Timao defeated Atletico-MG 1-0.

Ceara lost to Internacional 2-1.

The loss dropped Vovo to third place.

Fluminense got by Santos 1-0.

The win vaulted Flu to second place in the table.

Corinthians has 21 bad boys.

Po-de-arroz has 19 points.

Ceara has 18 points.

Flamengo moved up one spot to fourth place with 15 points.

The race is on.

Sao Paulo has almost dropped outta sight.

Tricolor is buried in 13^th place.

Vasco is still in the danger zone.

Gigante de Colina is in 17^th place with nine points.

It is still very early in the season to ring up the white flag however; nine matches into the season there are some trends.

Timao started out very strong last year but by the end of the 2009 season Corinthians wound up in tenth place.

This year will be different for Timao.

Corinthians is strong this year.

Timao has more pieces in place and this will make them very dangerous.

All one has to do is look at the results.

Six wins, three draws, and zero losses.

Flamengo seems to have found a diamond in the rough with keeper Marcelo Lomba. Lomba has been playing lights since the murder Bruno was sent to prison.

The loss of Bruno, the drug addict Adriano, and Love may have motivated Petkovic and the rest to show us how good they can be.

Mengao has controlled the two last to matches.

Flamengo is now dictating the tempo and flow of the match thus forcing opponents to play our style of play.

This is upbeat and attacking.

Rubro-Negro needs another striker.

Other than Mengao is on the right path.

On Wednesday, Flamengo battles third place Avai.

This should be a battle royal.

Flamengo is at home Maracanã.

I have to admit I was very surprised that Mengao pulled out a huge 1-0 win over Botafogo at Maracanã.

This sucker was huge.

Paulo Sergio nailed the match winner in the 69^th minute.

A wicked penetration into the box by Petkovic set this puppy up. He made a sweet pass to mate Vinicius Pacheco. Pacheco dished the cheeky pass off to Sergio. Sergio deposited the ball into the naked net.

Game, set, and match to Rubro-Negro.

This gave us 12 points.

Flamengo moved up into a tie with Cruzeiro fro fifth place.

Corinthians and Ceara tied nil-nil.

We are only six points outta first place.

This was a huge win.

Botafogo-Flamengo is a huge clássico in Rio de Janeiro.

Overall, Mengao played well without Adriano, Love, and Bruno.

Bruno’s replacement Marcelo Lomba did very well in goal. He made several acrobatic saves. Lomba also saved Mengao’s bacon at three times.

I will give him a B plus for effort.

President Patricia Amorim said this was good news for the Flamenguista nation. This win brought us some joy.

A vitória devolve um pouco da alegria perdida na Gávea após a prisão do goleiro Bruno. Nos dias que antecederam o jogo, tanto Patrícia quanto o diretor-executivo Zico ressaltaram a necessidade de vitória para desviar o noticiário das páginas policiais. Foram atendidos.

In reality, the win took the attention off of the murder Bruno who is now in jail awaiting trial.

Youngster Diego Mauricio and Vinicius Pacheco took a while before the duo began to click but once they did this will give Flamengo a good strike force. Throw into the mix Petkovic and Mengao could do some damage.

O time desmantelado e o ataque jovem pesaram para as dificuldades do Flamengo nos minutos iniciais. Mas aos poucos o nervosismo passou. Diego Maurício caprichou no visual, colocou tranças dread e conseguiu acertar a primeira jogada aos 19. A dupla fez outra boa jogada aos 22 e Vinícius, desta vez como pé esquerdo, chutou forte. Jefferson espalmou para escanteio. O Botafogo recorreu aos contra-ataques. Marcelo Cordeiro fez ótimo lançamento aos 27, Juan cochilou e Alessandro entrou livre na área. O lateral do Flamengo se recuperou e conseguiu atrapalhar o chute.

Por causa de toda a situação que precedeu a partida, o Rubro-Negro, surpreendentemente, dominou boa parte do primeiro tempo. Aos 34, Kleberson cruzou rasteiro e Petkovic chutou rente ao ângulo esquerdo.

Sao Paulo got the butts handed to them by Avai 2-1.

Avai scored the first two goals of the match before Tricolor added a cosmetic goal midway through the second half.

All and all I am a very happy camper.

Mengao travels to Atletico-MG on Sunday July 18^th at Goiania.

Flamengo has had tons of trouble on the road. For that matter at home Mengao stinks the joint out too.

Maybe this trend will change.

We have some huge matches that place on Wednesday. Corinthians and Ceara each had 17 points.

These two sides will meet at Vovo house in Rei Pele.

Sao Paulo is taking on mid table Avai in Mouribi.

Tricolor cannot afford to lose this sucker.

If Sao Paulo loses and either Timao or Vovo win this will drop Tricolor further off the pace.

We are only seven matches into the season. There is lots of futebol to be played but eight out of ten times that side that gets off to a hot start will usually win the Campeonato.

Last year was the exception when Mengao came roaring back after a horrible start.

I don’t think this is going to happen this year.

Flamengo is missing the drug addict and drunk Adriano, the murder Bruno, and Vagner Love.

This year we may wind up at the bottom of the heap.

Lets see what happens after Rubro-Negro’s match against Botafogo on Wednesday.

I am sure hoping we play better than our last outing against Goias on June 6^th, which Mengao lost 2-1.

The funny thing is this Flamengo, Fogao, Palmeiras, and Cruzeiro each has nine points.

Now it’s back to my favorite team Flamengo. I am total Flamenguista.

Flamengo has been playing crap before for the World Cup break on June 10^th.

