Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. For the race of a lifetime is about to begin. There are three matches left in the Campeonato. Sao Paulo has a big date with Botafogo on Sunday afternoon. The outcome of this puppy will have a direct bearing on the outcome of the Flamengo Goias battle later Sunday night in Maracanã.
You can bet dollars to holes in a donut Flamengo will be scoreboard watching.
By the time, kickoff rolls around Mengao will know how the evil Sao Paulo did.
My advice forget that crap and kick butt baby.
A mere two points separate Tricolor and Mengao. Neither Rubro-Negro nor Sao Paulo can afford to screw up. For if they do you can wave the Campeonato Title bye bye.
I am a Flamenguista. I want to see Tricolor get their lunch handed to them by Botafogo. I will be rooting for Fogao to kick some major butt.
Adriano, Petkovic, and Ze-Roberto need to kick this sucker into high gear and score a ton of goals. Shut em down early. Score. And leave Maracanã with three points in your hip pocket when it is all said and done Sunday night.
Sao Paulo will be without three key players in their Sunday afternoon tilt with Botafogo. Given the you’re outta here is Borges, Jean, and Dagoberto.
Mengao will be without midfielder Maldonado when Rubro-Negro takes to the pitch Sunday night against Goias. Maldonado was injured in the Flamengo Nautico match.
With Palmeiras’s painful 2-0 loss on Wednesday night to Gremio, this opened the door just a bit wider for either Sao Paulo or Flamengo to walk away with the title.
Sao Paulo has 62 points. Mengao has 60 points.
Palmeiras is still in the hunt with 59 points. But remember if Sao Paulo wins on Sunday Alviverde will trail Tricolor by six points.
Palmeiras will have to run the table and hope Sao Paulo losses their last two matches. If this does happen Sao Paulo and Palmeiras will be tied for first place.
Lets hope Sao Paulo gets blown put and Mengao wins. When this happens Flamengo will be in first place all by their lonesome.
I am so lonesome I could cry. Not!
With this said, the Campeonato race is still a wide-open affair.
Internacional and Atletico-MG have an outside chance to win it all. Colorado and Galo have 56 points apiece. Wins are a must. If not you can kiss your dreams of winning the whole shebang goodbye.
This is nut cutting time times three.

The EPL will get back into action this Saturday and Sunday. I can’t wait to watch these puppies on Directv. I like choosing which games I want to watch. This is really cool.
http://www.blogtelevision.net/
My wife and I will park in front of the TV. We’ll watch Manchester United take Everton on Directv. Liverpool will battle Manchester City. The Reds City match will have huge implications for both sides. Directv will have this baby as well too. If the Reds lose you can almost kiss their chance of winning the EPL goodbye.
Directv will have all the EPL matches at your fingertips. http://www.blogtelevision.net/
Arsenal battles Sunderland. The Gunners need a full three points to keep pace with front-runner Chelsea. Spurs entertains Wigan on Sunday. You catch this baby on Directv as well.
Front-runner Chelsea has a hot date with Wolves. The Blues are currently in first place in the EPL with 28 points. Link up to Directv and watch this as well. http://www.blogtelevision.net/
This is nut-cutting time for several clubs. Man U needs three points. Liverpool cannot afford to lose again. Chelsea is in the catbird seat.
Oh, glory days for the fun part of the season is just beginning.

You can almost stick a fork in Palmeiras chance of winning the Campeonato. Mid level Gremio took it to Alviverde 2-0. This was more like a good old-fashioned butt whopping issued by Gremio to lowly Palmeiras.
Gremio took Alviverde to the woodshed and spanked em bad.
Third place Palmeiras played like a bunch of clowns. Muricy you stink as a coach. This is why the evil empire fired your butt.
Two red cards and dumb play cost Alviverde dearly.
Gremio scored just before the break. Rafael Marques knocked home the gimmie rebound in the 45th minute to give Gremio a 1-0 lead at the break.
The initial shot was a thing of beauty. Maxi Lopez avoided touching the ball with his hands and arms. He one timed the shot. The shot went boom off the keeper Marcos straight into the waiting eager feet of Marquez.
Stupid defending by Palmeiras set up this first goal. Hey, guys you don’t give a free entry pass right in front of the goal to the opposition.
What did you expect? A miss. Not on this day you dunder heads.
To make matters worse dumbos Daniel and Obina both got the heave hoe at the same time. These two clowns instead of fighting the opposition duked it out with each other.
The 45th minute proved to be very self destructive for Palmeiras.
This is the result of poor coaching.
Maxi Lopez’s goal salted this baby away in the 70th minute.
The idiots from Palmeiras dropped another match and thus you can sing Turn out the lights the parties over.
The party is over for Muricy and his merry band of knuckleheads.
You don’t win the Campeonato by going winless in your last four matches. Get this Alviverde’s record is two loses and two draws since November 1st. Way to go garoto.
Can you say Flamengo Campeonato?
I sure can.

