Manchester United sat back and did nothing for most of their Champions League match against Spanish side Valencia.

The Spanish side had most of the possessions.

Valencia out shot Man U 10 to 8 but the Red Devils scored the only marker of the match in the 85^th minute.

Mexican newcomer Javier Hernandez drilled a perfect strike into the far left corner of the net.

Game, set, and match to Man U.

The good news for Sir Alex and the boys the rock and captain of the “D” Rio Ferdinand is back.

This is huge if the Red Devils want to win the EPL.

This was the mighty boys from Old Trafford first win in Spain since a 2002 victory over Deportivo La Coruna.

Spurs took care of business at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham destroyed Twente Enschede 4-1.

Spurs jumped to a 2-nil lead.

Tottenham’s Rafael Van der Vaart almost gave away the two goal when he was 86 in the 61^st minute.

Vaart did his best to drive Harry me boy nuts. Rafael Van der Vaart missed a PK in the 41^st minute but made up for it in the 46^th minute. He nailed the PK to give Spurs a 2-0 lead.

This was a big win for Spurs.

Arsenal picked up a huge road win in the Champions League Group stage.

My Gunners took it to Partizan Belgrade.

We won 3-1.

Andrei Arshavin opened up the scoring for the Gunners in the 15^th minute.

Low and behold, we gave it right back to them in the 33^rd minute.

Dummy Denilson used his arm to knock down the ball in the box.

Cleo nailed the PK in the level this baby at one all.

Arshavin had a chance to give the Gunners a 2-1 lead but choke city.

Marouane Chamakh put the ball into the back of the net in the 71^st minute.

This gave us a 2-1 lead.

Sebastien Squillaci header found the mark in the 82^nd minute.

Cleo had a chance to cut the lead but keeper Fabianski made a fly save to em dead in their tracks.

Game, set, and match to Arsenal.

Wenger was worried about the guys bouncing back after a hard defeat at home agianst West Brom- For us it was important to win straight away after a big disappointment against West Brom. It puts us in a good position confidence wise. Sunday is a big, big game for us. I believe we will go there with a desire to do extremely well.

This win should get us ready for Chelsea this Sunday at Stamford Bridge.

Flamengo is in a total mess. Mengao had their jocks handed to them by Palmeiras on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro.

Verdao destroyed Rubro-Negro 3-1 in Mengao’s house-although be it, it wasn’t Maracanã but Estadio Joao Havelange Engenhão.

This was the first home loss for Flamengo.  

Globo Esporte-Flamengo perdeu a invencibilidade no Engenhão. Desde a inauguração em 2007, o time carioca tinha feito nove jogos no estádio, com sete vitórias e dois empates. After the stupid foul, that result in the PK Verdao seized the match by throat and choked the life outta Flamengo.

Mengao is now in 16^th place with 28 points.

We’re one step above the drop-dead zone.

Thank God that Atletico-MG lost to Gremio 2-1.

Avai moved ahead of us due to a 5-0 thrashing of Ceara.

Up next for Flamengo is Goias on Tuesday at Verdao’s house-Serra Dourada.

Manchester United’s road woes continue.

Man U cannot win on the road.

If this trend continues, the Red Devils will not win the title.

The Wanderers drew first blood in the 9^th minute.

Zat Knight ripped the twines to give the Trotters a 1-0 lead.

Nani found the answer in the 23^rd minute this baby at one all.

Bolton regained the lead in the 67^th minute.

Enter Michael Owen to save the day.

Owen’s goal in the 74^th minute saved the day for Man U.

Manchester United is a club in deep trouble.

The Red Devils have given up nine goals in six matches.

This is not good.

Rio Ferdinand didn’t play.

Without the captain of the “D Man U is mess defensively.

The Red Devils had a chance to cut the gap between them and first place Chelsea not on this day.

Chelsea is still top dog with 15 points.

Man U is second with 12 and my Gunners are in third with 11 points.

Man City has eleven points but Arsenal has a better goal difference.

Gunners are a plus nine.

I am mad as hell right now. My Guys from Arsenal stunk the joint at home-Emirates. The Gunners had their jocks handed to them by lowly West Brom 3-2.

This stinks big time.

