Sir Alex and the boys put behind them the fiasco last Thursday at Athletic Bilbao. Sure the opponent is Wolves however the Red Devils showed why they are the class of the EPL.
This sucker was over by half time. Johnny Evans scored his first goal in 110 matches for Man U in the 21st minute. He nailed a point blank shot. Evans put it into the back of the net.
The mighty boys from Old Trafford were in control from the outset. A dumbo second foul by Wolves Ronald Zubar didn’t help. This was his second yellow card in a span of eleven minutes.
Man U responded by scoring two goals in a span of two minutes to salt this puppy away. Antonio Valencia 43rd minute and Danny Welbeck 45th minute plus one all but assured the Red Devils the points.
Chicharito hit the daily double in the second half. Man U comes away with a 5-0 win over Wolves.
The mighty boys from Old Trafford have won five league matches in a row.
Sir Alex and the boys are four points clear of City.
Man U has 70 points.
The guys have a plus 46.
City is a plus 49.
The Citizens battle Chelsea on Wednesday in City’s house. The Blues are playing well since Boas was sacked. This is a must win for City.
My guys from Arsenal battle Everton at our house. We are in a dogfight for third and fourth place. These are final two spots to see who goes to the Champions League.
Newcastle defeated Norwich City 1-0.
Liverpool defeated Stoke City 2-1 to advance to the semifinals of the FA Cup.
Chelsea destroyed Leicester City 5-2. The Blues advanced to the semifinals as well.

The EPL has found a way to stink the joint out big time in the Champions League. First my guys from Arsenal had their heads handed to them by AC Milan now Chelsea jumped out to an early 1-0 lead but gave up three goals and lost 3-1 to Napoli.
Milan is top dog in the Italian Serie A but Napoli give me a break. These cats are in sixth place and probably won’t make to next years Champions League.
The Blues ripped the twines first in the 27th minute. Juan Mata slotted home a misplayed clearance by Napoli’s Palo Cannavaro.
The Italian’s righted the shipped and scored the next three goals to win 3-1.
A daily double by Ezequiel Lavezzi led the way.
Mate Edinson Cavani scored as well.
This is becoming a deadly habit for the Blues. Chelsea takes the lead and blows it. Chelsea has not won in five straight matches in all competition.
So far the EPL sides have been a major disappointment in the Champions League. Man U bombed out in the group stage. City didn’t advance either. Now Chelsea and my Gunners played like schoolgirls so it looks like the EPL’s elite clubs are playing like crap.
Napoli leads 3-1 on aggregate. The second leg will be played at Chelsea’s house at Stamford Bridge.
Real Madrid took the early lead on a goal by Cristiano Ronaldinho in the 28th minute. CSKA Moscow found the equalizer in injury time (93rd minute) to level this puppy up at one all. A goal by Pontus Wernbloom broke the hearts of Los Blancos.
This should have been a Real Madrid win but they like the Chelsea wore the choke collar. The only difference is that CSKA Moscow and Los Blancos tied. This gives Real Madrid a heads up in the return match at their house.
Both Los Blancos and CSKA Moscow are tied one all on aggregate.

The big surprise coming out of Sunday’s play in the fifth round of the FA Cup was Stevenage holding the line against Tottenham. The Boro and Spurs tied nil-nil.
Stevenage had their chances and so did Tottenham but neither side could push the rock across the goal line.
Spurs did score a goal in the 56th minute. Saha found the back of the net but mate Parker was offside.
This was a good call.
Stevenage played tough “D” against Spurs. The Boro clogged the middle and forced Saha and company to fight through four or five defenders. Tottenham was never allowed to get their free following attack going and this gave Stevenage the tie.
Stevenage and Tottenham will have a replay at Spurs house.
Former Spurs keeper Chris Day who is now the keeper of the “D” for Boro said this ”We did lots of homework this week and worked really heard. The game got stretched at the end and we were on the front foot. We’ve had a tough game in the week at Sheffield Wednesday – and have got two clean sheets.”
Day added this- ”It’s a tight pitch here, quite dry today and bobbly – and it was windy.
”They had great possession but we banked up and anything they slung in the two centre-halves gobbled up.
”But we had some chances as well. We’ll be a long shot in the replay but this will be first time I’ll go there this season and not pay to get in. We’ll enjoy the occasion.”

My guys from Arsenal found another way to screw it up. This was our best shot at getting some hardware this season but the guys decided to stink the joint out and get their asses handed to them by Sunderland.
The Black Cats took it to us winning 2-0.
Kieran Richardson deposited the rock into the back of the net in the 40th minute. Stupid defending by Thomas Vermaelen set this sucker up. Vermaelen couldn’t clear the ball so he fired a header straight to Richardson. Richardson flat our beat the keeper Fabianski. Fabianski never had a chance.
The Black Cats applied the pressure all match long. My Gunners looked flat footed. We played without heart and passion. Sure we had a few chances but the guys looked like they were chasing shadows all match long.
Coup de grace came in the 78th minute. Another one of those stupid turnovers in the offensive end resulted in a quick breakout goal for Sunderland.
Vermaelen turned the ball over. Buda bing buda boom. The Black Cats flew down the other end of the pitch. It was a classic three on one break. This pressure resulted in an own goal by Chamberlain. Sunderland’s Sessegnon fired a shot. It hit the post and tricked on the goal crease. Chamberlain tried to sweep the ball away but instead flicked the ball into the back of the net.
It was 2-0 Sunderland.
Game, set and match to The Black Cats.
It’s on to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup for Sunderland. For my guys from
Arsenal it’s another one of those heartbreak defeats.
This season is unraveling fast.
My Gunners are on the verge of sinking fast into the abyss of not making the Champions League or the Europa League.
We suck.
Chelsea escaped with a one all tie with Birmingham at Stamford Bridge. The Blues trailed on 1-0 before David Sturridge scored in the 62nd minute. Chelsea also missed a PK in the 23rd minute by Juan Mata.
Everton shut out Blackpool 2-0 to advance to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.
Bolton beat Millwall 2-0.

