My boo Mengao almost blew it big time against Volta Redonda. Flamengo gave up a goal in the 14^th minute on a shot by Redonda’s Rafael Granja.

“O jogo começou muito estudado. Mesmo com posse de bola maior, o Flamengo não conseguia chegar ao gol do Volta Redonda, que levava perigo nos contra-ataques. E foi justamente num deles que o time da casa abriu o placar. The morons played bad defense however David got the equalizer in the 35^th minute. Then to make matters worse the idiots committed a stupid studs up tackle in the 40^th minute. The chief moron was Luiz Antonio Moraes.

It sure looked bad for Rubro-negro. However the guys didn’t give up and scored three second half goals to win 4-2. Vanger Love led the attack with the daily double.

Leonardo Moura added a brilliant strike in the 90^th minute to seal the deal for Flamengo.

Mengao didn’t play Ronaldinho Gaucho. The announcers for Globo radio said that Flamengo is a better club without Gaucho. Gaucho’s play não serve para nada.

The win gives Rubro-negro 12 points.

Botafogo is top dog with 13 points. Macaé lost to Americano-RJ 3-1 and Mengao moved into second place on goal difference. Flamengo is a plus five while Macaé is a plus four.

River Plate and Grimnasia La Plata tied nil-nil. The tie moved Los Millionaires into the top spot in Nacional B for now. River Plate has 49 points. However Instituto de Cordoba has 49 points as well but they will play on Monday against15^th place Desamarados.

The EPL Newcastle defeated West Brom 3-1. Toons and Chelsea both have 50 points but the Blues are a plus 15 compared with Newcastle’s plus two.

Chelsea is in fifth place.

Toons are in sixth. 

Spurs are in fourth place with 55 points.

Eight points separate third thru sixth place.

The top four places in the EPL get a Champions League berth.

Flamengo picked up a huge won over Friburguense 1-0. The only goal of the match came in the 83^rd minute. Kleberson found the back of the net.

Mengao used their reserves in this match. Ronaldinho Gaucho, Vanger Lover and the rest had the day off. I don’t know why since these guys have been off for a month or so. All one has to do is look at the results. These guys suck.

UOL Santana não soube aproveitar as oportunidades, mas Kleberson mudou o rumo da partida. Agora, o Fla está em segundo lugar, com nove pontos no segundo turno do Estadual do Rio. 

O Flamengo quase abriu o placar aos 21min. O meio-campo Bottinelli cobrou escanteio direto para o gol do adversário. A bola bateu no travessão. O rubro-negro fez mais um lance de perigo aos 29min. O lateral direito Galhardo recebeu e tentou chutar, mas foi impedido pela zaga. A bola sobrou para Junior Cesar, que tocou para Luiz Antônio, o volante passou para Thomas, pela direita. O atacante cruzou rasteiro e mais uma vez a bola bateu na zaga. Diego Maurício ainda tentou continuar o lance, mas sem sucesso, já que a bola saiu pela linha de fundo.

Joel Santana said the decision to use the young guns produced a dramatic result.

O técnico Joel Santana tem sofrido com série de lesões no Flamengo. Porém, o treinador encontrou uma forma de tirar proveito dos desfalques. Trata-se do ‘uso’ das crias da base do Rubro-Negro. Man U was simply outplayed by Spanish side Athletic Bilbao. Actually they got their asses kicked. Sir Alex and the boys stunk the joint out. The Red Devils were pushed around at Old Trafford then at the Bilbao house. Man U lost 2-1 and 5-3 on aggregate.

Athletic Bilbao scored first. Fernando Llorente ripped the twines in the 23^rd minute.

Oscar added the death knell in the 65^th minute.

Rooney had a cosmetic goal in the 80^th minute.

Sir Alex said this about the ass whooping. “We can’t complain. In the first half we gave away a real soft goal. That was the last thing we wanted,” he told Channel Five.

“At the start of the second half they did really well and could have scored two or three more goals.

“We did better later on but nowhere near enough to win.”

Sir Alex told the press he had Sunday’s match with Wolves on his mind. No shit Sherlock. The Europa League is second-class compared to the Champions League.

“We decided to take Rio and Michael and eventually Ryan off because we were thinking of Sunday,” said Ferguson, who denied their exit would boost their league hopes.

In European play Man U has won three times in ten tries. The wins came against sides that stink.

Man City at least put up a better fight than Man U did. The Citizens made it interesting by scoring three second half goals to win the second leg 3-2 over Sporting Lisbon but lost on away goals 2-0. Both City and Sporting Lisbon tied on aggregate at three all but those away goals doomed Man City.

The only hope for glory is that the mighty boys from Old Trafford win the EPL.

Look folks when Man U was bounced out of the Champions League in the Group stage Sir Alex didn’t put much stock in the Europa League. This attitude was bourn out by the way the guys played in their two series against Ajax and Athletic Bilbao.

Rooney and boys were just going thru the motions.

Much of the Red Devils problems can be traced to them getting rid of several older players last year and brining in some new talent. When this happens there is always a drop in play.

David de Gee, Rafael, Johnny Evans, Ashley Young, and the like are getting their feet wet for the first time in real competition.

Chelsea will find this out when their older stars get kicked to the curb for younger players.

Mengao came up with a huge 2-0 win over Fluminense in the third round of the Taça Rio.

Goals by Ronaldinho Gaucho, PK in the 22^nd minute and a Kleberson rocket in the 27^th minute propelled the guys to the win.

