De Futebol
The Dutch are going for their first World Cup title. The Netherlands have always had great talent but when it came to world cup play they have flamed out big time.
Lots of talent but nothing to show for it.
Uruguay on the other had great early success in World Cup winning the first World Cup played in 1930.
The Uruguayans won the title again in 1950.
This is the first time Uruguay has made to the semifinals since 1970.
The Dutch on the other hand have been bride’s maids in 1974 and 1978.
In 1998, the Netherlands made it to the semifinals. They finished fourth.
Will 2010 be the year the Dutch get the monkey off their back.
Uruguay is ranked that high but they can give the Dutch a ton of trouble.
What will hurt Uruguay is their top scorer Suarez is miss the match due to a red card in the quarterfinal match against Ghana.
His red card saved Uruguay’s bacon.
Suarez was quick thinking on his feet to use his hand to swat the goal away.
Germany takes on Spain in the other semifinal match.
The Germans have been kicking ass and taking names.
Germany spanked both England’s and Argentina’s butts.
Will Spain be number three?
This is the first time the Spanish have advanced to the semifinals since 1950.
Spain has been playing okay.
Cesc Fabregas, Fernando Torres, Xavi Hernandez, and David Silva are the big names on the Spanish squad.
With they finally break through and win the whole enchilada?
I love it when two teams have a shot at winning their first World Cup title.
Add Uruguay and Germany to the mix and the semis should be great.
I am sad Brasil didn’t make it.
I am happy Argentina had their heads handed to them.
Fire Maradona.
He is not a coach.
Bring in someone who knows how to coach.
As for Brasil, keep Dunga.
He did a great job putting this team together.
Brasil is missing two key players.
Brasileiros need a money guy.
Dunga has resigned on Sunday July 4th.
This is the news coming out of Brasil.
This was a dumb move.
The Brasil national team was courting Parreira but he may not accept the job.
Parreira praised Dunga’s work with the national team.
Let’s see what happens.
The 2010 team didn’t win but they were better prepared than the 2006 World Cup team.
Politics is always part of selecting a coach.
If the heads of the Brasil Futebol Association think they can do a better job let them coach the team.