My guys from Arsenal showed what they are made of. We fell behind 2-0 to Villa. Instead of folding up like a cheap tent my Gunners manned up and scored three-second half goals to win 3-2.
Two PK’s by Robin van Persie and a goal from Theo Walcott sent the boys into the next round of the FA Cup.
My Gunners started out fast but couldn’t convert.
Aston Villa struck first in the 33rd minute. Richard Dunn rose above the fray and nailed a powerful header. Stiliyan Petrov set this sucker up with a well-placed corner kick.
Villa made 2-0 on a goal by Darren Bent in the 45th minute.
The guys came roaring back.
This win showed the guys have the fortitude to come back from adversity.
The FA Cup weekend is over. Chelsea, Liverpool, Bolton, Stoke City, Norwich City, and Birmingham from the EPL advanced. Newcastle lost to Championship side Brighton 1-0.
League Two Crawley Town pulled the biggie-upset city of the day beating Hull City 1-0.
Stevenage defeated Notts County 1-0. Boro is in League Two while Notts County is League One.
So far in the FA Cup there have been a few surprises but most of the big boys have passed on through except for when EPL clubs battled each other like Liverpool-Man U, West Brom-Norwich City, Bolton- Swansea City, Chelsea- Queens Park Rangers.

Leicester killed Nottingham Forrest 4-0.
It’s on to the fourth round for the Foxes.
This sucker was over from the start. George Boateng’s own goal sealed Forrest’s doom.
A hat trick by Jermaine Beckford led the way for the Foxes.
Bolton advanced with a 2-0 win over Macclesfield.
Millwall destroyed Dagenham and Redbridge 5-0.
Darius Henderson led the way with a trifecta for the Lions.
The Daggers were completely outclassed.
Dagenham and Redbridge are playing in League Two.
The Daggers are one step from being sent down to the English Conference.
The Lions are through to the next round.
On Thursday Birmingham defeated Wolverhampton 1-0 to get a get outta jail free card.
The match winner came in the 74th minute when Wade Elliot tickled the twines.
Wrexham and Brighton played for 120 minutes. Nothing was settled. Both sides were tied at one all. Thus it came down to a PK shootout. Brighton wins in the PK shootout 5-4. The choke artist for the Red Dragons was Dean Kates.
Brighton gets their ticket punched as well.

My guys from Arsenal picked up a 1-0 win over Leeds in the FA Cup.
Thierry Henry scored the only goal of the match in the 78th minute.
Arsene Wenger used mostly second stringers in this encounter.
The win propelled the guys into the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Henry’s triumphant return to Arsenal gave us what we needed.
A “W” baby.
He is Arsenal’s top goal scorer.
Henry has ripped the twines 227 times for my Gunners
Henry left for Barcelona in 2007 and then moved on the MLS where he plays for the New York Red Bulls.
Henry is on a six-week loan with the guys.
There will be a full slate of matches this weekend in the EPL.

Sir Alex and the boys are not dead. The demise of Man U is vastly over exaggerated. The Red Devils are on the ropes yet they willed themselves to a huge 3-2 win over City in the FA Cup.
The Rooney man hit the daily double.
Man U was on fire from the outset.
This caused the Citizens a ton of trouble.
Rooney started out the hit parade when he nailed a powerful header top shelf in the 10th minute.
This puppy was set up by a Valencia’s dribble drive to the rack.
He made a perfect pass to Rooney.
This was all she wrote.
Vincent Kompany was set off in the 12th minute.
This changed the tone of the match.
Danny Welbeck scored in the 30th minute.
Rooney closed out the scoring when he missed a PK in the 40th minute but his put back of the rebound gave Man U a 3-0 lead.
City made it close by scoring two-second half goals but it wasn’t good enough.
Both City and Man U used most of their best players.
The mighty boys from Old Trafford came limping into this baby.
However the Red Devils proved why they are one of the top futebol clubs in the world.
Sir Alex said this about his funky star player the Rooney man- ”Wayne Rooney is a headline-maker, good or bad,” said Ferguson. ”It is the situation that existed many years ago with Paul Gascoigne. ‘We have seen the good stuff today but any flaws will be absolutely annihilated by the press. That is what they are like. That is what we are dealing with. Today was a magnificent performance.”
Even though Man U won Sir Alex wasn’t all that happy with the guys performance.
”It was ridiculous,” said Ferguson. ”We got careless and made City better than they were. They went defensive in the second half and waited for us to make mistakes – and we made them.
”Fortunately we scrambled away with a victory. From a position where we should have battered them.”
City’s boss man Roberto Mancini said this – ”This evening is important for the league,” he said. ”Now I think we can win the league because of the character we showed. United is a top squad in England. At Old Trafford, with 10 men for 40 minutes, they lost 6-1. Today we played for 80 minutes with 10 players, scored two goals and didn’t concede any chances.”

I am still on the road doing hoops play by play. The FA Cup is in full swing this weekend. The biggie that everyone is waiting for is the Man City-Man U match up on Sunday. This will be a war. Give City the edge. The Citizens destroyed Sir Alex and the boys in their first encounter. City has the Red Devils number so we will see what happens. The ones to watch today are Wolves Birmingham, Queens Park Rangers-Milton Keyes, and Swansea City-Barnsley.
