It is all over but the shouting in the Argentinos Clausura. Velez Sarsfield wrapped up the title last week when they beat Huracan 2-0.

This is a done deal for El Fortin.

Velez Sarsfield has won the Clausura the last two out of three years.

El Fortin won in 2009.

In 2010 Velez Sarsfield dropped to ninth place in the table.

The battle will be for second place between Lanus, Godoy Cruz, and Argentinos Juniors.

El Granate has 32 points.

Tomba has 31 points.

Bichos Colorados has 29 points.

Lanus is in the drivers seat. All El Granate has to do is win their final match.

Godoy Cruz needs to win and hope that El Granate either loses or ties.

Argentinos Juniors is a long shot to take over second place.

Too many things have to happen for Bichos Colorado to slip past Velez Sarsfield.

Argentinos Juniors needs to win by thirteen goals and hopes that El Fortin loses by thirteen.

This ain’t gonna happen in this lifetime.

The best Bichos Colorados can hope for is that Godoy loses their final match of the season.

If this happens Argentinos Juniors will capture third place.

Juan Martinez broke the dead lock in the 64^th minute.

Mate David Ramirez put this sucker away in the 90^th minute.

Lanus took care of business beating Independiente 2-1.

Argentinos Juniors and Estudiantes tied nil-nil.

Lanus jumps into second place with the win.

Godoy drops to third place.

Boca falls to sixth while River Plate is now in eighth place.

There are two matches left in the winter season.

Velez Sarsfield, Lanus, and Godoy Cruz are the only three clubs to compete for the title.

El Fortin has 33 points.

El Granate has 32.

Tomba has 28 points.

Swansea City booked their place in the EPL. The Swans defeated the Reading Choo-choo guys 4-2 at Wembley Stadium.

The hat trick by Swansea City’s Scott Sinclair spelled doom for the Royals.

Sinclair nailed two PK’s plus a laser shot into the back of the net in the 22^nd minute to send the Swans to the Promised Land.

Scott Sinclair turned the tide for Swansea City in two-minute span.

A PK in the 20^th minute and his lay up goal in the 22^nd minute.

The Reading Choo-choo guys made to the First Division for the first time in 2006-07 but were sent packing in after the 2007-08 season.

This is Swansea City’s first trip to the English Futebol first division.

Queens Park Rangers and Norwich City already booked their spots with the big boys by finishing first and second in the English League Championship.

Top dog in the Argentinos Clausura is Velez Sarsfield with 30 points.

El Fortin lost to Tigre 2-1.

Lanus is currently in second place with 29 points.

El Granate defeated Huracan.

Third place belongs to Godoy Cruz with 27 points.

Godoy plays later on Monday.

Boca defeated Newell’s Old Boys 1-0.

Los Xeneizes jumped to seventh place with 25 points.

River Plate and Olimpo tied nil-nil.

Los Millionaires is in eighth place with 24 big ones.

Shane Long hit the daily double to lead the Royals to finals against Swansea City to see who will get the final spot in the promotional battle to The Promised Land-The EPL.

Jobi McAnuff added an insurance goal in the 84^th minute.

Queens Park Rangers and Norwich City already have their ticket punched to the big dance.

In the Clausura Velez Sarsfield is top dog with 27 points.

Velez Sarsfield had a chance to widen the gap between them and Godoy but Lanus stepped up and sent the visitors packing.

Lanus won 3-2.

Second banana is Godoy Cruz with 26 big ones.

Third place belongs to Lanus with 23.

Boca Juniors is rising up the charts.

Los Xeneizes is currently in 8^th place after defeated hated foe River Plate 2-0 at the La Bombonera.

Boca has 22 points.

River Plate slipped to 7^th place with 22 points.

Los Millionaires has five losses while Los Xeneizes has six losses.

Both River Plate and Boca Juniors have a real shot to win the title.

This could mark the return to glory for both these storied Argentinos futebol clubs.

