My guys from Arsenal showed what they are made of. We fell behind 2-0 to Villa. Instead of folding up like a cheap tent my Gunners manned up and scored three-second half goals to win 3-2.

Two PK’s by Robin van Persie and a goal from Theo Walcott sent the boys into the next round of the FA Cup.

My Gunners started out fast but couldn’t convert.

Aston Villa struck first in the 33^rd minute. Richard Dunn rose above the fray and nailed a powerful header. Stiliyan Petrov set this sucker up with a well-placed corner kick.

Villa made 2-0 on a goal by Darren Bent in the 45^th minute.

The guys came roaring back.

This win showed the guys have the fortitude to come back from adversity.

The FA Cup weekend is over. Chelsea, Liverpool, Bolton, Stoke City, Norwich City, and Birmingham from the EPL advanced. Newcastle lost to Championship side Brighton 1-0.

League Two Crawley Town pulled the biggie-upset city of the day beating Hull City 1-0.

Stevenage defeated Notts County 1-0. Boro is in League Two while Notts County is League One.

So far in the FA Cup there have been a few surprises but most of the big boys have passed on through except for when EPL clubs battled each other like Liverpool-Man U, West Brom-Norwich City, Bolton- Swansea City, Chelsea- Queens Park Rangers.

Man U and Liverpool were engaged in a war in their fourth round match of the FA Cup. The Reds and the mighty boys from Old Trafford are bitter enemies and that’s an understatement.

Liverpool drew first blood in the Daniel Agger nailed a header off a free kick. David de Gea blew it. He was squeezed off the line and this allowed Agger an open shot at the goal.

Park Ji Sung found the equalizer in the 39^th minute. Sung fired a rocked from just outside the box. The shot beat the keeper Rena far post left.

David de Gea gave up the match winner in the 88^th minute. Dirk Kuyt nailed a perfect shot between the wickets to beat De Gea dead to rights.

Andy Carroll set this puppy up with a pass.  

Once again Man U’s weak back line betrayed them again.

The Reds are on to the next round of the FA Cup.

Once again the flash point came late in the match between these two storied clubs.

Man U poor back line has been exposed again. This has been Sir Alex and the boys Achilles heal.

The Red Devils have been knocked out of the Champions League and the FA Cup due to bad defense and crappy goal keeping.

The Red used most of their top players while Sir Alex started the second team. Only Chicharito played. Rooney and the rest of the big boys sat out so this was a major reason Man U lost.

All and all this was a huge win for Liverpool.

The Reds are out of the title hunt and they are hoping to get a Champions League spot.

However Liverpool has a better shot at the Europa League.

Chelsea defeated Queens Park Rangers 1-0 to advance as well.

The Blues won it on a controversial PK in the 62^nd minute. Juan Mata nailed the PK to send Chelsea through to the Promised Land.

River Plate was sent packing for the first time in their illustrious futebol history. Los Millionaires is the most decorated futebol club in Argentinos history now River Plate is hanging out in the Nacional B.

River Plate is making a long climb out of outer Siberia. Los Millionaires is in second place in Primera Nacional B with 33 points. Instituto is top dog with 35 points.

The top two clubs will get a get outta jail free card. So far River Plate is in second place.

Los Millionaires next match is against Chacarita Juniors on February 4^th.

River Plate had won 33 domestic titles, five international crowns- two Copa Libertadores titles, one International Cup (FIFA World Club title), one Super Copa Sudamericana crown, and one Copa Interamercana title.

The club was founded in 1901. Now River Plate is attempting to get back to where they belong with big boys.

What killed Los Millionaires was their 75 million dollar debt. Former President Jose Maria Aguilar was fired and Daniel Pasarella replaced him.  Shortly thereafter when River Plate was given the heave-hoe manager Juan Jose Lopez resigned.

Matias Almeyda is now River Plate’s manager.

So far so good for Los Millionaires.

The F A Cup is the talk of the town this weekend in England. The headline match is Liverpool-Man U battle. This puppy will be played at the Reds house Anfield.