Mengao has a real good chance to move into first place in the Campeonato. All Flamengo has to do is to have a kick butt performance against Goias at home in Maracanã on Sunday night. And then have the Evil Empire lose to Botafogo earlier Sunday and we’re in like Flynn. First place is ours baby.
I love it.
Then to top that sucker off have Alviverde lose to Gremio on Wednesday and this will make for us Flamenguistas a great end of the week present.
Let’s not put the cart before the horse or better yet don’t count your chickens before they are hatched.
Wednesday night is not here yet so lets hold on to our horses and see what happens.
Rubro-Negro players have it right. Let’s take care of the business at hand. Beat Goias and let the rest of the garbage sort itself out.
Adriano, Petkovic, Ze-Roberto, and the rest of the guys need to put the pedal to the medal play lights out futebol.
Preparation is the key. I love hype but the players must not fall into the trap of reading all the crap the sportswriters write.
Put the press clippings down. Concentrate and leave all the smack talk to people like me.
Go to Gávea and wall off the CK Vultures Nest so none of us crazies can get in.
When game time rolls around Sunday night Mengao will know exactly where they stand and what result is needed.
It’s wins baby and nothing less than that.

This is my favorite time of the year. This is make or break time. Teams are heading down the home stretch in search of the all-elusive Campeonato. We have five clubs in a life and death struggle. Sao Paulo, Flamengo, Palmeiras, Internacional, and Atletico-MG all have a good chance to win it all.
Six points separate the top five clubs. This where that cliché the rubber hits the road applies.
Three matches are left in the season. Wins are must. Ties or losses will kill Tricolor, Mengao, Alviverde, Internacional, and Galo Campeonato dreams.
My favorite manager Gomez the clown side Sao Paulo is in a world of hurt heading into the stretch run. A crazed fan ran onto the pitch on October 28 in a match against Internacional at Tricolor’s home Morumbi. By rule, Sao Paulo is not allowed to play their final match of the season at home.
Borges, Dagoberto, and Jean all got the heave hoe against Gremio. These cats were not allowed to play in Tricolor’s win over Vitoria.
The governing body of Brasileiro futebol will make a ruling on the availability of Borges, Dagoberto, and Jean against Botafogo later this week.
Andrew and Hugo both got yellow cards in the Vitoria match. This gives them three straight yellow cards thus these clowns will miss the key match against Botafogo this Sunday.
I love this. The Evil Empire will lose and Flamengo will take over first place.
For my mind, this is tough bananas.
Rubro-Negro has an all-important date with Goias at Maracanã this Sunday.
We gotta win this baby.
Adriano has a league leading 19 goals. The mad Servia Petkovic has scored eight goals since arriving at Flamengo in mid August. Way to go garoto.
Since Petkovic came aboard Mengao has been on tear. Flamengo unbeaten string is now at fifteen.
Yes, the basket counts, and a foul.
Alviverde battles Gremio this Wednesday night.
Palmeiras cannot afford to have a stink the joint out performance. If they have another one of those brain farts this will kill Alviverde’s chance of winning the Campeonato.
Only one can hope they will screw up and lose or tie against Gremio.
When this happens this will give Flamengo a clear shot at the title.
Oh, glory days.
Muricy you stink as a coach.