The entire squad should be shot at dusk and then hung the next morning for good measure.

This was Arsenal’s first home loss since Man U beat us January 2010.

This was a pure horrible offensive display of futebol by my Gunners.

West Brom should have taken the lead in the 37^th minute when keeper Almunia was forced to tackle Obemwingie.

Almunia stone cold stopped the PK.

Way to go garoto.

Then all hell broke loose in the second half.

Albion scored two goals in two minutes.

Obemwingie ripped the twines in the 50^th minute.

Two minutes (52^nd minute) later Gonzalo Jara broke free in the box. Jara ripped the shot. Bing, bam, boom the ball goes right through Almunia’s hands and into the box of net.

Jerome Thomas scored the clincher in the 73^rd minute.

Samir Nasri added two late cosmetic goals in he 75^th and 90^th minutes to make it a respectable 3-2 final score.

Arsenal had a chance to cut Chelsea’s lead to one point but no another wasted opportunity.

Chelsea was handed their first loss of the season.

City beat the Blues 1-0 at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Tevez showed why he is one of the best players in the world.

The Carlos man took off down the pitch on a wicked counter attack.

Dribble left go right. Tevez beat the defender and the naked keeper Petr Cech in the 59^th minute.

The low shot caromed off the left post and curled into the back of the net.

The difference in the match was City’s smothering defense.

Man City shut down the high scoring Chelsea machine.

This was a huge win for City.

West Ham beat Tottenham 1-0.

The road woes for Spurs continues.

The Hammers are currently in 18^th place with four points.

This was West Ham’s first win of the season.

Saturday’s headline match is Man City and Chelsea.

This should be a barnburner.

The Blues have waltzed through four crappy squads now they take on a very good City team at City of Manchester Stadium.

This is the first real test for Chelsea this year.

City on the other hand battled Spurs and Liverpool. City killed the Reds but tied Tottenham nil-nil at White Hart Lane.

Both City and Chelsea need to come out breathing fire.

Let’s see if the Blues are for real.

Tottenham has struggled on the road this year.

Spurs have one win and a draw on the road.

Tottenham will be missing striker Jermain Defoe.

This will hurt big time.

Manchester United battles Bolton on the road at Reebok.

Man U stinks big time on the road.

The Red Devils have twice given up two goal leads on the road that have cost them dearly.

Two ties are not good.

A tie against the Wanderers may stick a fork in Man U’s chances of winning the title.

Mengao snatched a tie from the jaws of defeat. Petkovic scored in the 86^th minute to save Flamengo’s bacon.

Rubro-Negro and Gremio tied at two all.

This was one of those back and forth affairs.

Douglas opened the scoring for Gremio. He beat the entire Mengao “D” to the box. Douglas junked right and went left. He flat out beat the keeper Marcelo Lomba in the 9^th minute.

Flamengo scored the equalizer in the 33^rd minute. Leo Moura did a Dipsy do past the helpless Gremio defender. Moura fired a great pass into the box. Kleberson nailed the one timer past the keeper to level this baby at one all.

Jonas bounced a tickler of a shot off the left post in the 50^th minute to give Gremio lead.

The entire Mengao “D’ was in shocked stunned silence.

Enter Petkovic in the 86^th minute to nail the equalizer and save our hides once again.

Mengao is now in 14^th place with 28 points.

This marks the second match in a row that we have scored more than one goal.

The offense is coming around but the “D” sucks big time.

Mengao has now scored five goals in two matches. This more than triples all the goals Rubro-Negro scored in the previous six matches.

More matches will played on Thursday so lets see how the dust settles before we Flamenguistas get too giddy.

Vitoria is taking on Avail and Fluminense has a hot date with Atletico-MG.

Vitoria has 28 points entering into Thursday’s contest. Avai has 25.

Atletico-MG has 21 points.

Mengao has a razor thin margin above the heave-hoe zone.

The defending Carling Cup champs Man U started real slow before pulling away for a 5-2 win over Scunthorpe.

Scunthorpe drew first blood.

The Red Devils ran off the next five goals to pull away for the win.

Michael Owen led the hit parade by hitting for the daily double.

Darren Gibson, Chris Smelling, and Park Ji-Sung tickled the twines too.

