I couldn’t believe it when I saw the score for the Corinthians Sao Paulo match on Sunday night.

Timao handed the evil empire their heads 5-0.

This was a total whitewash.

Tricolor was on a roll. 

Sao Paulo was five for five until the Paulistas had their butts handed to them.

Tricolor is in the pole position with 15 points.

Corinthians is in second place with 13 points.

Timao has a game in hand.

Third place belongs to Palmeiras with 11 points.

Botafogo has 11 points but Fogao is a plus three while Alviverde is a plus 5.

My Flamengo boys jumped three spots to seventh place.

Mengao has 10 points.

Rubro-Negro is the top scoring club in Serie A with 13 goals.

We have only given up six goals.

Only fours sides have given up less.

Three of those clubs are ahead of us in the table. Corinthians has given up three.

Botafogo and Palmeiras each has allowed five

Santos has given up only three but Peixe has only scored five times.

Peixe is in 16^th place with one point.

Santos has two games in hand.

Mengao has a huge return match with Atletico-MG on Wednesday June 29^th.

Lets see how well we can do at Coelho’s house.

Sao Paulo defeated Atletico-MG 1-0.

Tricolor’s Casemiro scored the only goal of the match in the 17^th minute.

He dialed up a bomb from just outside the box.

Casemiro’s shot flat out beat the keeper low left.

With the win, Sao Paulo catapulted into the pole position of the Serie A.

This was a huge road win for Tricolor.

On paper, Atletico-MG out shot and pretty much out played Tricolor but matches are not won on paper. They are won on the pitch by out scoring your opponent.

The Paulistas have nine points.

With Rubro-Negro’s one all tie with Timao dropped us four spots in the table from fifth to ninth.

Two separates the top nine clubs.

We are only three weeks into the season and the way it looks now we could be in for a horse race the entire year.

With that said anything can happen.

Mengao and Corinthians tied one all at Flamengo’s house. Willian dented the scoreboard first for Timao in the 19^th minute.

Willian slipped a one timer past the naked keeper.

This was set up by a dribble drive to the right goal line by Weldinho.

Rubro-Negro was forced to react thus leaving the keeper one on one with Willian.

Weldindo spotted Willian was free near the goalmouth so he slipped Willian the pass.

Bingo into the back of the net.

Rubro-Negro scored the equalizer in the 39^th minute.

Renato Abreu dialed up a long-range bomb of a free kick to level this sucker one all.

This was Mengao’s first real test of the season.

A tie isn’t fatal but this dropped us to mid table.

This is not good.

Mengao is in ninth place with five points.

Two points separate the top nine places in the table.

As we speak, Corinthians is top dog with seven points.

Sao Paulo and Atletico-MG have yet to play.

Mengao sits in fifth place with four points.

Timao is currently in fourth place with six points.

Sao Paulo, Vasco, and Atletico-MG have six points.

The pole sitter is Galo with a plus five.

Second place belongs to Gigante de Colina with a plus five.

Third place is Sao Paulo with a plus three.

Rubro-Negro has a tough battle against Corinthians.

I am not saying this is a must win situation but this test will see if Mengao is for real or just pretenders for the crown.

Ronaldinho Gaucho needs to be at the top of his game.

Wanderley, Leo Moura, and Renato must come up big.

The old guy Petkovic must play lights out também.

Mengao fell behind early 2-1 to Bahia. Flamengo scored two second half goals to take a 3-2 lead but the boo-Mengao gave up a goal in the 90^th minute to snatch a tie from the jaws of victory.

Instead of winning this sucker Rubro-Negro came way with a tie.

We now have four points.

Flamengo currently sits in 5^th place.

This is shades of last year’s stinko of a season.

Ronaldinho Gaucho scored first for Mengao in the 29^th minute.

This leveled this puppy at one all.

Esquadrao de Aco scored first in the 24^th minute.

Luhinha found the back of the met.

Bahia made 2-1 in the 36^th minute on a great goal by Jobson.

