Fluminense had a close call in the Copinha. Fluminense just barely got by XV de Jau winning 1-0. Wellington nailed a PK in injury time to secure the win for Fluminense.

Fluminense is using their young players to play in the Copinha.

The rain got so bad that the match was stopped for thirty minutes.

Vitoria defeated Santana 1-0. Cleiton scored on a wicked shot that ripped the twines in the 43^rd minute.

Vitoria resumes play on Wednesday.

Cruzeiro defeated Botafogo-Sao Paulo 2-1. Elber led Cruzeiro with the daily double. Both of his shots flat-out beat the helpless keeper.

The Copinha is set up so the younger players are able to display their talents on the pitch in a high stakes tourney.

It sure looks like some these kids are sure impressing the higher-ups.

Elber has three goals so far in the competition for Cruzeiro.

Fulham took on Stoke City in a make up match for both sides.

Stoke City took control of the match in the first half. The Potters jumped all over the Cottagers scoring three first half goals. Stoke City hung on as Fulham came roaring back in the second half to make a game of it.

Stoke City won 3-2 over Fulham.

It should have been a lot worse for the Cottagers. Stoke City should gave scored at least three more goals in the first half.

Tuncay Sanli led things off for the Potters. Tuncay nailed a close range header in the 12^th minute to give Stoke City a 1-0 lead.

Abdoulaye Faye sneaked into goal area. Faye rammed home the winner off a free kick in the 34^th minute to make it 2-0 for the Potters.

Three minutes later (37^th minute) Mamady Sidibe knocked home a ball off a great header to give Stoke City a huge 3-0 lead at the break.

Fulham came flying back in the second half.

Damien Duff nailed a shot from 20 yards out. The ball goes bing, bam boom, off of a Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross and into the net.

The Cottagers cut the lead to 3-1 at the 61^st minute.

Clint Dempsey hits a rocket from 25 yards out in the 85^th minute. This inches Fulham ever so closer. It is 3-2 with about five minutes left.

The Cottagers gamely tried for the equalizer but Fulham came up just short.

In end, the Stoke City got those needed three big points.

Fulham is in ninth place with 27 points.

Stoke City is in the tenth place with 24 points.

Later on Wednesday Arsenal has a hot date with Bolton.

This is a must win for the Gunners.

When the Gunners win, they will move into second place one point behind league leader Chelsea.
