay and Ghana will meet in the quarterfinals of the World Cup.

South America’s strong showing in the World Cup surprises the clowns at ESPN however, I am not.

I have been writing about South American futebol for two years.

The pundits used by ESPN are ex-European futebol players. All these guys know is the EPL, Spain, Italy, France, and Germany. They know nothing about South American clubs.

When one thinks about South American futebol only Brasil and Argentina, come to mind. Yet, team like Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay are flying under the radar.

If you want to get a feel for South American futebol watch the Copa Libertadores. I have been follwing the Copa since 1993.

The teams that win the Copa always give the Champions League titleholder fits. Just ask Manchester United, Barcelona, Liverpool, and Inter Milan.

South American futebol is for real folks.

Brasil has a ring for the thumb.

We are going for a ring for the other hand.

Italy has four titles.

Uruguay has won two World Cup titles.

Argentina has two titles too.

Many of the top futebolers are from South America.

Up next Argentina-Mexico and England-Germany.

The USA won Group C with a thrilling 1-nil win over Alegria.

Landon Donovan is finally proving he belongs on the world futebol stage.
The Landon Man nailed the match winner in the 91^st minute.

The superman in goal Tim Howard set up this goal. Howard blocked a point blank shot. He gobbled up the loose ball. A quick outlet pass by Howard and we were off to the races.

Alegria never knew what hit them.

The USA was off to the races.

Buda bing buda boom the ball is in the back of the Algerian net in a matter moments.

Fast break futebol at its best.

You gotta love it.

Game, set, and match to the USA.

My wife and I stood and cheered at the top of our lungs.

Our neighbors thought we are nuts.

I have the papers to prove I am nuts.

We win the Group and now on to the knockout stage.

The idiot pundits in the USA media have proclaimed Landon Donovan the greatest player in United States history.

NOT!

One brilliant World Cup doesn’t make up for all the times Donovan stunk the joint out.

Read my lips Tim Howard is the only world-class player have.

Time in and time out Howard has saved the USA hide.

Without Howard, we would have lost to England, Alegria, and Slovenia.

Trust me on this.

England finally tickled the twines in a huge 1-0 over Slovenia.

Jermain Defoe saved the English skin when he nailed the match winner in the 23^rd minute.

The Aussies defeated Serbia 2-1.

Germany escaped with Ghana 1-0.

After a scoring barrage against a short-handed Australian squad, the Germans have petered out in goal production.

Germany is over rated.

Germany wins Group D.

Ghana and the Aussies tied for second with four points but Ghana had a better goal difference. Ghana was a zero while Australia was a minis three.

In my heart, I would love to see a miracle in South Africa. The USA wins the World Cup. Dreams are great to have.

If not I want Brasil to win.

Another World Cup day chalk full with surprises. Australia and Ghana tied at one all.

The Aussies were blown out by Germany in their first match but the boys from down under sucked it up and fought back to get the draw.

Brett Holman got the Aussies on the board first in the 11^th minute.

Mate Mark Bresciano nailed a wicked free kick from long range.

Bingo. Off the keeper’s chest into the waiting feet of Brett Holman to give Australia a 1-0 lead.

Harvey Kewell was given the heave-hoe after he touched the ball with his arm in the 24^th minute.

Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan nailed the PK in the 25^th minute.

This baby ended up in a one all tie.

The Dutch took it to Japan in a 1-0 win.

The Netherlands was in complete control of this puppy from the outset.

Wesley Sneijder hit the winner in the 53^rd minute.

He rammed a long-range winner from just outside the box.

The shot powered right through the Japanese keeper Eiji Kawashima.

The Dutch squad had most of the possession time but the Japanese had several very good chances that missed the mark.

Ghana is in the pole position of Group D with four points. Germany is second with three.

Serbia is third with three. The Aussies have one pint.

Australia will be sent packing after the Group stage.

The Dutch are in the top spot in Group E with six points Japan is in second with three points.

Cameroon jumped out to an early 1-0 lead over the Danes however Demark came back with two goals to win 2-1.

The Lions are headed home.

Arsenal dude Nicklas Bendtner nailed the winner in the 33^rd minute off a great give and go.

Dennis Rommedahl’s strike in the 61^st minute ended this sucker and sent the Lion home packing.

Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o scored in the 10^th minute to give them the early 1-0 lead.

The Dutch are on to the next round from Group E. Japan and Demark are tied with three points.

The Danes and Japan will take on each other in a winner takes all match.

Alex Lalas needs to be shot.

This guys sucks. His comments make no sense.

Why does ESPN keep on hiring this clown?

I mean give me a break.

They go out and get the worst possible futebol analyst’s in history.

Day three is underway at the World Cup.

Finally, we have victories instead of ties. Red Cards were the order of the day too.

Ghana was in complete control of the match. Sure, Serbia had their chances but in a matter a moments, the match was spun on its ear. A Red Card and handball spelled doom for Serbia.

Ghana defeated Serbia 1-0.

Asamoah Gyan nailed the PK in the 84^th minute to lift Ghana to a 1-0 win.

The idiot Serbian defender Zdravko Kuzmamovic punched the ball out the goal area.

This was dumb.

He should be shot for such stupidly.

Algeria lost to Slovenia 1-0.

Robert Koren nailed the match winner in the 79^th minute.

Algerian keeper Faouzi Chaouchi blew it. The ball bounced off his hands into the net.

This is Deja vue all over again.

Algerian Abdelkader Ghezzal was given the heave-hoe in the 73^rd minute.

So far, there has been lots of crappy play and many surprises.

The teams that I thought would have a great shot at winning the whole shooting match have played like crap.

England tied one all with the USA while Argentina squeaked by Nigeria 1-0.

Both of these sides should have won hands down.

The USA only has one world-class player Tim Howard.

Word has it that he is injured when he suffered a cleat to the chest.

If we loss him our goose is royally cooked.

Germany killed Australia 4-0.

The Aussies had a chance to score early but nada.

The German’s turned up the heat and scored lightening quick to put this baby away early.

Lukas Podolski ripped the twines in the 8^th minute.

Ozil’s great corner into the box set up this baby. Muller flicked a great pass to Podolski who has an easy shot into the back of net.

Klose’s header in the 26^th minute ended this puppy right here.

2-0 Germany.

The Aussie’s goose is cooked.

Germany added two more goals by Muller (67^th minute) and Cacau (70^th minute).

Day three is over and the German’s played the best futebol of the day.

Day four is coming up

The Netherlands escaped with a 2-0 win over Denmark.

An own goal by Denmark’s Daniel Agger in the 46^th minute spelled doom the Danish side.

Liverpool star Dirk Kuyt put the final nail in the Danish coffin in the 85^th minute.

Japan shut out Cameroon 1-0.

Defending World Cup Champs Italy tied with Paraguay 1-1.

Paraguayan striker Antolin Alcaraz nailed a perfect header into the back of the net in the 39^th minute for a 1-0 lead.

Alcaraz out leaped two Italian defenders for the winner.

This was set up by a great free kick into the depths of the box.

The Italians found the answer in the 63^rd minute.

Daniele D Rossi directed home a well-placed corner kick to the far right post. Rossi flicked the ball into the back of the net to even this sucker up at one all.

This is a huge tie for Paraguay.

Italy had most of the possessions.

On Tuesday Brasil takes on North Korea.

We need to come out smoking and kick some major butt.