Rubro-negro lost to Goias 2-1 at Maracanã.

This marked the last match Vagner Love played for Flamengo.

There is some really good news for us Flamenguistas. Ronaldinho Gaucho has reportedly has a verbal agreement to play for Flamengo.

This is almost a done deal according to several sources-ESPN and Globo Esporte.

President Patricia Amorim said it is almost a done deal.

Globo Esporte put it this way- A notícia divulgada pelo “Gazzetta dello Sport” de que o Milan estaria disposto a liberar Ronaldinho Gaúcho antes do fim de seu contrato deixou a presidente Patrícia Amorim animada. Ela disse, no início da noite desta terça-feira, na Gávea, que se esta situação for resolvida, são boas e reais as chances de o apoiador ser contratado pelo Flamengo. Apesar de dizer que não existe nada muito adiantado, a dirigente confirmou que já deu início a um projeto de marketing para bancar os salários do jogador.

Fluminense is third with 15 points.

Flu in third place is the big surprise so far in the Campeonato.

Sao Paulo sits in 6th place with 11 points.

On the verge of leading Brasil into their quarterfinal match against the Netherlands, former Dutch star Johann Cruyff said he wouldn’t pay to see Brasil play.

He said Dunga has led Brasil into the shits.

These next two matches are of extreme importance to Rubro-Negro.

Mengao needs wins not draws or losses.

With Love on the way out in July, Flamengo needs the Love man to score a plethora of goals.

Mengao needs it now not a month from now.

Corinthians has 13 points.

This is a six point differential.

Sure, we made up 13 points in a little more than a month but this year is different.

First Andrade was the headman. Second Adriano was playing top flight futebol now he’s gone. Third, Patricia Amorim is the new Prez. She fired Andrade. Both Love and Adriano are gone.  Finally, Rubro-Negro has no firepower.

It could be a long season.

Now the idiot in chief Rogerio Lourenço has a new director of  player personal for Mengao. It is former Flamengo star Zico.

Little good this will do. We need players not some lackey who is going to kiss Patricia’s butt and do nothing.

Both Zico and Lourenço were Flamengo teammates.

Corinthians finds themselves the front-runners again. Timao was in the pole position this same time last year.

Corinthians wound up in tenth place.

Corinthians took to Santos 4-2.

Ceara is in second place with 11 points.

Third place belongs to Fluminense. Po-de-arroz took it Atletico-MG 3-1.

Sao Paulo has made it to the semi-finals.

Last year Tricolor was dumped in the quarterfinals and this resulted in Ramalho getting the axe.

Mengao has no excuse.

Amorim has lost two key players Adriano and Vagner Love. She let Andrade go too.

All Andrade did was led Rubro-Negro their sixth Campeonato.

No wonder we are in deep crap.

The season is young so we will see what happens.

Mengao again wasted a great opportunity to pick up a huge win at Maracanã against Gremio but in the end Flamengo ended up with a one all tie.

This is not good.

This gives Rubro-Negro one win, one loss, and three ties.

Mengao can not win at home nor on the road.

This stinks.

Mengao is in deep do-do.

Petkovic scored for Mengao in the 43^rd minute to give us a 1-nil lead.

Gremio scored in the 83^rd minute to level this sucker at one all

Rodrigo nailed the perfect shot to give Gremio a huge one point.

If Flamengo continues to play this way, we will surely wind up in the second division.

Vagner Love will go after July 10^th.

This will leave Flamengo no fire power what so ever.

Both Patricia Amorim and headman Rogerio Lourenço need to go.

These two clowns are the architects of this disaster that is about be heaped upon Mengao.

We wasted too many opportunities. This came back to bite Mengao in the butt.

Finally, Flamengo Prez Patricia Amorim gets it right. The dumbo finally decided to do the right thing and sign midfielder Petkovic to a deal that will keep him with Mengao until December 2011.

 Globo Esporte put it this way-Radiante de alegria, Petkovic concedeu entrevista coletiva nesta sexta-feira e confirmou a renovação de contrato até dezembro de 2011. Distribuindo alfinetadas pela maneira com que foi tratado na Gávea nos primeiros meses deste ano, o jogador afirmou que pretende voltar a usar a camisa 10, já que Adriano foi embora, e encerrar a carreira pelo Flamengo.

We lost our last outing against Fluminense 2-1 at Rubro-Negro’s house on Wednesday.

Fluminense killed us.

We are four games into the 2010 Campeonato de Brasil and Corinthians is top dog with 10 points. Santos and Cruzeiro are tied for second with eight points.

Mengao is in eleventh place with five points.

Sao Paulo is seventh place with seven points.

At this point last year Flamengo was playing like crap. Rubro-Negro was near the bottom of the table but this year is totally different.

The idiot Prez Patricia Amorim took over the reigns in December 2009 and we have lost two of our top players and  she fired headman Andrade who led us to the title last year.

UOL reported that leave will Flamengo in July-O atacante Vagner Love deve deixar o Flamengo ao fim de seu contrato de empréstimo firmado com o CSKA de Moscou, em julho. Seu destino no segundo semestre, porém, pode ser o futebol ucraniano, uma vez que o time russo estaria interessado em trocá-lo pelo centroavante Guilherme, ex-Cruzeiro.

It looks Vagner Love is headed back to Russia.

 UOL further added-O atacante pertence ao Dínamo de Kiev e atua sob empréstimo na equipe moscovita. Por seu bom desempenho, a diretoria do CSKA estaria interessada em mantê-lo em seu elenco, enviando Love aos ucranianos como forma de compensação. A informação havia sido antecipada pelo blogueiro.
