The Blues pulled a rabbit out of their hat. Chelsea took a 1-0 win over Barcelona in the first leg of their semifinal match up at Stamford Bridge. The Blues didn’t give up that all-important away goal to Barca.
Didier Drogba scored the only goal of the match in the 45th minute. Drogba fired home the point blank shot. Super Messi screwed up big time. His turnover allowed Frank Lampard to find Ramirez. Ramirez took it to the tin. Ramirez faked the shot and hit Drogba with a perfect pass. Into the back of the net for the score.
Game, set, and match for Chelsea.
Chelsea allowed Barcelona to have most of the possessions. But when Barca was within striking distance the Blues shut em down.
Pedro almost found the equalizer in the 93rd minute but his shot went clank off the post.
The moronic pundits told us that this would be a walk in the park for the mighty Barcelona. Not on this day.
On Wednesday Real Madrid lost to Bayern Munich 2-1 at the German’s house.
The mighty boys from Spain are behind the eight ball.
Los Blancos have the all-important away goal when they head back to Madrid for the second leg.
I think it would be great if Bayern Munich and Chelsea made it to the finals. These guys would stick it big time to the two Spanish clubs.
Will this actually happen?
Probably not. Both Real and Barca should win at their collective houses in the second leg of the semifinals next week.

My guys from Flamengo defeated Americano-RJ 3-1 to advance to the semifinals of Taça Rio. Mengao finished atop Group A with 21 points. Rubro-negro will battle archrival Vasco in the semifinals. Gigante de Colina beat us in the semifinals of the Taça Guanabara.
Deivid lead the Flamengo attack with the daily double. Mate Kleberson added a tally of his own to lead the guys to the win.
Vasco and Mengao will battle it out on Saturday. The winner will advance to the finals. Gigante de Colina defeated Flamengo 2-1 in the semi finals of Taça Guanabara.

Well a funny thing happened on the way to the forum. Someone should have told the Wig guys that my guys from Arsenal needed to win this sucker badly. So did the Latics. For Wigan is in a death race to get outta the drop zone.
Wigan pulled the major 2-1 upset over my Gunners at our house Emirates.
All the goals were scored in the first twenty-one minutes
The Wig guys scored the first two goals outta the box. Di Santos took the rock straight to the rack and pushed home the winner in the 7th minute. This was Di Santos first goal in 18 matches. The Latics Jordi Gomez scored their second goal. Gomez nailed the rebound after keeper Szczesny blocked the first attempt. This puppy was set up by a great run down the pitch by Moses.
We cut the gap to 2-1 when Thomas Vermaelen showed some hops when out leaped the keeper Ali Al Habsi in the 21st minute.
This was all she wrote as my guys crashed and burned big time.
This was Wigan’s first win against Arsenal.
Arsenal tried to mount an attack but we couldn’t get anything going against a very aggressive Latics side. This match was similar to the one the Wigs guys played against Man U. Wigan stuffed the middle, disrupted the offense and took it to the rack. This tactic took my Gunners out of their game.
Wigan has beaten the first and third place sides in the EPL in a period of one week.
Man U is top dog with 82 points. Man City is second with 77. Arsenal is third with 64. Tottenham is fourth with 59. Newcastle is fifth with 59 and Chelsea is sixth with 57. The Spurs, Toons, and the Blues all have a game in hand. So the race for last two Champions League spots is on. Gentlemen start your engines.
Wolves are whale dung with 23 and Wolverhampton is headed south.
Blackburn is in 19th place with 28.
Bolton is one step from safety with 29 points.
QPR is one step above the bye-bye zone with 31.
The Wanderers have a game in hand.
Wigan is in 16th place with 34 points.
Aston Villa is in 15th place with 35 points.
Both the Latics and Villa are not outta danger yet.
We are heading down the home stretch.

Sir Alex and the Boys served notice that they will not to give up their title without a fight. Man U flat out beat Aston Villa 4-0. The Rooney man started off the match when he nailed the PK in the 7th minute.
Danny Welbeck stretched the Red Devils lead to 2-0. Welbeck poked home the winner in the 43rd minute. Rooney completed his daily double in the 73rd minute. The Rooney man rammed home the shot through the keeper’s wickets to make it 3-0. This sucker was set up by Valencia’s great pass that found Rooney parked in front of the net.
Nani added the final goal in the 90th minute.
The mighty boys from Old Trafford lead is now back to five points with four matches left. City leads on goal difference. The Citizens are a plus 58 while Man U is a plus 54.
Man U has 82 points. Man City has 77 points.
My guys from Arsenal are sitting in third place with 64 points. My Gunners and Wigan will battle it out later today.
A win by Arsenal will stretch our lead to nine points over Tottenham. Spurs have a game in hand.
The Wig guys will be fighting for their very lives. Wigan is two points clear of the final bye-bye zone spot. Bolton has 29 points however the Wanderers have two matches in hand.
Chelsea tore apart Tottenham in a 5-1 rout to advance to the FA Cup finals where they’ll take on the Liverpool. This should be a war.