England leaped to the head of the class with a huge 2-0 win over lowly Wales in Group G play.

 Three Lions were clearly superior on this day. Frank Lampard nailed the gimmie PK in the 7^th minute.

A great penetration dribble drive into the box set this sucker up by Ashley Cole.

Darren Bent hit the roof of the net in the 14^th minute to make 2-0 England.

Glenn Johnson spilt the Welch “D”. Ashley Cole release and gets the pass. A one timer to Bent. Buda bing buda boom game, set, and match to Three Lions.

England sits a top Group G with ten points.

The only downer for the English side Rooney picked up a stupid yellow card and this will cost Three Lions dearly. Rooney has to sit out the next match.

In the Taco Rio Botafogo and Boavista tied nil-nil. This is a hug turn of events for Flamengo.

Mengao is in third place in the Taco Rio Group A with ten points.

Rubro-Negro has a game in hand.

We have eight points.

On Sunday, Flamengo battles Madureira. Madureira is in 7^th place in Group B with three points.

They are one step of bottom feeder Bangu.

This is a must win for Mengao.

In the Clausura, River Plate picked up a huge 2-1 win over Newell’s Old Boys.

Los Millionaires are now in 4^th place with 12 points.

Later today, the top clubs will be in action.

The race for the Clausura title is heating up. There is one week left in the season. For many years, Argentinos Juniors stunk the joint out but now they are top dog with 38 points.

Bichos Colorados defeated Independiente 4-3 on Sunday.

Argentinos Juniors scored the match winner in the dying moments of the match.

Matias Caruzzo nailed a close range header to propel Bichos Colorados into first place.

Second place Estudiantes and bottom feeder Rosario Central tied nil-nil. This tie could cost Los Pincharratas the Clausura title. Estudiantes was in first place prior to play on Sunday May 9^th.

Los Pincharratas has 37 points.

Godoy Cruz is in third place with 34 points.

River Plate ripped the twines in a 3-0 win over Racing.

Los Millonarios are in 12^th place with 22 points.

Boca Juniors lost to Huracan 2-1.

I bet the Los Xeneizos can’t wait until the Clausura is over.

Boca is currently in 15^th place.

If Argentinos Juniors can beat Huracan on Sunday May 16^th, the title is theirs.

If Bichos Colorados ties and Estudiantes losses the title is Argentinos Juniors, however if Estudiantes wins and Bichos Colorados losses or ties Los Pincharratas is the champ.

Oh yes, this is fun in the sun.

It all comes down to the last week of the season.

Estudiantes looks like they have the inside track to win the title.

They took care of San Luis on Wednesday night with a 2-1 win.

This victory moved Estudiantes into first place with 36 points.

Argentinos Juniors is a point back in second place 35 points.

Argentinos Juniors doubled up on San Lorenzo 2-1.

This was a huge away win for them.

Godoy Cruz is in third place with 31 points.

Godoy lost to lower level club Rosario Central 2-1.

This lost may have cost them a shot at the title.

Godoy was in first place on May 17^th but since then they have lost two out of three.

This is a killer. 

The boys from River Plate are in 15^th place with 19 points. Los Millonarios picked up a rare 2-1 win over Velez Sarsfield on Friday April 30^th.

Los Xeneizos are a touch better in 14^th place with 20 points. Boca Juniors defeated Independiente 3-2.

Both River Plate and Boca Juniors have been playing like crap for the past few years.

It has been reported that Riquelme could be quitting Boca once the Clausura ends on May 16^th.

This could mark the end of great run for Juan Riquelme at Boca.

Football in America had this to say- One of the greatest players in the history of Argentine football,” was how one TV pundit described him a few weeks ago. It’s a huge epithet to bestow on any player, but in the case of Juan Roman Riquelme, it might be justified.

Riquelme further stated- “Sunday could be my last match for Boca at La Bombonera,” Riquelme told one of the country’s main football TV shows on Monday. “Normally given the current state of contract negotiations] I wouldn’t go on the post-season tour with the rest of the squad.”