Flamengo defeated Nautico 2-0. This win propelled Mengao into second place in Campeonato with 60 points.
Flamengo is two points behind Campeonato leader Sao Paulo. Alviverde is third place with 59 points
Petkovic and Adriano both found the back of the net in the Rubro-Negro win.
Mengao got on the board early. A great crossing ball was fired into the box. Adriano was able to settle the ball. He passed the ball back to Ze-Roberto who was camped near the outer edge of the box. Roberto fired a shot on goal. Save. Rebound comes out. Petkovic fired home the winner in the 16th minute to make 1-0 Mengao.
The second goal was a classic futebol play. Ze-Robert drove down the right wing. The “D’ was forced stop Ze-Roberto’s drive. Adriano was lurking near the goal. Boom! Great pass from Ze-Roberto to Adriano. Buda bing. Goal. Adriano. 45th minute. This was all she wrote. 2-0 Rubro-Negro.
Give us Flamenguistas two points.
Way to go garoto.
The Emperor has nineteen goals so far this season.
Mengao had numerous scoring chances in the second half but Flamengo couldn’t pull the trigger.
Bruno came up big in the match as well too. Bruno made three key saves. Thus he denied three for sure scores. Way to go garoto.
Bruno is the miracle man in goal for Flamengo.
The Evil Empire is in first place with 62 points. Flamengo is in second place with 60 points. Palmeiras is in third place with 59 points and Atletico-MG is in fourth place with 56 points.
Three matches are left.
Six points separate the top four teams.
Anything goes baby.
I love it.

The Evil Empire needed a win and that’s exactly what Tricolor got on Saturday at Morumbi. A huge 2-0 win over Vitoria before the Sao Paulinos.
To be very truthful I was hoping for a Victoria win but this was not to be for us Flamenguistas.
Jorge Wagner opened up the scoring for Sao Paulo in the 24th minute. Washington broke free into the box. He fired a shot on goal. Boom! The ball rebounds off the keeper Viafara into the waiting feet of Wagner. Wagner knocked home the gift to make 1-0 Tricolor.
Hugo rifled home the match winner in the 48th minute. Hernanes fired a perfect crossing ball into the box. Keeper Viafara had a brain fart. This allowed Hugo to salt this baby away. Game, set, and match for Tricolor.
The Evil Empire is in first place in the Campeonato with 62 points. Palmeiras is second with 59 points.
Galo had a chance to move up the table as well but no Atletico-MG had their lunch handed to them by Coritiba 2-1.
Coxa is one of those lower level clubs that Galo needed to beat. Not!
This loss drops Atletico-MG six points off the pace. Galo is in fourth place with 56 points.
Mengao’s match with Nautico is now a must situation for Flamengo. Rubro-Negro needs maximum points. If Flamengo doesn’t get three points, you might as well stick a fork Mengao’s chances of winning the Campeonato.
Flamengo has 57 points.
Yes, a loss or a tie will keep Rubro-Negro in the top four but for me this is not enough. I want titles not close but no cigar. Campeonato’s baby not this top four-bull crap.
I want to Mengao raise their sixth Campeonato.

