Sports/Futebol
I have been looking forward all week to this day. Yep you guess it. It is Saturday. Saturday is futebol day. Oh glory day for my wife and I will spend most of the day either watching or listening to Campeonato Brasil.
But first, we will go hear Michael Reagan speak at The Church On The Way.
For those of you who are asking yes we do have a pretty active life. But I am a futebol nut through and through.
Flamengo has a great chance to move up the table if a few things happen. First Mengao needs to take care of business at Engenhão on Sunday.
Three points are a must. Adriano and Ze-Roberto will be up front leading the attack. But my other main man Petkovic needs to have another bang up game for Rubro-Negro. Petkovic has scored three goals in his last two matches.
Mengao will be missing a few key players. Williams and Ronaldo are suspended for having to many yellow cards. Alvaro, Kleberson, Everton, and David will be gone due to injuries. This is not good but Mengao should win.
Adriano will come up big and score a boatload of goals. I am hoping he’ll knock in at least two for us Flamenguistas.
The other match of interest is Sao Paulo and Santos. Tricolor is on a three-match slide. Another loss will almost certainly kill their chances for a four peat. Lets sure hope so if Tricolor gets bounced Mengao will move up the table to maybe second or third place.
In a nut cutting match third place Internacional takes on eighth place Gremio. Colorado has 49 points. Flamenguistas need Internacional to lose big.
Atletico-MG has an important date with Vitoria on Saturday. Atletico-MG is in second place with 50 points. Vitoria is in ninth place with 44 points. All good Flamenguistas will root for a Vitoria win.
If this all plays out the way Flamenguistas need it to by Monday morning Mengao will be all by their lonesome in second place with 51 points.