Liverpool is coming off a huge win over Man City to advance to the finals of the Carling Cup.

This will be the first of two matches. If either one wins the loser is sent packing.

The last time these two clubs met Reds Luis Suarez was given an eight-match ban for racial comments he made to Red Devils Patrice Evra.

Both managers are trying to down play this incident.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish said this – We want to concentrate on going out and playing football and any other sideshow is purely that, it is just a sideshow.”

“Everyone has a responsibility to uphold the names of their respective club and anyone who reports or comments on the game also has the responsibility to make sure they are not trying to incite trouble. But it is not only the fans who have to behave themselves; we have a responsibility to behave – but that is the case every time.”

Sir Alex said this – “It is a massive game for both clubs. There is a tremendous profile on it and will be interest throughout the country. As Steven Gerrard said, there is a responsibility on the players to behave properly. That is what I expect my players to do.”

FA Cup play on Friday saw Everton defeat Fulham 2-1. The Cottagers drew first blood when the Toffees John Heitinga touched the ball in the box. Fulham’s Danny Murphy nailed the PK in the 15^th minute for a 1-0 Cottagers lead.

Everton found the answer in the 27^th minute.

Danny Stracualursi nailed the winner to level this sucker at one all.

The Toffees hit the match winner in the 73^rd minute. Marouane Fellaini noodled home the winner. A great cross into the box by Landon Donovan set up this puppy.

Everton is on to the next round.

Tottenham escaped with a tough 1-0 win over Watford.

Rafael Vander Vaart scored the match winner in the 42^nd minute.

Spurs are on to the next round.

Championship side Watford gave Spurs all they could handle. The Hornets rattled the cages twice but couldn’t push the ball across the finish line.

Flamengo lost to Real Potosi 2-1 at Leon Imperial’s house Bolivia. Leon Imperial is up 2-1 on aggregate. This means the guys are going to have to hold Real Potosi goalless and win 2-0. Mengao has the all important away goal in this home at home series.

Rubro-Negro took the lead when Muralha found the back of the net in the 28^th minute.

Leon Imperial responded  in kind with a goal by Claudio Centurion in the 30^th minute.

Real Potosi nailed the match winner in the 57^th minute.

Edgardo Britez ripped the twines.

UOL- Mesmo com o período de treinos na altitude, o Flamengo mostrou muita dificuldade com o ar rarefeito de 4.100m de Potosí-BOL. No entanto, a equipe da casa tentou se aproveitar disso para pressionar o Rubro-Negro e saiu de campo no jogo de ida da primeira fase da Libertadores com uma vitória de 2 a 1. Luiz Antônio abriu o placar para o time carioca, enquanto Centurión e Brittes garantiram a vitória para os bolivianos.

As chances vinham sempre da mesma maneira: através dos chutes de longa distância. No entanto, muitos destes remates do Real Potosí paravam nas defesas de Felipe. Quando o Flamengo conseguiu ter um breve domínio da posse de bola, o gol saiu. Léo moura fez uma belíssima jogada na direita e rolou de bandeja para Luiz Antônio, que só teve o trabalho de escorar para o fundo da rede.

Man City put up one hell of a fight against Liverpool in the Carling Cup replay but the Reds prevailed 2-2 to advance on aggregate 3-2.

This puppy was a nutcracker. The Citizens took the lead twice 1-0 and 2-1 before Craig Bellamy scored in the 73^rd minute to send Liverpool to the Carling Cup final against Cardiff.

Nigel de Jong’s goal in the in the 31^st  minute gave City the early lead.

The Reds responded in the 41^st minute on a PK by Steven Gerrard.

Edin Dzeko nailed a close range bomb in the 67^th minute. The Citizens are up 2-1.

Craig Bellamy rammed home the equalizer in the 76^th minute that sent Liverpool nation into a frenzy.