Dumbo Ronaldinho was given the heave hoe in the 42^nd minute. This was a stupid foul and it may have cost us the match but Rubro-negro didn’t crack. Flamengo kept the clean sheet.

There is a war brewing inside Flamengo’s top brass. The board of directors doesn’t want Adriano while President Patricia Amorim wants him. Liverpool took Everton to the woodshed 3-0. Steven Gerrard hit the hat trick. But this is not the real story. Everton’s mental midget of a manager David Moyes decided not to start his strongest side. This massive stroke of brilliance cost the Toffees big time. Everton had a chance to move ahead of the Reds in the table.

Gerrard’s hat trick is the first in this derby since 1982.

With the win Liverpool has avoided dropping four straight League matches.

Mengao once again almost blew it against a second tier futebol club. Flamengo scored first on a brilliant goal by Vanger Love in the 11^th minute. Vanger missed the one on one with the keeper but he tapped in the miss.

Dumbo Rubro-Negro gave up a goal in the 59^th minute to Duque de Caxias Tiago Rodriquez. The long-range bomb was missed played by Felipe. This stupidity almost cost us big time but up stepped Ronaldinho Gaucho to score the match winner in the 86^th minute. Gaucho rammed home the PK to save the day.

This goal by Ronaldinho Gaucho cost Mengao 833 thousand dollars.

UOL- O gol de Ronaldinho Gaúcho na partida do último domingo, contra o Duque de Caxias, garantiu a vitória do Flamengo pela segunda rodada da Taça Rio, mas não evitou uma nova série de cobranças ao jogador por parte da torcida. Boo-Mengao has now dropped two matches in a row. The guys are really stinking the joint out. Vanger Love scored first but Flamengo gave up two goals and lost to Boavista 2-1.

This season is starting out really badly. If we continue to play this way Rubro-Negro will be whale dung when the real season begins in late May-The Serie A.

A estreia do Flamengo na Taça Rio foi marcada por sequência de lances inusitados. Os comandados de Joel Santana abriram o placar no início do jogo e davam sinais de que teriam vida tranquila na partida desta quarta-feira. Do you want to talk about crazy insanity on the pitch then the Carling Cup final is for you. Liverpool should have killed League Championship side Cardiff City. Except no one told the Welsh side. 

The Bluebirds scored first in the 19^th minute. Joe Mason ripped the twines. Liverpool leveled this sucker up at one all in the 60^th minute. Martin Skrtel found the back of the net.

The Reds took the lead in extra time. Dirt Kuyt ripped the twines in the 108^th minute. It sure looked like Liverpool would win but hold your horses for Cardiff City equalized in the 118^th minute on a brilliant put back by Ben Turner. This score came off a wild and crazy corner kick. It was pinball machine time. Dirt Kuyt failed to clear the rock.

Buda Bing buda boom on to PK shootout time.

Both Liverpool and the Bluebirds missed the first two shots in the PK death match.

It all came down to this. Cardiff City trailed 3-2. It was make or break time. Nail it and it’s live for another round. Miss and Liverpool wins. The man in the hot seat is the cousin of Steven Gerrard Anthony Gerrard. It’s shanked wide left. The Reds win.

Heartbreak city for the Bluebirds. Cardiff was trying to become the first Welsh club to win a title since 1922.

Steven Gerrard said this about the choke collar. “It’s always cruel when it comes to penalties, but there has to be a loser.

“It was always going to be that one of us was sad and one celebrating. I’ve got mixed emotions. Obviously I’m delighted to win the cup for our supporters, but I feel for Anthony and Cardiff.

In the Taça Guanabara Fluminense defeated Vasco 3-1. Po-de Arroz won their first Rio title since 1993.

UOL- Por ironia, o Vasco foi o “responsável” pela classificação do Fluminense para as semifinais da Taça Guanabara. Na última rodada do torneio, o time tricolor precisava vencer o Bangu e torcer para o rival conquistar um triunfo sobre o Boavista. Foi essa combinação de resultados que aconteceu. O Flu passou de fase, eliminou o Botafogo nas penalidades e bateu o Vasco na final.

Fred led Fluminense with the daily double. Mate Deco added the other goal for Po-de Arroz.

My guys from found a different way to lose. Vanger Love hit pay dirt first in the 2^nd minute then boo-Mengao gave up the equalizer in the 15^th minute. Alecsandro gave Vasco the big Mo they needed.

Vanger Love fired a long-range bomb from just outside the top of the box.

O jogo mal começou e o Flamengo saiu em vantagem. Aos 2, Vagner Love recebeu bola na entrada da área e aproveitou o fato de Ronaldinho confundir a zaga vascaína para driblar Fagner e abrir o placar. The reason for the Vasco win was Diego Souza.

Once again the boys found the answer to screw up a perfectly good unbeaten streak against Vasco.

Mengao had their chances to win this sucker but once again the guys couldn’t push the rock past the goal line.

Mengao has a hot date with Vasco in the semifinals of Taça Guanabara Wednesday night. The winner of this puppy will advance to the finals to take on the winner of the Botafogo-Fluminense winner.

Botafogo defeated Macaé 3-0 earlier in the day. Flamengo and Vasco will go to war on Wednesday in the semifinal of the Taça Guanabara.

Fogao and Fluminense will take to the pitch on Thursday in the other semifinal.
