My guys from Arsenal won on the road.
This was a huge 2-1 win over the pesky Blackburn Rovers.
We did good but there were several mix-ups and sloppy “D” that could have cost us the big “W”.
Theo Walcott ripped the twines in the 20th minute to give us Gunners a 1-0 lead.
This baby was the direct result of a great counter attack.
Robin Van Persie took the ball and drove the left sideline.
Persie set up mate Walcott with a beautiful pass. All Theo Walcott had to do was deposit the ball into the back of the net.
Walcott’s rocket literally ripped the twines off the left side of net near the left post.
This was truly a rocket.
Blackburn nailed the equalizer in the 27th minute.
Rovers Hadji Diouf made the Gunners defender Laurent Koscielny look like a schoolgirl.
Wham. Bam. Diouf hands Koscielny his jock.
Hadji hits mate Mame Diouf who jams the ball into the back of the net.
I thought here we go again.
Get a crap tie on the road.
But no! My Gunners picked themselves up by the bootstraps and scored the winner in the 51st minute.
Andrei Arshavin nailed the rebound off a miss by mate Cesc Fabregas to give us the all-important road win.
The bad news is this.
Our top player Robin Van Persie left the match in the 35th minute with an ankle injury.
Headman Arsene Wenger thinks RVP will miss about ten days.
This was a huge road win for the Gunner Nation.
The biggest surprise of the day was when lowly Wigan pulled the upset city match of the day by beating Tottenham 1-0 at Spurs house-White Hart Lane.
What did I tell ya!
Spurs are in above their heads.
Tottenham didn’t play worth a crap.
Spurs key scorer Jermain Defoe is playing with an injured groin.
Peter Crouch isn’t worth a damn.
Sure, Tottenham had most of the possession but the name of the game is to put the ball into the back of the net.
Maybe Spurs should take lessons from my guys in Brasil Flamengo who couldn’t find an acorn with a GPS system.
Welcome to the real big leagues Tottenham.
This is a different animal.
Other than that business as usual in the EPL, Chelsea beat up little sisters of the poor Stoke City 2-0.
Blackpool and Fulham tied two all.
Newcastle and Wolves kissed their sister one all.
Manchester United blasted West Ham 3-0 on Saturday. We’ll talk about that more on Monday.

Day one is the books for the EPL.
What have we learned?
Chelsea kicked ass in their 6-nil win over newly promoted West Brom.
So, what else is new?
Nada.
This result was entirely expected.
West Brom hung in there in the first half.
The Baggies were only down 2-0 at half before the floodgates opened in the second half.
Didier Drogba hit for the hat trick.
Mate Florent Malouda nailed the daily double.
Frank Lampard added a marker as well in this blow out city win.
Tottenham and Man City fought to a nil-nil draw.
Spurs had the best of it but Tottenham couldn’t crack the code.
This tie could cost them in the long run.
Newly promoted Blackpool pulled the upset special.
The Seasiders shut out Wigan 4-0.
Blackpool last played in the EPL 39 years ago.
1971 was the exact year.
Congrats, to the Seasiders in their first EPL win in many a moon.
Blackburn Rovers defeated Everton 1-0.
Tim Howard’s gaffe in the 14th minute gave the Rovers their needed margin of victory.
Howard came off his line. Instead of grabbing the ball, he knocked the ball to Blackburn’s Nikola Kalinic who deposited the gift into the back of the net.
Game, set, and match to the Rovers.
How much did Howard’s playing in the USA friendly against Brasil on Wednesday hurt him?
Lots!
Stop this stupid friendly crap after the World Cup is done so players can get ready for the EPL.
Give me a freakin break.
The FIFA idiots should be shot.
Bolton and Fulham tied nada-nada.
Sunderland and Birmingham tied at two all.
Aston Villa killed West Ham 3-nil.
Wolves defeated Stoke City 2-1.
The biggie today is Liverpool and Arsenal.
Go Gunners,
Kick some major butt guys.
We need the big “W”.
De Futebol
Today it is for real. The EPL begins play.
The headline match will be Manchester City and Tottenham. This should be a barnburner. Both sides will be loaded and gunning for bear.
Fasten your seat belts folks. Buckle yourself in and watch a wild and woolly affair.
Spurs have some really good players.
Tottenham’s main man will be Jermain Defoe.
Let’s see if Defoe can duplicate last years scoring pace.