Jobson hit the daily double in the 90^th minute to level this sucker at three all in the 90^th minute.

Top dog after two rounds is Atletico-MG with six points.

Vasco, Sao Paulo, and Corinthians each have six pints as well but Coelho is a plus five.

Way to dodge a huge bullet guys. Mengao stunk the joint out in a 2-1 loss to Cruzeiro at Volta Redondo. It sure looked like we were in danger of getting the heave-hoe. Not this year. Flamengo is safe for now.

You gotta read the headlines in the Brasileiros press about Flamengo’s latest killing at the hands of Atletico-MG. You gotta believe that Mengao is trying their damnedest to get sent packing.

Globo Esporte- Atlético-MG humilha o Flamengo de Luxemburgo e se distancia do Z-4

Rubro-Negro had their hands handed to them by Atletico-MG 4-1.

This sucker was over from the get go.

Flamengo didn’t even bother to show up.

Rubro-negro sat back and counter attacked.

Great move fools.

Mengao’s keeper Marcelo Lomba can’t stop a shot to save his life. Lomba is not Bruno. If Bruno was playing Flamengo would have at least a fifty-fifty chance to win. Now it is more like a 35% chance to win.

This was a typical phone it in job.

Flamenguista nation is mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore.

This was a pay back time for Galo. Former headman Luxemburgo left Atletico-MG in September 2009. Galo was on the verge of getting the heave-hoe. Luxemburgo is Mengao’s headman.

Three points separate us from getting 86^th.

There are three matches left.

Lot’s of fun stuff to talk about today.

Lets start with the Campeonato.

Fluminense is top dog with 61 points. Second place belongs to Corinthians with 60 points. Sitting in third place is Cruzeiro with 60 points também. Timao has a better goal difference. Corinthians has a plus 21 while Raposa is a plus 12.

Mengao is buried in 13^th place with 40. Flamengo is a perfect zero goal difference yet this is a deceiving number.

In our last four matches, Rubro-Negro has given up five goals while scoring only four.

This is a minus one.

Flamengo “D’ has been suspect all year. At times Mengao has looked great while times we looked like a machine gun riddled body.

Marcelo Lomba has taken over for super keeper Bruno in June of this year. Bruno is the hoosegow for murder. Lomba is good but he ain’t no Bruno.

Bruno was bad at times but he could flat out play keeper.

Flamengo sorely misses the murdering bastard.

There are four matches left in the season.

Our title hopes are dead but we need to win two out of our last four matches to avoid the drop-dead zone.

Up on Saturday is Atletico-MG at Galo’s house in Mineiro.

Galo is one-step above the voce vai zone.

Atletico-MG has 36 points.

A win would give Galo 39 points.

It’s all about the “W’s” baby.

Luxemburgo will start Petkovic, Diego Mauricio, and Diogo.

Wenger added about the tussel with  Wolverhampton- Overall it was a committed game and a very correct one. Wolves were physically very strong tonight and kept a high tempo for 90 minutes and I must say I was impressed by them. But I was as well impressed by our spirit, our determination and our resilience. Today we have seen a side of my team that will be very important throughout the season.

Wenger spoke about the availability of Kieran Gibbs- We should not have any bad news from last night,” said the manager. “The squad should be the same.

“We could have Gibbs available to be part of it again too. We’ll make the decision at the end of the week. He is back in normal training. It is just whether he is fit or not.”

Wenger said he would make some changes for our upcoming match against Everton. There are always one or two changes,” said the Frenchman. “Some players have played a lot and we have some fresh, quality players on the bench.

Timao trails league leader Fluminense by one point.

These are huge mid week matches in the Campeonato.

Fluminense entertains Gremio on Thursday.

There are lots of fourth round Carling Cup matches taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I will bet dollars to holes in doughnut that Arsene Wenger will rest his top guys. You can expect Jack Wilshere, Nicholas Bendtner and the rest will get lots of playing time.
