Another one bit the dust Kenny Dalglish was given the heave-hoe by Liverpool. The Reds were a huge disappointment. They stunk the joint out big time. Liverpool finished in eight place. The Reds were seventeen points behind fourth place Tottenham.

Liverpool has been on a downhill slide since 2009 campaign. The Fenway Sports Group owns the Reds. No wonder Liverpool sucks.

 FSG said this “Fenway Sports Group (FSG) and Liverpool football club announced that Kenny Dalglish is to leave his post today as manager after having his contract terminated.

“After a careful and deliberative review of the season, the club came to the decision that a change was appropriate. It is not a decision that was reached lightly or hastily. The search for a new manager will begin immediately.”

River Plate is sitting in the catbird seat in Argentina’s Nacional B with 65 points. Rosario Central has 65 points também however Los Canallas is only a plus 18 compared with Los Millionaires plus 33. Instituto de Cordoba has being sitting atop the table since the season started but La Gloria has lost the last their last two of three to drop into third place.

The top two clubs will return to Argentina’s big boys league.

Saturday River Plate battles Guillermo Brown. Rosario Central has a hot date with Atletico Tucuman. Guillermo Brown is hanging out in 16^th place. Tucuman is in 12^th place.

Guillermo Brown was founded in 1945. La Banda Capo Del Sur has never played in the Argentina’s top league. Brown won the Torneo Argentina A: 2 in 2010-11.

Guillermo Brown was named after Irish born first admiral of the Argentina Navy in 19^th century.

The Copa Libertadores is near naming a champion. In quarterfinal action later today we’ll see Vasco and Corinthians tangle in a battle of Brasileiros futebol. This will be a rock em sock em futebol. First leg play is at Gigante de Colina’s house. The return leg will be at Timao’s house.

Libertad and Universidad de Chile will hock up in Asuncion. The return leg will be in Santiago, Chile.

Santos is the defending Copa champion. Peixe and Velez Sarsfield will have a duel in the sun on Thursday in Buenos Aires. Boca and Fluminense will play balls to wall at Los Xeneizes house Thursday também.

Boca Juniors has won the six titles with the last coming in 2007. Santos has won three titles. Vasco and Velez Sarsfield each have won one title.

Argentina has won 22 Copa’s. Brasil won 15. Uruguay eight and Chile one.

This competition began in 1960.

The United States beat Italy for the first time in eleven matches that covered a span of 78 years. This was the Italians first loss in Genoa. Clint Dempsey was the hero. His goal in the 55^th minute gave the USA a huge win over Italy. A great pass set up this sucker from mate Jozy Altidore. Altidore stood his ground at the top of box. He made a back pass to Dempsey. Dempsey stepped right and fired left. The Italian keeper Buffon never had a chance.

What stood out in this match was the way the guys played “D”. The guys made block after block. Bocanegra, Fabian Johnson, Jonathan Spector, and Michael Bradley clogged the middle. Sure there were a ton of offsides by the Italians but this was caused by good positioning of our guys. This frustrated the Italians.

Tim Howard came up big too.

Italy used many of their best players.

All in all this was a huge step in the right direction.

Lionel Messi had a hat trick to lead Argentina past Switzerland 3-1.

The dorks at ESPN are crowing about Messi’s performance. Hey guys Messi is great in crap like this but when he has to perform in real matches he sucks big time.

This is Messi’s MO. Great in meaningless matches but on the world stage Messi is scared shitless.

England lost to the Netherlands 3-2. Arjen Robben daily double led the Dutch attack.

The Netherlands was in complete control of this sucker. The score was closer than the match. 

England’s two goals came in garbage time. Gary Cahill in the 85^th minute and Ashley Young 90 minutes plus one.

Thank you Fabio Capello for screwing up the English national team.

He is gone but the stench lingers.

Spain killed Venezuela 4-0.

France beat Germany 2-1.    

So now lets put this win by the USA in perspective. This was huge but this was a friendly match. Sure the Italians wanted to win but this was not a real competition. Yes, we have made strides especially on the defensive end however we can’t let a side have sixty percent of the touches and control of the ball.