I still think Spurs played way above their heads last year. Tottenham will finish in eighth or nine place.
City on the other hand has the head case Carlos Tevez. Tevez is a great player but he doesn’t want to play for Manchester City.
Tevez and Mancini do not get along.
Let’s see how this friction will translate on the pitch.
City will finish just out of the money.
Tottenham is playing at their house White Hart Lane.
Chelsea opens defense of their title against newly promoted West Brom.
The Blues should win hands down but all you Chelsea fans don’t get too excited.
The Blues are on the down side of forty.
The squad is old and Chelsea may win the crown.
Drogba and the rest are inching towards thirty.
This means they guys will start to break down.
Everton takes on Blackburn.
The Toffees have one of the best keepers in the world Tim Howard.
This will be a good one.
Let the games begin.
De Futebol
What did I tell ya. Sure, it came to the final week of the season before Chelsea was crowned champ.
We all knew when the Blues beat Liverpool the title was theirs.
Chelsea killed Wigan 8-0.
Man U ended the season in second place one point shy of top dog Chelsea.
The mighty boys from Old Trafford clobbered Stoke City 4-0.
My guys from Arsenal finally did it. We won big time over Fulham 4-0 to secure third place for us.
Tottenham took the foot off the pedal and lost to Burnley 4-2. Spurs took a commanding 2-0 lead but couldn’t hold on to the lead.
The Clarets are heading down but they shocked Tottenham by scoring the final four goals of the match.
This was a huge win for the heave-hoe Clarets.
Headed outta here are Portsmouth, Hull City and Burnley.
Chelsea stopped Man U from a historic four-peat. This keeps in tack the fact that no EPL side has won four straight titles.
The Blues had 86 points.
Man U had 85.
The difference the mighty boys from Old Trafford has one more home loss than the Blues.
Chelsea had one home loss. Man U had two.
The Blues had one more road tie than Manchester United.
Chelsea had four. Man U had three.
Wayne Rooney and Didier Drogba both tied for most goals with 26.
The final curtain comes down on another EPL season.
Chelsea won the title but the Blues need to find younger players for their older stars.
The Blues window for more titles is slowly winding down.
Both Man U and my guys from Arsenal should be favorites to win next years title.
The surprise of the season was Tottenham clinching the fourth spot in the Champions League.
Most folks thought it would be either Arsenal or Liverpool.
The biggest stink job of the season Liverpool.
The wheels completely came off the wagon.
The Reds finished seventh with 63 points.
Liverpool had eleven losses on the season.
The title for the most money spent with nothing to show for it goes to Man City.
The crybaby award goes to Carlos Tevez.
Tevez left Man U to City for a fat paycheck.
Now he is crying the blues.
The Carlos man has no title to show for his fat wallet.
He wants outta here.
Sir Alex knew what he was doing when he gave Tevez the voce vai.
I can’t wait for next year.
De Futebol
This is a very sad weekend for all us futebol junkies. The EPL season is ending on Sunday. Chelsea should be crowned champion unless something really crazy happens.
Man U had a great run at the historic four-peat but the boys from Old Trafford came up a nickel or so short.
My guys from Arsenal gave up on the season the last two weeks. This could us cost third place if we don’t win on Sunday.
If Spurs win and we lose, there will be all kinds of hell to paid. I don’t want to be in the locker room if this happens.
I guarantee you Fabianski and company will be drawn, shot, and quartered by Arsene Wenger.
Spurs were the surprise team of the EPL.
No one expected Harry and the boys to claim the final spot in the Champions League and have a real shot at finishing third.
Man City spent millions to buy a title.
NOT!
Real Madrid também.
NADA!
Money helps but you have to have the right chemistry.
Chelsea is getting older. This will be their last hurrah.
Drogba and company is getting older.
The Blues window is rapidly closing.
Chelsea doesn’t have any younger players waiting in the wings.
Man U and Arsenal are set for a long time.
Why?
They have the younger players that are ready to step in.
Yes, my guys from Gunner land will be a team to be reckoned with next season.
What did I tell you about this year being a wild and crazy season in the EPL.
Not to gloat but I will.
I said since August 2009 that the race for title will come down to the final week.
I was right.
This crazy and dumb Yank knows more that he lets on.
I do know futebol.
Trust me.
I am sad the EPL will be over but at the same time the Campeonato de Brasil is beginning this Sunday.
Lets see if my beloved Flamengo can pull off the daily double.
