Author: We are now in the stretch run of the Campeonato Brasil. After Wednesday and Thursday night’s fun stuff, there will be six matches left.
Oh what fun we will have watching and listening to these encounters on Globo Radio and GOL TV.
Three points separate the top five teams. Palmeiras has had numerous chances to put a ton of distance between them and the rest of the field. But no! Muricy and his stupid club have been playing like junk for the last three weeks. They have stunk the joint out losing three straight in the process. Way to go garoto. Snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Oh, I just love this stuff. Alviverde has only one win in the last four weeks. I tell ya what this will surely bring the Campeonato to Palmeiras.
Verdao has a huge date on Thursday with Goias. This is a must win for Alviverde. Goias is in seventh place with 47 points. Goias is five points out of fourth place. This baby will be a huge battle. The match is being played at Alviverde’s house Parque Antarctica.
Mengao has a big date with Gremio Barueri on Wednesday. Rubro-Negro has to take a trip to Barueri’s house Arena Barueri. Adriano, Petkovic, Ze-Roberto, and the rest of the guys need to bring it to the house and kick some major butt against Barueri Wednesday night. Three points are a must.
Mengao cannot afford to play like crap on the road. This is not the time for a let down. At stake, let me tell ya. Flamengo has a good chance to win their sixth Campeonato title. Lets go get em. Flamenguistas rule the world.
Sao Paulo and Internacional square off on Wednesday night. Tricolor and Colorado both have 52 points. This should be the money match of the day. Morumbi is the site of this epic battle. Sao Paulo’s house has been a horror house for Tricolor. In Sao Paulo’s last three home matches, Tricolor is winless. Can they go for a perfect four in a row? We will find out late Wednesday night.
Gomes is the clown who has engineered this classic destruction of a great team. I love it. Gomes is a genus. I love to watch him work his magic. This is sheer brilliance.
Atletico-MG takes on bottom feeder Fluminense. Po-de-arroz is a very dangerous club. Fluminense trailed Goias 2-0 before scoring two second half goals to secure a two all tie. This wounded duck match will take place in Maracana.
Palmeiras has 54 points. Atletico-MG has 53 points. Internacional and Sao Paulo have 52 points each. Flamengo has 51 points.
Oh yes, there will be a hot time on the old tonight.

First of all thanks for chiming in on the piece concerning Barkley and also the piece on Ali.
As to the situation with regard to the soccer in Brazil , well let’s just say the teams that know what needs to be done will find a way to get it done- come what may. It’s the same with a number of leagues the whole world over. Suffice to say that if they fail , then the course of measure that’s usually taken is ……. the firing of the coach and the blame is also apportioned upon the star players on the team .