Progress has been made but we are still a long way off from competing with the top sides in the world.

River Plate is in a fight for their very lives. Los Millionaires sunk off the face of the earth last year.

The guys have won 33 league titles.

River Plate was sent packing to Nacional B de Argentina.

Right now Los Millionaires is sitting in second place with 34 points.

River Plate is tied on points with Rosario Central but Los Millionaires is a plus 17 compared with Los Canallas plus seven.

The top two clubs will get a get outta jail free card.

Instituto de Cordoba is top dog with 36.

Up next for River Plate is Chacarita on Saturday.

Los Funebreros is dead last with 14 points.

These cats have a cool nickname.

The name means the undertakers.

So far Los Funebreros is dead and buried in last place.

Los Canallas will take on Defensa y Justicia on Saturday também.

This match even has cooler nicknames.

The Scoundrels and the Hawks will duke it out.

Defensa y Justicia has only played one season with the big boys-2005-06.

Rosario Central has won four domestic titles. The Los Canallas were sent packing to Nacional b in 2009-10.

Central got their name the Scoundrels when they played a charity match for a leprosy clinic in the 1920’s.

Once again Argentinos started out playing like crap. Argentina fell behind early 1-0 when Colombia’s Dorlan Pabon ripped the twines in the 44^th minute.

That’s the way it stayed until Lionel Messi finally got off the schnid. He nailed an empty netter in the 60^th minute give Argentina the 1-0 lead.

Mate Jose Sosa fired a great cross into the box.

Colombia’s keeper David Ospima miss played the cross and this allowed Messi an open shot on goal.

Argentina salted this puppy away in the 84^th minute.

Messi fired a rocket to mate Gonzalo Higuain. Higuain ripped a shot that was kicked away by Ospima. Argentina’s Sergio Aquero tucked the rebound into the back of the net.

Game, set, and match to Argentina.

This was not a convincing win for one of the better clubs in the world.

Messi said this- “It was hard. We did not deserve to go one goal behind to the opponents, as they were not better than us.

“We wanted to forget about the tie against Bolivia [1-1 draw on Friday]. That was very hard for us and I think we did.

“Sometimes you can play better, and other times you have to fight harder. This game was one of those days.”

Higuain added- “We wanted to win. We were very low after the game on Friday and we promised to do better here.

“It was a great match, very difficult to play at a demanding venue, but we improved our performance in the second half and did it.

“Now, we have six months to try to find our best shape. The qualifiers are long and we made a good step today.”

Chile knocked out Paraguay 2-0.

Ecuador shut out Peru 2-0.

Venezuela edged Bolivia 2-1.

Now it’s off for six months and then back to the WC qualifying.

Uruguay sits atop the heap with seven points.

Argentina is second with seven points.

Uruguay is a plus six while Argentina is a plus three.

Venezuela is third with seven points but they are a zero plus minus.

Fourth place belongs to Ecuador with six points.

Chile sits in fifth place with six points

The Chileans are a minus three.

Colombia and Paraguay each have four points however the Colombians are a plus minus zero so they sit in sixth place.

Paraguay is a minus three and have seventh place all to themselves.

Peru is eight with three points.

Ecuador has a hot date with Peru.

Chile-Paraguay.

Venezuela- Bolivia.

Brasil shut out Egypt 2-0 in a friendly on Monday.

The guys played very well.

Jonas hit the daily double to lead Brasileiros to the win.

Coach Menezes rested most of the big stars.

He started Hulk, Jonas, and Cesar up front.

Diego was in net and Alves, Luiz, Silva on the back line.

Brasil seemed out of it until Hulk fired a long-range bomb on goal.

This woke the guys up.

Brasil is the host nation for the 2014 World Cup so they don’t have to go through the grind of qualifying.

Once again Argentina has a ton of talent and they are coming up short time in and time out.

Argentina and Bolivia tied one all.

Bolivia is at the butt end of the table.

This is a very disturbing trend for Argentinos.

Bolivia scored in the 55^th minute.

Marcelo Moreno ripped the twines to give them a 1-0 lead.

Argentine answered the call in the 59^th minute.

