It is all over but the shouting in the Argentinos Clausura. Velez Sarsfield wrapped up the title last week when they beat Huracan 2-0.
This is a done deal for El Fortin.
Velez Sarsfield has won the Clausura the last two out of three years.

Godoy Cruz needs to win and hope that El Granate either loses or ties.
Argentinos Juniors is a long shot to take over second place.
Too many things have to happen for Bichos Colorado to slip past Velez Sarsfield.
Argentinos Juniors needs to win by thirteen goals and hopes that El Fortin loses by thirteen.
This ain’t gonna happen in this lifetime.
The best Bichos Colorados can hope for is that Godoy loses their final match of the season.

Goals by Araujo in the 79th minute and Deco in the 86th minute saved Fluminense’s bacon on this Wednesday night in the Copa Libertadores.
Deco has been out two months due to an injury and his winning goal kept Po-de-arroz in the hunt to advance to the next round in the Copa.
With the win, Po-de- Arroz moves inches closer to second place America.
Flu has five points while Mexican side America has six.
Top dog in Group 3 is Argentinos Juniors with seven points.
The next two matches are due or die for Flu. Po-de-arroz needs to win both matches if they are to advance.

Flu has three matches left and they realistically need to run the table to make to out of group play.
Santos didn’t fair much better either.
Peixe and Cerro Porteri tied one all.
Santos is in third place with two points after two matches.
At least Peixe is not outta touch with the leaders Cerro Porteri.
Cerro Porteri has four points.
Second place belongs to Colo Colo with three points.
At least Gremio, Internacional, and Cruzeiro are holding up Brasileiros pride.
This is only the start so anything can happen.
Flu is the club that is in the most danger so far with three matches remaining.
Internacional is the defending 2010 Copa Champion and Colorado became the first South American side not to make to the FIFA World Club Championship finals.

Fluminense pulled a rabbit out of their hat. Flu scored two second half goals to earn a two all tie with Argentinos Juniors in Group play of the Copa Libertadores.
The Copa is the oldest South American futebol competition.
It began in 1960.
Club teams from all South America fight for the title.
Second half goals by Rafael Moura scored in the 57th and 73rd minutes saved Fluminense from crashing and burning in Estadio Olimpico in Rio de Janeiro.
Both Argentinos Juniors and Fluminense are in Group 3.
This competition will end June 22nd, 2011.
UOL wrote this- O início do Fluminense na Libertadores ficou a desejar.
Flu was coming off a loss to Botafogo in the Carioca Campeonato on Sunday.
Com os dois gols, Rafael Moura chegou ao seu quarto pelo Fluminense em duas partidas. O atacante já tinha feito dois no último domingo, quando o Tricolor foi derrotado pelo Botafogo por 3 a 2.
Concerning the National Team all of Brasil is nuts city. The entire nation is looney tunes that Brasil stunk the joint out in 1-0 loss to France.
Sure Brasileiros were playing with ten men when the idiot Hernanes was given the heave-hoe in the 40th minute.
Brasil hasn’t beaten France in friendly matches since 1992.

Lots of crazy futebol news coming out of Argentina so lets get it on. First Boca Juniors stole Argentinos Juniors headman Claudio Borghi. Borghi led Argentinos Juniors to their first title in 25 years.
Los Xeneizos has stunk the joint out the past two years. They flat out stink.
Will this change the direction of the Boca Juniors ship?
We will find out.
The chief futebol idiot of the Argentina Maradona named his World Cup squad. Messi. Tevez and Gonzalo Higuain are the headline players.
Higuain, Tevez, and Messi give Maradona’s team real firepower up front.
Noticeably missing is Juan Riquelme.
Martin Palermo was selected.
Hopefully this experiment with the passer Maradona in charge will work out?
Lets see for I have serious doubts Maradona is the right man for the job.
If Maradona is such a good coach, how come Argentina was the last to make to the World Cup?
This is not a good sign.
Looking over the Argentinos side does look good.
Maxi Rodriquez, Javier Pastore, and Javier Mascherano will help solidify a great striker force.
Let’s hope Tevez doesn’t act the head case part like he did at Manchester United and now Manchester City.
We will talk about Flamengo Universidad de Chile on Saturday.

Argentinos Juniors defeated mid table Huracan 2-1 to win their first league title in 25 years.
Juan Mercier scored in the 23rd minute to give Bichos Colorado the early 1-0 lead. Facundo Coria ripped a header in the 77th minute to seal the deal Argentinos Juniors.
This title is especially sweet for Bichos Colorado headman Claudio Borghi.
Borghi was teammate of Diego Maradona on Argentina’s 1986 World Cup winning side.
He also played on Argentinos Juniors 1986 title side.
Now Claudio Borghi has now come full circle. He has now won a title as a player and now as a coach for Bichos Colorado.
Way to go garoto.
Estudiantes whipped Colon 4-1.
Argentinos Juniors won the Clausura with 41 points. Estudiantes finished second with 40 points.
River Plate lost to Tigre 5-1.
Los Millonarios have had one of the worst records over the last two years now they face getting the heave-hoe from the top division.
River Plate needs to have a kick ass season in the Apertura if not is voce vai. Los Millonarios is one of only three clubs that has never been sent down.
Boca Juniors and Independiente are the two that have never been given the heave-hoe.
Boca Juniors had their lunch handed to them by Banfield 3-0.
Los Xeneizos finished the year in 16th place with 20 points. If Boca continues at this pace, they will face the heave-hoe zone shortly too.
It is really sad to see such two storied clubs Boca Juniors and River Plate stinking the joint out.
Yet at the same time I am kinda happy Boca get what is coming to them. For many years the refs have given Los Xeneizos all kinds of breaks even to the extent of giving them wins they should have never had.
This is sad but true.
What goes around comes around.

The race for the Clausura title is heating up. There is one week left in the season. For many years, Argentinos Juniors stunk the joint out but now they are top dog with 38 points.

Godoy Cruz is in third place with 34 points.
River Plate ripped the twines in a 3-0 win over Racing.
Los Millonarios are in 12th place with 22 points.
Boca Juniors lost to Huracan 2-1.
I bet the Los Xeneizos can’t wait until the Clausura is over.
Boca is currently in 15th place.
If Argentinos Juniors can beat Huracan on Sunday May 16th, the title is theirs.
If Bichos Colorados ties and Estudiantes losses the title is Argentinos Juniors, however if Estudiantes wins and Bichos Colorados losses or ties Los Pincharratas is the champ.
Oh yes, this is fun in the sun.
It all comes down to the last week of the season.
