It sure looked like my guys from Arsenal were going to get blown out by the mighty Barcelona guys.

My heart was in my throat when David Villa blasted a close range bomb that found its mark in the 26^th minute.

Barca had it pedal to the medal.

We had several really good chances but Arsenal couldn’t crack the code.

Instead of quitting the guys took the game by the scruff of the net and pressed the attack.

The dividends paid off handsomely in the second half.

Robin Van Persie found a crease between the keeper’s left hand and the short post.

Whamo bamo the ball finds it destination in the 77^th minute.

The match winner came in the 83^rd minute.

Jack Wilshere set it up with a great pass to mate Cesc Fabregas. Then it was Katie bar the door.

We are off to the races.

Andrei Arshavin nailed it to give Gunner nation a huge 2-1 win over invincible Barcelona.

Game, set, and match to Arsenal.

This was a huge win for us.

Now the Gunners are in the drivers seat for the second leg.

Barca and Arsenal will play March 8^th at Camp Nou.

Tottenham picked a huge first leg away 1-0 win over AC Milan.

He unleashed a blast from 12 yards out to seal the deal for Harry me Boy Redknapp and his Spurs chargers.

The big boys all won on this very cold day in the states. Some places are as hot as minus one. That’s a heat wave folks. You gotta love it. Not!

My guys from Arsenal fell behind 1-0 on a clearly offside goal by Louis Saha in the 24^th minute.

There was no quit in this dog as my Gunners scored the next two goals to win this sucker 2-1 at our house Emirates.

Andrei Arshavin point blank shot dead center of the box in the 70^th tied this puppy up at one all.

The match winner came in the 77^th minute. Robin Van Persie fired a great skip pass through the goal crease to Laurent Koscielny. Koscielny nailed a tight range header between the keeper Tim Howard and the left post.

Game, set, and match to Arsenal.

This “W” was huge for Gunner nation.

Man U blasted Aston Villa 3-1.

The Wayne man hit the daily double for Sir Alex and the guys.

Rooney’s first of the season.

Nemanja Vidic scored too.

This win kept the Red Devils a top the leader board with 54 points.

My Gunners are in the two spot with 49 points.

Chelsea destroyed Sunderland 4-2.

John Terry, Frank Lampard, Salomon Kalou, and Nicolas Anelka ripped the twines for the Blues guys.

Chelsea stays in touch with the leader board in third place with 44 points.

The headline match of the weekend is Manchester City and Arsenal. These two sides are locked in a battle for the top three spots in the EPL.

City is coming off a huge win last weekend over Blackpool while my guys from Arsenal are coming off a hard fought win over Birmingham.

This is a must win for us if the Gunners are to keep in touch with top dog Chelsea.

Chelsea has 19 points while we have 14 points.

If we lose and Chelsea wins this will drop us seven points off the pace.

Chelsea should win against Wolverhampton on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are almost unbeatable in their house.

Another walk in the park for Chelsea.

City has 17 points.             

Man City is playing great futebol.

City beat Chelsea already this year at their house City of Manchester Stadium.

Our road struggles are well documented.

The guys from Gunner land have one win, two ties, and a draw on the road this season.

We have scored four goals on the road and have given up five.

Tevez maybe unhappy at City but his performance on the pitch doesn’t reflect his unhappiness,

He is kicking ass and taking names.

Tevez is the top twine ripper with seven.

He is on fire.

We have to smoother him.

“D” is the key.

Cesc Fabregas is another key.

His return will help bolster the Gunners attack.

Fabregas is the QB.

He is like a Peyton Manning.

Fabregas pinpoint passes and easy flowing style will create lots of scoring opportunities for Arshavin, Marouane Chamakh, and Samir Nasri.

Manchester United is in a must win situation as well.

The Red Devils need to beat Stoke City on Sunday at the Potters house.

Man U hasn’t lost a match all season but the mighty boys from Old Trafford have let four leads slip from their grasp and allow sure wins to turn into draws.

This is not good.

Stoke City is currently in 9^th place with 10 points.

My guys from Arsenal almost took it on the chin at home against Birmingham. Yes, the Gunners pulled out a hard fought come from behind 2-1 over the Blues at Emirates.

An almost great goal in the first half by the Gunners Andrei Arshavin was ruled offsides in the 19^th minute.