Ezequiel Lavezzi found the back of the net to level this sucker at one all.

That’s where we stayed.

Messi had some really good chances but he couldn’t covert.

Uruguay routed Chile 4-0.

Paraguay beat Ecuador 2-1.

Colombia and Venezuela tied one all.

Uruguay sits atop the table with seven points.

Argentina, Colombia, Paraguay, and Venezuela each have three points.

Argentinos has a plus two so they have the second spot

Colombia is third with a plus one

But lets remember the Colombian squad has a game in hand.

Fourth place is Paraguay with a minus one.

Venezuela has fifth place with a minus one.

Bolivia is dead last with a point.

Brasil battled Gabon in an international friendly.

Brasileiros are the 2014 host for the World Cup. Brasil’s already has their spot booked.

The samba boys were dominant from the out set.

Goals by Sandro 12^th minute, and Anderson Hernanes in the 35^th minute sealed the deal for Brasileiros.

UOL wrote this- Os brasileiros do segundo escalão da Europa não tiveram dificuldade no teste diante do Gabão e conquistaram uma fácil vitória por 2 a 0. A maior dificuldade do Brasil foi a estrutura do estádio de Libreville. O gramado que já era ruim virou um pasto com a chuva ocorrida antes da partida. E os jogadores ainda esfriaram um pouco porque dois apagões atrasaram o início da partida em 18 minutos e forçou o time a realizar um novo aquecimento em campo. O jogo valeu mais para Hernanes aparecer bem pela seleção.

Menezes started Hulk, Willian, Dudu, and many of his lesser know players. Neymar, Ronaldinho Gaucho and many of the top stars didn’t play.

This was an easy match for Brasil. It seems that the problems before have been solved.

Logo com dois minutos de partida, o primeiro ataque já demonstrou a ingenuidade da seleção local nas bolas aéreas em lance que só não rendeu o gol porque Jonas chutou para fora. Depois de uma leve pressão, a zaga gabonesa falhou feio e o Brasil abriu o placar aos 11 min.

Globo Esporte wrote- Não havia Kaká, Marcelo, Daniel Alves, Neymar, Ronaldinho… Tampouco o gramado apresentava condições de receber uma partida de uma seleção pentacampeã mundial, que ainda enfrentou um apagão de 18 minutos antes do apito inicial. This was another one of those nut cutting time matches for Brasil. Sure this sucker was only a friendly but a ton was riding on the outcome.

Brasil scored a 2-1 win over Mexico.

The Mexicans used their top guys while Brasil rested most of their premier players. Only Ronaldinho Gaucho and Neymar played.

Enter the second team that featured Hulk, Oliveira Jefferson in goal, Adriano, Luis Fernando.

An own goal in the 12^th minute by Luiz and a stupid red card given to chief idiot Dani Alves almost killed Brasileiros chances of winning.

These were two huge brain farts.

Mexico looked good.

The Mexicans shredded the Brasil defense however they could not put the ball into the back of the net against the second string.

This is not good.

Brasil showed heart.

The guys didn’t quit.

Goals by Ronaldinho Gaucho 79^th minute and Marcelo in the 83^rd minute sealed the deal for Brasil.

Menezes is not that good of a coach.

Brasil is missing their best playmaker in Kaka.

Kaka is regaining his form.

Yet, without his playmaking ability Brasileiros will struggle scoring.

The guys can’t finish.

This is a big problem.

Ronaldinho Gaucho is slowly regaining the form that made him one of the best players in the world.

This happened when he was sent back to Brasil in disgrace. Gaucho needed to learn how to stop being a star and learn how to be a teammate.

Flamengo and now Brasil are reaping these rewards.

Is Gaucho the answer?

In the short run yes not in the long run.

O desempenho de Marcelo também foi importante, já que o lateral deve ganhar mais espaço após passar período sem ter chances com o treinador

Venezuela defeated Argentina 1-0.

Messi and company stunk the joint out.

A goal by Fernando Amorebieta in the 61^st minute sealed the deal for Venezuela.

Chile doubled up Peru 4-2.

Columbia downed Bolivia 2-1.