Man City did what they needed to do on this fine Saturday. The Citizens took Norwich City to the woodshed 6-1. It was close 2-1 at the sixty-minute mark however City scored the next four goals to put this sucker outta reach.
Carlos Tevez hit the hat trick. Mate Sergio Aguero had the daily double and Adam Johnson’s goal late in the match rubbed The Carnies face in the dirt. If I were Norwich City manager I would have had a few choice words for Roberto Mancini and then kicked his ass.
This was uncalled for. It was already 5-1. Call the fucking dogs off. Hey Mancini you will get yours. I hope to hell a side does the same thing to your ass.
In hockey terms the opposing team would send a goon out and kick one of your players asses to send a message to you and your bullshit.
One day you’ll get your face rubbed in it.
Man U leads Man City by two points. When Sir Alex and the Boys take to the pitch later today they will have to beat a reeling Aston Villa squad.
Swansea City took apart Blackburn 3-0.
Wolves and Sunderland tied nil and West Brom beat QPR 1-0.
The Swans win over the Rovers may have sent Blackburn packing.
Wolves are still whale dung with 23 points. Wolverhampton can kiss their butt bye-bye. Blackburn is one step above whale crap with 28 points. Bolton has 28 points but the Wanderers have two matches in had.
Bolton is one step from the get outta jail free card.
Wigan is one clear of the bye-bye zone with 31 points. My guys from Arsenal will take em on Monday.
The Hoops are 16th place with 31 points Queens Park Rangers are a minus 19. The Wigan guys are a minus –26.
Wolves are toast so the race for the final two you’re outta here zone is down to five clubs. Bolton, Blackburn, Wigan, QPR, and Aston Villa.
Liverpool defeated Everton 2-1 to advance to the finals of the FA cup.

The weekend is here and you know what that means more EPL futebol action. The biggie happening later today is Man City at Norwich City. The Citizens need to come out swinging for the fences. Man City can’t afford another loss or tie against a second tier club.
Man U takes on Aston Villa on Sunday. This sucker is at Sir Alex and the Boys house Old Trafford. The Red Devils can’t afford to stub their toe against Villa. We will know how close the race will be between City and Man U. It could be as little as two points or stay the same when the mighty boys from Old Trafford take to the pitch on Sunday.
My guys from Arsenal have a hot date with Wigan on Monday. We need to set the record straight and win this sucker big time. A win will give us eight points clear of Spurs. Let’s remember Tottenham has a game in hand.
So lets nail those cats to wall and give Gunner nation something to scream about.
Flamengo pulled off their end of the bargain by beating Lanus 3-0. However Emelec scored a last second goal against Olimpia to win 3-2 and thus send Mengao crashing and burning out of the Copa Libertadores.
Rubro-negro has no one to blame for this stupidity but themselves. Flamengo gave up a late goal against Emelec and thus Mengao lost 3-2. This lost last week killed us.

My guys from Mengao will find out real quick if the guys will advance to the knockout stage of the Copa Libertadores. Flamengo battles Lanus at our house Thursday night. A few things have to happen for Rubro-negro to advance. We need to get the big “W” and Emelec and Olimpia need to tie.
Don’t hold your breath.
This is do or die for Flamenguista nation.
Manager Joel Santana said the guys don’t have any margin for error. Things have to break the right way for Flamengo to advance.
Santana said Mengao must concentrate on beating Lanus and not think about the Olimpia-Emelec match.
River Plate is working its way out of hell. If Los Millionaires finish first or second in Nacional B they will get back to the Promised Land. Wigan did the unthinkable. The Wig guys beat Sir Alex and the Boys 1-0 for their first win against this storied club. This loss keeps the door open for Man City. The Citizens destroyed West Brom 4-0.
The Red Devils lead is cut to five points.
The Latics completely out played Man U. The mighty boys from Old Trafford stunk the joint out. This win may have saved the Wigs guys season. The win propels Wigan out of the bye-bye zone.
Shaun Maloney nailed the match winner in the 50th minute. Maloney lined this sucker up from just outside the top of the box.
My guys from Arsenal took care of business beating Wolves 3-0. Goals by Robin Van Persie, Yossi Benayoun, and Theo Walcott ripped the twines for my Arsenal guys.
Arsene Wenger was pleased with the result. All quotes taken from www.arsenal.com
“We started well and then had a situation where we could control the game. Did we push on or not? After that we played a bit with the handbrake on, they played deeper and defended like mad with a great spirit until the end of the game. If they keep that spirit then they still have a chance of staying in the league. On our part we controlled the game, although they actually had a spell in the second half where they created chances. Szczesny made a good save but after that it was a comfortable win.”
On being in the top three.
“I am very happy that we are in this position but I am also very cautious because some teams have been in that position before. We want to win our next game because where we have come from this season we must be focused. We have come from very deep and to stay in this position we have to focus on our next game.”