The Gunners “D” stunk the joint out in the 33^rd minute. Nikola Zigic nailed a perfect shot that beat the helpless keeper Fabianski to give Birmingham a 1-0 lead.

Then a controversial penalty in the 41^st minute leveled this sucker up at one all.

Samir Nasri hit the PK.

Marouane Chamakh nailed the match winner just the other side of half time (47^th minute) to lift the Gunners to the win.

Jack Wilshere won the dumbest futebol player award when he was given the heave-hoe in the 90^th minute.

This stupidity could have cost Arsenal big time.

Thank God for small favors.

This was a huge win.

This stops our home losing streak at one.

Gunners lost at home two weeks ago when West Brom took it to us 3-2.

This fiasco happened on September 25^th.

This win moves Arsenal into second place.

Man U blew a two-goal lead at home and wound up with two all tie against West Brom.

This is the second time the Baggies have sent the home side home unhappy.

First at Arsenal now at Old Trafford.

Albion is now in 6^th place with 12 points.

The Red Devils are in third place and can slip to fourth place if Man City beats Blackpool on Sunday.

 Chelsea struggles on the road continue. The Blues and Aston Villa tied nil-nil at Villa Park.

Chelsea had their to chance win it in the final moments when Nicholas Anelka just missed the winner. The shot went clank off the crossbar in the 89^th minute.

This may cost the Blues the title.

Man U is stinking the joint out.

Arsenal almost did but we pulled out the win.

We are missing our playmaker Cesc Fabregas.

Rumor has it Fabregas wants outta here.

We will see.

Oh Yeah, Tottenham defeated Fulham 2-1.

Spurs Tom Huddlestone hit the match winner in the 63^rd minute.

Hold on to your horse. Wait a minute; the ref Dean allowed the goal after an assistant ruled Tottenham’s William Gallas was offside.

The entire joint went bananas.

The EPL is alive and well with a ton of crazy stuff that continues to happen.

Arsenal picked up a huge road win in the Champions League Group stage.

My Gunners took it to Partizan Belgrade.

We won 3-1.

Andrei Arshavin opened up the scoring for the Gunners in the 15^th minute.

Low and behold, we gave it right back to them in the 33^rd minute.

Dummy Denilson used his arm to knock down the ball in the box.

Cleo nailed the PK in the level this baby at one all.

Arshavin had a chance to give the Gunners a 2-1 lead but choke city.

Marouane Chamakh put the ball into the back of the net in the 71^st minute.

This gave us a 2-1 lead.

Sebastien Squillaci header found the mark in the 82^nd minute.

Cleo had a chance to cut the lead but keeper Fabianski made a fly save to em dead in their tracks.

Game, set, and match to Arsenal.

Fabianski had a good game, we have seen the player tonight who we see in training. He had a faultless game. I know it is in him. He got it out in the game tonight and hopefully that will give him the needed belief and confidence. I am confident he will come out as a great keeper, I have always said that. We have to keep confidence in him and he needs to gain experience from games like this. At the moment Almunia is injured, we will have to see how his injury goes but at the moment it is too early to say.

Wenger was worried about the guys bouncing back after a hard defeat at home agianst West Brom- For us it was important to win straight away after a big disappointment against West Brom. It puts us in a good position confidence wise. Sunday is a big, big game for us. I believe we will go there with a desire to do extremely well.

This win should get us ready for Chelsea this Sunday at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea took care of business at Home-Stamford Bridge.

The Blues shut out Marseille 2-0.

Today this Gunner is happy and so is the entire Gunner nation.

My guys from Arsenal took Braga to the woodshed. The Gunners skunked em 6-0.

The rout was on.

This sucker was over from the opening bell.

Cesc Fabregas nailed a PK in the 9^th minute.

Fabregas created the PK when he slipped a beautiful pass to mate Chamakh sidestepped the Braga keeper.

Wham bam.

Chamakh was tackled.

The result.

Our first goal

Marouane Chamakh was rewarded in the 34^th minute.

He nailed a perfect strike.

Andrei Arshavin ripped a winner in the 30^th minute.

Fabregas added his second goal in the 53^rd minute.

Carlos Vela hit for the daily double too. He found the back of the net in 69^th and 83^rd minutes.

This was a huge win in our house Emirates.

We’re off to as good start in the Champions League Group.

Finally, the young dudes are playing as a cohesive unit.

Fabregas, Arshavin, Vela, Wilshere, and Nasri are comfortable on the pitch together.