Manchester United made eleven changes to the side that started in the 3-2-win Liverpool last Sunday.

Newcastle upset Chelsea in the third round of the Carling cup.

Toons beat em 4-3.

Sure, the Blues rested most of their first team but several key players played-John Terry, Nicolas Anelka, Solomon Kalou, and Yossi Benayoun.

Chelsea saw Solomon Kalou and Yossi Benayoun succumb to the injury bug.

Kalou was carted off on a stretcher.

Ouch, this baby hurts big time.

West Brom defeated Manchester City 2-1.

In defense of City and Chelsea, both sides face each other this Saturday.

Smart move guys.

Liverpool and Northampton Town tied at two all after 120 minutes.

League Two side Northampton Town beat the Reds 4-2 in a PK shootout.

Liverpool is in big trouble.

This could be a long and hard season for the Reds.

Arsenal and Tottenham’s second teams battled each other.

My guys from Arsenal needed extra time to beat the Spurs 4-1 in the third round of the Carling Cup.

Samir Nasri scored on two PK’s in extra time to seal the deal for the Gunners.

We took the lead in the 15^th minute.

Henri Lansbury nailed a close range volley to give us the lead.

Spurs got the equalizer in the 49^th minute.

Robbie Keane made keeper Lukasz Fabianski look like a fool.

Robbie Keane was one on one with Fabianski. Keane fired a laugher of a shot that hit Fabianski in the worst possible place the hands.

Low and behold, the kiddy shot goes right through Fabianski’s paws.

Why does this always happen to us.

Why do both our keepers play sometimes like Abbott and Costello or Laurel and Hardy?

This was bad but we didn’t get down and pulled out a win at Tottenham’s house-White Hart Lane.

This was a good win for Arsenal.

The young dudes played very well.

Arsenal is on to the fourth round.

The game was enjoyable. We played well in the first half but we were only one goal in front and after that Tottenham came back. We were for a few minutes a little bit in danger but slowly we took over again and in the final 20 minutes it looked that would could score, but we didn’t. Then we got these two penalties which in my opinion were penalties and that was the turning point of the game. But overall we played very well

Wenger also heaped praise on a major disappointing Jack Wilshere- He was outstanding. I am a bit cautious with him because you do not want to get too quickly too early all the praise. In the first half I think he has shown a little bit of everything you want from a football player. He got some stick and he could take it, he didn’t respond. He played, tackled, won the ball and tactically his position on the pitch was always good. He had an outstanding first half. He is fearless.

I know this is the Carling Cup but these competitions give Wenger a chance to look at players who would not get much playing time. This gives management a chance to see how these players perform in nut cutting time.

The one thing you can’t simulate in practice-real match conditions to see how the players really react.

All in a good show for Arsenal subs.

Let’s see how this will translate when folks like Wilshere, Denilson, Henri Lansbury and the rest when called upon to perform in EPL matches.

The jury is still out.

The signs are good.

There were huge surprises in Carling Cup action from Tuesday.

Everton lost to Brentford 4-3 in a PK shootout.

Brentford is playing in English League One.

The Bees are near the heave-hoe zone.

This baby is huge.

The Toffees are hurting big time.

Burnley was demoted to the English League Championship.

Finally, the Mengao offense showed up but our “D” let us down.

This was a goal fest for Rubro-Negro.

Both Flu and Mengao traded leads back and forth.

Leandro opened up the scoring for Flu in the 9^th minute.

Mengao responded by scoring the next two goals to take a 2-1 lead.

Deivid and David ripped the twines in the 22^nd and 39^th minutes.

Flu tied this sucker up in the 64^th minute.

Rodriguinho nailed a perfect blast to level the match at two all.

Rubro Negro took the lead in the 65^th minute.

Renato nailed a shot to give us a 3-2 lead.

Mengao couldn’t hold the lead.

Flu scored in the 72^nd minute.

Rodriguinho did it to us again.

This is just our luck.

Thank God, we held on for the tie.

A loss would have killed Flamengo.

A tie is okay but I would rather have the three points.

Mengao is now in 15^th place with 27 points.

Flamengo is two spots outta the drop zone.

Atletico-MG is in 17^th place with 21 points.