Boca finally got off the schnid with a huge 2-0 win over San Lorenzo. Riquelme returned to action for the Los Xeneizes. He led Boca to the win. Riquelme fired a perfect header into the teeth of the box. Mate Matias Gimenez ripped the winner in the fourth minute to give Boca a 1-0 lead.

Riquelme fed his buddy Martin Palermo NOT! Palermo tickled the twines in the 71^st minute to secure the win.

Riquelme and Palermo hugged each other after the goal.

Did they bury the Hackett?

I doubt it.

Winning cures all problems.

River Plate reverted to their losing ways. Los Millonarios stunk the joint out in a 1-0 loss to Estudiantes.

River Plate cannot score or win on a consistent basis.

Argentinos Juniors blasted relegation bound Gimnasia La Plata 3-1.

Atletico Tucuman tied two all with Rosario Central. Tucuman was given their walking papers. Adios amigo.

The Clausura looks like this.

Top dog is Estudiantes with 33 points. Argentinos Juniors is in second place with 32 points. Godoy Cruz is third with 31 points.

River Plate dropped to 17^th place. Los Millonarios has 16 points.

Boca is a notch better. Los Xeneizes has 17 points.

It is sad to see Boca and River stinking the joint out but it is nice to see clubs like Godoy Cruz, Argentinos Juniors, and Estudiantes compete for the Clausura title.

River Plate and Boca Juniors are stinking the joint out in 2010 version of The Clausura.

River Plate hasn’t scored a goal in God knows when. Los Millonarios haven’t won a league match since March 14.

River Plate and last place club Atletico Tucuman tied nil-nil. River’s headman Leonardo Astrada was given the heave-hoe.

Los Millonarios are hovering near the bottom of the table.

River Plate has won the most league titles in Argentinos futebol history. Los Millonarios have 33 league titles.

Boca Juniors head honcho quit on Friday. Abel Alves said I have had enough of this BS. I am outta here.

River and Boca stink big time.

River is in 18^th place with 13 points. Boca is currently in 14^th position with 14 points.

Not good guys.

Godoy Cruz is in the catbird seat with 28 points. Argentinos Juniors has 28 points but Godoy has better goal difference. Plus eleven is better than a plus seven.

Estudiantes is third with 27 points. Independiente is fourth with 27 points as well.

One point separates the top four sides.

The race is on in the Clausura.

A funny thing happened on the way to Barcelona. Our guys from Arsenal were missing their key players. It was a slaughter. Barca handed us our lunch 4-1.

What did you expect miracles.

The Gunners were without Fabregas, Alex Song, and Andrea Arshavin.

Jeez, this is like sending the lamb out to fight the wolves armed with a butter knife.

We never had a chance.

This is similar to a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.

Lionel Messi hit for the quadruple.

My grandmother could have done that against an injury depleted squad.

She’s been dead since 1976.

Messi is good but lets see how he would have done against our best.

Nicholas Bendtner scored Arsenal’s lone tally in the 18^th minute.

This was good but it went downhill from there.

Injuries are killing us.

Enough said on this subject.

In the Clausura Boca Juniors is a race to see how fast they can stink the joint out. Boca gave up a late goal to Rosario Central and wound up losing 2-1.

River Plate lost to Lanus 1-0.

Both River and Boca stink to high heaven.

Godoy Cruz shut out Velez Sarsfield 2-0.

Boca is hovering near the bottom of the table.

Boca is in 18^th place with 11 points.

Rosario Central is in 19^th with 11 points as well however; Boca is a minus six while Rosario Central is a minus seven.

River Plate is in 16^th place with 12 points.

Independiente sits atop the table with 27 points. Godoy Cruz is in second place with 24 points. Argentinos Juniors is third with 22 points.

Now the teams that have stunk the joint like Argentinos Juniors and Godoy are flying high while top clubs Boca and River are bottom feeders.