Add Chamakh and we’re gonna be dangerous as the season progress.

Chelsea took care of business on the road whipping MSK Zilina 4-1.

Nicholas Anelka led the way with the daily double.

Michael Essian and Daniel Sturridge ripped the twines too.

All in all, it was a good start for the EPL.

Two wins and two ties.

Now it’s back to EPL play this weekend.

A few quick observations about the EPL as we head into a two week break.

Chelsea has not given up a goal in three matches.

The Blues are top dogs but they haven’t played anyone yet.

Chelsea has beaten up on the weak sisters of the EPL Wigan, Stoke City, and West Brom.

Two out of three sides are one step above stink.

Stoke City stinks down right bad.

My guys from Arsenal should have lost to Liverpool the opening weekend but we pulled out a great tie.

We picked up an all-important road win.

The big surprise is the way Theo Walcott is ripping the twines.

Walcott has scored big time (four goals) in three matches.

This is huge for the Gunner nation.

Andrei Arshavin has scored twice.

With RVP hurt, this means the young cats are stepping up to the plate big time.

Lets see how this plays out through the rest of the season.

Manchester United is loaded with talent and team speed.

The Red Devils are greased lightening.

The only stumble so far is a tie against Fulham.

The Cottagers have a habit of driving Sir Alex and the boy’s nuts.

The second week draw proves my point.

Fulham came back twice to tie this sucker up.

The big surprise is Dimitar Berbatov has two goals.

If he can continue to score, Man U will be unreal.

Tottenham losing to lowly Wigan was a shocker.

Spurs are in above their heads.

Tottenham will finish mid table.

Man City is team full of head cases.

City has great talent but ten-cent brains.

Mancini will struggle to find continuity with Man City.

City will finish just outside the money.

Villa looks strong.

Aston Villa will finish in the top six.

Liverpool is on the downhill slide.

The Reds will in the lower half of the table.

Newcastle will stay up n the EPL.

The Magpies have a chip on their shoulders.

Toons have a point to prove.

Newcastle might challenge for a Europa spot.

My guys from Arsenal won on the road.

This was a huge 2-1 win over the pesky Blackburn Rovers.

We did good but there were several mix-ups and sloppy “D” that could have cost us the big “W”.

Theo Walcott ripped the twines in the 20^th minute to give us Gunners a 1-0 lead.

This baby was the direct result of a great counter attack.

Robin Van Persie took the ball and drove the left sideline.

Persie set up mate Walcott with a beautiful pass. All Theo Walcott had to do was deposit the ball into the back of the net.

Walcott’s rocket literally ripped the twines off the left side of net near the left post.

This was truly a rocket.

Blackburn nailed the equalizer in the 27^th minute.

Rovers Hadji Diouf made the Gunners defender Laurent Koscielny look like a schoolgirl.

Wham. Bam. Diouf hands Koscielny his jock.

Hadji hits mate Mame Diouf who jams the ball into the back of the net.

I thought here we go again.

Get a crap tie on the road.

But no! My Gunners picked themselves up by the bootstraps and scored the winner in the 51^st minute.

Andrei Arshavin nailed the rebound off a miss by mate Cesc Fabregas to give us the all-important road win.

The bad news is this.

Our top player Robin Van Persie left the match in the 35^th minute with an ankle injury.

Headman Arsene Wenger thinks RVP will miss about ten days.

This was a huge road win for the Gunner Nation.

The biggest surprise of the day was when lowly Wigan pulled the upset city match of the day by beating Tottenham 1-0 at Spurs house-White Hart Lane.

What did I tell ya!

Spurs are in above their heads.

Tottenham didn’t play worth a crap.

Spurs key scorer Jermain Defoe is playing with an injured groin.

Peter Crouch isn’t worth a damn.

Sure, Tottenham had most of the possession but the name of the game is to put the ball into the back of the net.

Maybe Spurs should take lessons from my guys in Brasil Flamengo who couldn’t find an acorn with a GPS system.

Welcome to the real big leagues Tottenham.

This is a different animal.

Other than that business as usual in the EPL, Chelsea beat up little sisters of the poor Stoke City 2-0.

Blackpool and Fulham tied two all.

Newcastle and Wolves kissed their sister one all.

Manchester United blasted West Ham 3-0 on Saturday. We’ll talk about that more on Monday.