Reds captain Steven Gerrard said this about Bellamy’s goal -”It’s a great feeling, it’s been a while,” Gerrard told Sky Sports. “Since playing at Cardiff in 2006, it’s been too long for this club. I’m delighted for everyone, especially the fans.”

“Craig was the difference,” Gerrard added. “His pace was always a threat and we know that if a chance falls to him he can finish. It`s a big thanks to him. We had to be positive and brave. 

“Man City have so much quality and our decision to attack them paid off. Joe is a big character but I don’t feel sorry for him. He’s a top keeper and he will play in many finals. But it’s our turn now and we have to go and lift that trophy.”

Craig Bellamy said about facing his home town side Cardiff – “The omens were looking good going into tonight after I saw Cardiff go through,” the striker said. “I was delighted for them and this couldn’t be a better final for me. Cardiff means so much to me. It’s funny how football can work out at times.”

City’s Roberto Mancini said this We did a good performance, scored two goals. I think it was not a penalty for Liverpool and was for us. This changed the game,” the Italian said. “He (Richards) touched the ball on his leg, for this reason (it was not a penalty).”

“There is a referee on the pitch. It is enough. It was a penalty, incredible, clear. We did well, scored, we did some mistakes and conceded a stupid goal. We can do nothing.”

Vanger Love is a part of Flamengo nation. CSK Moscow accepted his deal. Finally the chief idiot Patricia Amorim is taking steps to insure Mengao is heading in the right direction.

UOL- This is the lead. Se o Flamengo não conseguiu convencer os árabes do Al Hilal para comprar os direitos econômicos de Thiago Neves, o contra-ataque veio de forma rápida e efetiva. Depois de uma reunião na Rússia, nesta terça-feira, os dirigentes do CSKA Moscou, aceitaram a proposta que o Flamengo fez por Vagner Love, de pagar 8 milhões de euros (mais de de 18 milhões de reais), em três parcelas, em um período de até um ano e meio, para liberar o jogador. Ainda restam acertar alguns detalhes para que o contrato seja assinado e o atacante seja anunciado oficialmente.

Não seria a primeira vez que Vagner Love defenderia o clube da Gávea, já que, em 2010, ele foi emprestado pelos russos por seis meses à equipe rubro-negra. Ele fez dupla de ataque com Adriano, parceria que foi chamada de “Império do Amor”. O atacante foi artilheiro do Campeonato Carioca, com 15 gols, e teve de voltar para a Rússia após marcar quatro gols em cinco jogos pelo Brasileirão.  Here is the 411 or skinny. Flamengo must play their way into the main show.

Mengao will go to Bolivia for the first round in a home at home match against Real Potosi. The winner by aggregate will advance to the big show.

The problem is this Flamengo stinks big time when we play in Bolivia.

Mengao and Real Potosi last squared off in 2007. Flamengo won at home 1-0 and then tied with Real Potosi in Bolivia 2-2.

Mengao trailed at half 2-0.

The guys were fortunate to comeback and tie.

UOL- Quando entrar no gramado do estádio Victor Agustín Ugarte, em Potosi, o Flamengo colocará em jogo seu primeiro semestre. Uma eliminação deixaria o clube apenas com o estadual até maio. Headman Luxemburo is getting his chargers ready for a tough match in Bolovia.

Globe Esporte- O Flamengo fez no fim da tarde desta terça-feira seu último treinamento antes da estreia na fase prévia da Taça Libertadores. Pela primeira vez desde que chegou à Bolívia, o técnico Vanderlei Luxemburgo fechou a atividade. Durante 75 minutos o grupo trabalhou sem a presença de imprensa ou torcedores.

There is good news coming out of Flamengo. It looks real good that Vanger Love will sign with Rubro-Negro.

The deal is 90% done.

This is a huge signing for the guys. Love teamed with Ronaldinho Gaucho will give Mengao a great one-two punch.

We lost our third leading scorer when Thiago Neves signed with Fluminense.

Mengao is now playing the Carioca Championship. This competition is done in two stages that will end in May 2012.