I doubt it but I am hoping.
This American is a Flamenguista through and through.
Mengao takes on the evil empire Sao Paulo on Sunday.
Lets hope the idiots can fight through the mess, pull together, and play for the new coach.
World Cup is on the way baby.
GO BRASIL.
De Futebol
Arsenal has pulled the plug on the season. The Gunners stunk the joint out in a 2-1 loss to Blackburn.
This sucks big time.
I am depressed.
The idiot in goal Lukasz Fabianski needs to drawn, shot, and quartered.
RVP ripped the twines in the 13th minute to give us a 1-nil lead then all hell broke loose.
Fabianski the clown for a keeper gave up two goals he should have stone cold stopped.
Fabianski’s bad keeping cost us the match.
The Rovers scored twice on goals by David Dunne 43rd minute, and Christopher Samba in the 68th minute to send us home packing for good.
Yes, we have third place wrapped up but Jeez guys way to snatch defeated from the jaws of victory.
This camper is not very happy.
I am down right pissed to say the least.
Sure, we will finish in the top three but give me a break this is not the way to end up the season.
This is a total downer.
We stink big time on the road.
The Gunners have eight wins, four ties, and seven losses on the road.
This is worse than bad.
To win the title you have to have a good road record.
Chelsea will be crowned champ. The Blues are 10-4-5 on the road. Man U is 11-3-5.
The difference came down to Chelsea having one more tie on the road while Man U lost twice at home compared to Chelsea’s one home loss.
Man U missed by that much.
De Futebol
Except for a small blip in the 16th minute Man City was in total control. City defeated Aston Villa 3-1.
This loss kills Villa’s chances of making it to the Champions League.
Villa drew first blood on a great counter attack. John Carew ripped the twines to give Villa the early 1-nil lead.
Man City kept up the pressure. The pressure finally got to Aston Villa when City’s Adam Johnson was taken down in the right side of the box.
Carlos Tevez powered the PK past Villa keeper Brad Friedel in the 41st to tie this baby up at one all.
Fifteen seconds later Villa’s John Carew hit a perfect shot. It went clang off the cross bar.
City whamo bamo flies down the other end of the pitch. Emmanuel Adebayor hits a winner in the 43rd minute to give City a huge 2-1 lead.
Villa tried to mount a comeback but Man City was too strong.
Craig Bellamy’s strike in the 89th minute sealed the deal for City.
Tottenham kept pace by beating Bolton 1-0.
Tom Huddlestone hit for pay dirt in the 38th minute for Spurs.
Tottenham hangs on the final Champions League with the win on Saturday.
Spurs have 67 points. City has 66.
With Villa losing, this drops them to sixth place with 64 points.
The final Champions League will probably come down to Spurs City’s match on Wednesday May 5th.
Can you say for all the marbles?
The winner should nail down the final spot.
At the other end of the spectrum, Burnley was given their walking papers.
Birmingham doubled up on The Clarets 2-1.
Voce vai Burnley.
Portsmouth picked a win over Wolverhampton 3-1.
This was a nice win for the heave-hoe team Pompey.
So far, Burnley and Portsmouth are outta here.
Hull City will probably get the axe on Sunday.
West Ham is in 17th place with 34 points.
The Tigers have 28 points.
De Futebol
We are in the stretch run in the EPL. Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal have two matches left.
Chelsea and Man U are locked in a death match to see which side will win the EPL crown.
Chelsea is top dog with 80 points. Man U has 79.
Fire up the Afro burners baby the race is surely on.
The mighty Red Devils are going for the historic four-peat.
By Sunday afternoon, we will have a good idea on who will have the inside track to win the title.
Liverpool takes on the Blues at Anfield on Sunday. The Red Devils need to have the Reds beat Chelsea if not Chelsea will win the title.
The mighty boys from Old Trafford travel to the Stadium of Light to take on Sunderland. Sunday too.
Rooney will surely be out so the waste of a strike Berbatov must find the back of the bet. A blind squirrel can find an acorn every so often. The Red Devils need to him find the back of the net.
Nani and the gang need to step up as well.
The Reds need to be on the top of their game if they want to derail the Blues. Liverpool has an outside chance to secure the final Champions League spot but several things must happen.
Tottenham takes on Bolton on Saturday. Tottenham needs to run the table to hold on the final spot.
Man City has a hot date with Aston Villa. Villa has 64 points. The same as Spurs but Tottenham has a better goal difference. A plus 24 compared to a plus 16.