Man U is top dog with 79 points. Man City is second with 74 and Arsenal is third with 64.
We have now some breathing room. Tottenham is fourth with 59 points.
Newcastle is fifth with 59 points também. Spurs are a plus 19. Toons are a plus eight.
This is what I love about the EPL. Anything can happen. This season has been one wild and crazy affair. First the moron pundits gave City the title way back in January. Man U was playing like crap and dropped two straight to start the New Year. The spread was fifteen points. Man U went on a run. Sir Alex and the boys took thirty-four out of thirty six points.
Man U played tired. They didn’t have the push to the attack. Wigan flat out outplayed em. Sir Alex took out his best players during midway point of the match. He knew the guys weren’t going to win. Was this a smart move? Yes. There are five matches left in the campaign.
Sir Alex and the Boys are still in the catbird seat.
Sir Alex was not happy with the refs. “We had one a couple of weeks ago against Fulham when they claimed for a penalty when the ball was drilled from close range at Patrice Evra. You’re never going to get those,” Ferguson told Sky Sports.
“But when the offender is 15 yards away it’s a different matter altogether. The linesman’s clearly in view of it so that was disappointing. It was a penalty kick.”
Sir Alex did say the guys had their butts kicked. “We were completely dominated by Wigan; by playing three centre-backs they had a lot of time to build from the back. We went against them a bit more in the second half, but in the first half we were dominated.
“It was an off-night that you sometimes get in football.”
Stay turned for more to come.

Flamengo sure looked like they were dead in the water against Vasco. Mengao took the early lead. Deivid received a great pass from Vanger Love. Deivid deposited this sucker into the back of the net in the 16th minute.
Vasco rammed through the equalizer in the 50th minute. Diego Souza flat out beat the keeper to level this sucker at one all.
Both sides pushed the ball up and down the pitch. Mengao was saved in the 90th minute. Ronaldinho Gaucho teed up the PK for the match winner and gave Rubro-negro a hard fought 2-1 win over Gigante de Colina.
Flamengo sits atop the leader board with 18 points. Botafogo is second with 17. Resende is third with 12 points. The top two sides advance to the Taça Rio semifinals.
The final round of group play in the Taça Rio is Sunday. Mengao battles Americano RJ.

Monday was one of those huge days in the EPL. One upset city and a comeback tie for Fulham against Chelsea. This tie that may have killed the Blues shot at a Champions League spot. The loss by Spurs could have murdered their chances of over taking my guys for third place and staying in the top four.
This is a good thing for Gunner nation.
Tottenham stunk the joint out losing to Norwich City 2-1. The Canaries just may have stuck a dagger in Spurs chances of hanging on to one of the final two Champions League spots. Norwich’s Anthony Perkins dented the scoreboard in the 13th minute to give the Canaries a 1-0 lead. Tottenham found the equalizer in the 33rd minute. Spurs Jermaine Defoe chipped a brilliant shot over the keeper John Ruddy to level this sucker at one all.
The Canaries nailed the match winner in the 66th minute. Elliot Bennett nailed a rocket through the entire Spurs back line to seal the deal for Norwich City. This brain knocker sent the Tottenham faithful home in a tizzy. This was Spurs seventh loss in their last eight matches. Spurs are on the downward slide to hell.
Fulham and Chelsea were engage in a cage match. Both sides traded their best Monday punches. The Blues scored first on questionable PK. The Cottagers Murphy made a clean but clumsy challenge in the 44th minute. Frank Lampard nailed the PK for a 1-0 Blues lead.
Fulham kept the pressure up until they cracked the Chelsea “D” in the 82nd minute. Clint Dempsey nailed a header to level this puppy at one all.
This tie may have cost the Blues a shot at third place.
Newcastle is alive and well. Toons shut out Bolton 2-0.
Everton destroyed Sunderland 4-0.
Aston Villa and Stoke City tied at one all.
The race for places three, four and five looks like this. My guys from Arsenal are third with 61. Tottenham is hanging on fourth place by the hair of their chinny chin chin with 59 points. Newcastle has 59 points também but Spurs are a plus 19. Toons are a plus eight. Chelsea is the odd man out in sixth place with 57 points.
Later today Blackburn and Liverpool will take to the pitch at the Rovers house.
Wednesday is when Man City, Man U, and my Gunners all will have huge fixtures.
When the dust settles we will see where we stand in the race for the last two Champions League spots and if Sir Alex and the Boys will wrap up the title.
After Wednesday there will be five matches left.