Flamengo destroyed Bonsucesso 4-0 in the opening round Campeonato Estadual do Rio.

Rubro-Negro is in Group A. The sides in involved are Botafogo, Madureira, Nova Iguacu, Macaé, Olaria, Resende, Flamengo, and Bonsucesso.

Jael led Mengao with a daily double.

Camacho and Adryan scored também.

Globo Esporte Sem Ronaldinho Gaúcho e companhia, o Flamengo B cumpriu seu papel e venceu o Bonsucesso por 4 a 0 em sua estreia no Campeonato Carioca, na noite deste sábado, no Engenhão. Enquanto integrantes da diretoria viajavam para a Rússia para tentar um desfecho positivo na negociação com Vagner Love, Jael voltou a honrar o apelido de Cruel e marcou duas vezes. Camacho, com bela atuação, anotou o terceiro, e Adryan, que fez sua estreia oficial no time de cima, fechou o placar com um belo gol.

Futebol in Brasil is a twelve-month season. It all begins in January with the State Championships and ends in December with the close of the Serie A.

Chelsea is on the road against Norwich City. The Carnies haven’t beaten the Blues since 1994-95.

Norwich can be a tough out. The Carnies have beaten Newcastle so far this season at Carrow Road. So expect a war between Chelsea and Norwich City.

The Blues need to win this puppy to stay in touch with the leader board.

City has 51 points.

Liverpool takes a trip to Bolton.

The Wanderers are near the butt end of the table.

Newcastle and Fulham will hook up.

Queens Park Rangers have a chance to move out of the bye-bye zone when they take on Wigan.

This is the one Gunner nation has been waiting for all season the return date with the hated Man U. The Red Devils blew the doors off of our guys 8-2 August 28^th 2011. However the return match at our house my Gunners have a habit of winning in a close one.

Will this trend continue? 

We will find out on this Sunday.

This sucker will have a small part in deciding if Man U will win the title. This will help us inch closer to the top of the table when we win.

The Red Devils have 48 points. Our guys have 36. We are level on points with Toons however my Gunners have a plus seven compared with Newcastle’s plus five.

This is a must win for both sides.

Sir Alex and the boys have eleven clean sheets this season.

Robin Van Persie has scored 17 goals and Wayne Rooney has 13 goals in the EPL.

Aaron Ramsey has made the most starts 19 of any outfield player for my Gunners.

The defeat at the hands of Swansea City was Arsene Wenger’s 100^th career loss with Arsenal.

This defeat also marked my Gunners 150 loss in the EPL era.

This match will be the 47^th time Sir Alex and Arsene Wenger have squared off in all competitions. Wenger has won 16. Sir Alex won 21 and there have been nine draws.

The Red Devils have a League best away record. Sir Alex and the boys have won seven of their ten fixtures away from Old Trafford.

Man U is truly a road warrior.

The stoops at Flamengo are at it again. We lost one of our best players to Fluminense. Thiago Neves said bye-bye to Mengao nation. Flu signed Neves for sixteen million bucks. He was one of the main reasons why we finished in fourth place. Without him we would have been lost.

Neves scored 12 goals this past season. He was the third leading scorer on Rubro-Negro.  Deivid led the way with 15 goals. Ronaldinho Gaucho was second with 14.  

UOL wrote this – “Agora, é oficial. O Fluminense Football Club comunica o acerto com o jogador Thiago Neves. Todas as negociações financeiras foram concluídas com sucesso, restando apenas os últimos trâmites burocráticos. O atleta deve ser apresentado até o fim da semana. Globo Esporte said this – O ano que marca o centenário do Fla-Flu começou agitado. E, assim como em 1912, a primeira vitória foi do Fluminense. Mengao has extended an offer to get Vanger Love back to Flamengo. Earlier CSK Moscow turned down an offer of six million dollars. Love wants to returned to Mengao. He played with Mengao 2010 season and help Flamengo win the 2010 Campeonato.