City is a point back at 63.
Liverpool has 62 points.
Yikes, this tighter than a size forty-eight man trying to squeeze into a size thirty pair of pants.
My guys Arsenal still have a long shot of chance to win the title however both the Blues and Man U need to blow it big time.
We have a date with Blackburn on Monday.
Three points are a must for the Gunners.
De Futebol
The race is on for the top spot and the final Champions League spot.
Chelsea killed Stoke City 7-0. No surprise there.
Liverpool shut out Burnley 4-0. What did you expect? An upset? No way Jose.
Aston Villa got by Birmingham 1-0.
We have a logjam in the race for the final Champions League spot.
Tottenham and Aston Villa are tied on points at 64 each but Spurs has a better goal difference a plus 26 compared to a plus 16. Manchester City is sixth place with 63 points. Liverpool is in seventh place with 62 points.
Two points separate fourth through sixth place.
Both City and Spurs have a game in hand.
Manchester City and Tottenham will battle each other in the make up match on May 5th.
All Tottenham has to do win out and the final Champions League spot will be theirs.
City needs to run the table and the spot is theirs.
Liverpool needs help.
The Reds need to win both of their final two matches and hope that City, Spurs, and Villa stub their toes big time.
Villa needs to run the table and hope that Tottenham lose one of their last three matches.
Chelsea moves into the pole position with 80 points. Man U is a point back at 79.
The difference may come down to this. Rooney will surely miss the final two matches due to his pulled groin.
Can the Red Devils sweep their final two matches at Sunderland and at Old Trafford agianst Stoke City?
Chelsea takes on Liverpool and ends the season against Wigan at home.
Will the Reds upset the apple cart and beat the Blues at Anfield?
Man U is sure hoping so.
If not Chelsea will win the title and stop the Red Devils from achieving a historic four-peat.
I don’t see Wigan winning at Stamford Bridge on May 9th.
Gentlemen put on boxing gloves for it is show time.
The envelope please.
And the winner is…we will know on May 9th.
De Futebol
Manchester United has done it. The Red Devils defeated Tottenham 3-1 at Old Trafford minus Wayne Rooney. The Rooney man is out at least three weeks said headman Sir Alex.
Rooney has an injured groin.
Ouch, that hurts.
This did not deter Man U. Ryan Giggs nailed two PK’s in the 58th and 85th minutes. Nani nailed a perfect looping shot over the keepers Gomes head in the 81st minute to send the Red Devils to a much needed win.
This squarely puts the pressure on Chelsea to beat Stoke City on Sunday.
Spurs needed this win badly too. But Tottenham could not find the answer after Nani’s goal in the 81st minute.
A great pass by youngster Federico Macheda set up Nani’s goal.
This loss could have cost Tottenham the final berth in the Champions League.
This will all depend on how the match turns out between my guys Arsenal and Manchester City later today.
Man U is now top dog with 79 points.
The Mighty boys from Old Trafford have two matches left.
Oh what a relief it is.
Spurs have a two-point lead over City. This could change after today.
Both City and Spurs have a game in hand. They will play their game in hand against each other on May 5th.
You gotta love it.
It may come down to this match to decide who gets the final Champions League spot.
This was not the result we were looking for. Arsenal and City kissed their sister nil-nil. Both sides had limited chances.
For my perspective, it looked like we were playing not to lose. It was good to see Van Persie back in the lineup.
The Gunners seemed just out of synch. We had a majority of the possessions but Arsenal could not connect.
Real scoring chances were few and far between.
A tie is cool but we need the big “W”.
Van Persie played okay. He needed to get his sea legs.
He’s got em.
I am I happy with the result no but I will take it.
Tottenham can thank their lucky stars that City didn’t pull off the upset win.
Spurs can breath a little bit easier.
Tottenham has 64 points. City is a point back at 63. Villa has 61 points and the Reds have 59 points.
Villa entertains Birmingham and Liverpool battles Burnley on Sunday.
If both sides can win, the race for the final Champions League spot will be a real logjam.
West Ham scored a late goal to lift the Hammers past Wigan 3-2.
The Hammers are six points clear of the drop zone.
Portsmouth is outta here.
Burnley and Hull City looks like they might get their tickets punched as well.
We will see.
Hull City lost to Sunderland 1-0.
I don’t see Burnley pulling off upset city against the Reds.
Stranger things have happened.