Sao Paulo battles Vitoria on Saturday. This match will be for all the marbles. Sao Paulo needs to win this baby. If not Tricolor could be odd man out. Vitoria is in 13th place with 44 points. Sao Paulo needs wins if Tricolor wants a four peat.
With the Palmeiras tie on Wednesday, the evil empire could move two points clear of second place Alviverde.
The evil empire will be missing several key players for this all-important match at Morumbi. Gone are Dagoberto, Borges, and Jean due to suspensions. Dagoberto and Borges are two key players gone and this will severally hurt the Tricolor attack.
What I am hoping for is a Sao Paulo loss.
When this happens coupled with a Flamengo win on Sunday over Nautico Mengao will move into first place. Oh, glory days.
Rubro-Negro has an important date with Nautico on Sunday in Recife. Adriano, Ze-Roberto, Petkovic, and the guys have to show up in full force. Mengao cannot afford to play like crap on the road.
Recife is a very hard place to play. The fans get nuts. They will be screaming all kinds of foul-mouthed words at Flamengo.
Keep cool guys and shove the ball into the back of the net.
This is a must win for Mengao.
Nautico is near the butt end of the table. I will bet dollars to holes in a donut that Timbu will fight till the death.
At this stage of the season Flamengo, Sao Paulo, Palmeiras, Atletico-MG cannot afford to have brain farts. Every single point counts. Lost points will cost you. All you have to do is ask Alviverde who lost two points against Sport on Wednesday at home no less in a two all tie.
After this weekends action there are only three matches left. Twelve points either won or lost will make a huge difference since only three points separate the top four sides and six points separate the top the six sides.
Oh, yes this is truly nut cutting time.
Katie bar the door for this will surely be a wild and nutty weekend in the Campeonato.
Us Flamenguistas will be at the edge of our seats.
Full three points is what is needed.
Sports/Futebol
Palmeiras had a chance to move two points ahead Sao Paulo with a win over Sport but no Alviverde wound up with a two all tie.
This tie is another fatal blow to Palmeiras chance of winning the Campeonato.
Alviverde fell behind 2-0 before rallying in the second half to tie this baby up. Two late goals one by Sacconi in the 71st minute and Danilo in the 84th minute allowed Palmeiras to escape with one point. This is not good. This stinks.
Ortigoza fumbled the pass. He stepped back for a slight second before slipping the ball to Sacconi. Sacconi broke to the goal and in one smooth motion fired the winner past the helpless keeper Magrao to cut Leao lead to 2-1.
The second goal should have been disallowed. Danilo was ten miles offside yet the ref blew the whistle to stop the play for an offside call but changed his mind a moment later and allowed play to continue. Sport stopped playing. Good and the basket counts.
Sport was pissed. Yet the ref said screw you I am the boss. You are playing in Palmeiras house. Alviverde can’t lose to cats like you. You bottom feeders.
There you have it a two all tie that shouldn’t have been.
The fix was in.
Instead of losing Alviverde was a given a gift of one point.
I don’t care what the press writes about Danilo being not offside. He was. All you have to do is look at the tape.
This was a BS call. This was a pure bush league call. The ref should be fired.
I am not a Sport fan.
I am a Flamenguista.
I hate this garbage. Wrong is wrong and I don’t care how many ways you cut it to Sunday this was bogus.
A pure homer call.
Both Palmeiras and Sao Paulo have 59 points however Sao Paulo has a game in hand. Tricolor battles Vitoria on Saturday. This would serve Alviverde right if Tricolor blows out Vitoria and jumps into first place.
Better yet would be a total Flamengo rout of Nautico on Sunday. This would give Mengao second place with 60 points.
Some kick butt revenge. Mengao wins their sixth Campeonato and the evil empire gets sent home packing for good.
This bush league BS grinds my goat. I hate it. I wish the ref’s would call an honest game instead of giving the home team the edge. This happens in all sports not just futebol.

Vasco is on the verge of making it back to the big time. Campeonato baby. Here we come in our full glory. You can bet all the Vascainos are singing throughout Rio. My friend Gil and my wife’s father are huge Vascainos.
You can bet dollars to holes in a donut they are dancing and singing all day long.
Vasco defeated Campinense 1-0 on Tuesday night.
Elton struck for the lone goal in the 33rd minute to propel Vasco to win. He fired a perfect strike that beat the keeper to the right corner.
This was all she wrote. Game, set, and match for Gigante de Colina. Now it’s movin on up to the eastside for Vasco.
Gigante da Colina has 73 points. Second place Guarani has 65 points. Bugre defeated Ipatinga 3-1. This moves Bugre close to securing one of the top four spots in Series B.
The top four clubs get the big “P.”
Ceara is in third place with 63 points. Atletico-GO is in fourth place 62 points.
Dragao thumped third place Vovo 4-1.
Both fifth place Figueirense and sixth place Portuguesa both lost.
America-RN shut out Figueira 1-0. Lusa was bageled by Juventude 1-0. Both Figueirense and Portuguesa could have cut the gap between them and fourth place Dragao to two points but no Lusa and Figueira lost to teams near the butt end of the table.
Brilliant play guys.
I just love it.
There are three matches left in the season.
One thing is for sure Vasco will win the Series B title and move on up to the eastside. Guarani will get the big promotion as well. The fight for the last two big time spots will be up for grabs. The contestants are Ceara, Atletico-GO, Figueirense, and Portuguesa.
One last thought. With no EPL action for two weeks what will the Premier crazies talk about?
I am EPL crazy but I have my beloved Brasileiro futebol and Argentinos futebol.
I know American football.
This would be a hoot.
