Sports/Futebol

On Tuesday, the English clubs really stunk the joint out however on Wednesday it was a totally different day. Chelsea kicked some major butt in a 4-0 whitewash of Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge while Manchester United minus Wayne Rooney performed admirably in a 1-0 road win over CSKA Moscow.

The big upset of the day happened when AC Milan took it to everybody’s favorite to win the Champions League Real Madrid 3-2.  I love this stuff. It was great. Way to go garoto to stick a huge fork in Real Madrid’s phony pride and braggart ways.

The Red Devils were hard pressed in their match against CSKA. Man U was minus their super star Wayne Rooney. Dimitar Berbatov replaced Rooney as the go to man but he has yet to play up to expectations. I mean he misses time after time. This is not a good sign especially with a huge fight with Liverpool coming up on Sunday.

Man U started out slow. By the halfway point of the first half the Red Devils seized control of the match. Nani, Scholes, and O’Shea all had great scoring opportunities however they couldn’t quite pull the trigger.

The Red Devils didn’t give up and pressed the attack even more in the second half. Berbatov, Nani, and Owens all had excellent scoring chances but they came up with zero-zippo- nada until Valencia tickled the twines in the eighty-sixth minute.

Berbatov hit a great header to Valencia who was hanging around the back post. Valencia nailed the match winner and this was all she wrote baby. Three points for Man U and now on to Anfield.

Chelsea was in top form against the out matched Spanish Club Atletico Madrid. Atletico Madrid looked like a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. Yes, it was that bad. The Blues took control of the match from the opening bell. Chelsea played like we’re tired of this BS. Let’s steam roll em. This is what happened.

Salomon Kalou had a double. Lampard scored in the sixty-ninth minute. And to add insult to injury Atletico Madrid’ s Luis Perez found his own net late in the match. This was a great redirect of Chelsea’s Florent Malouda’s free kick by Perez into his own goal. When it rains it pours baby. Find a hole and jump in.

For me the best match of the day happened between Real Madrid and AC Milan. The Duck Man came through for the Italian club in the second half to puncture  the high and mighty Spanish giants pride and ego. The Duck Man Brasileiro Alexandre Pato scored twice in the second half to give the Italians the win.

His fellow countryman Kaka was stunned by the turn of events in the second half for it looked like Real would win. Not so fast buckaroo for when the Duck Man scores everybody listens.

I love it when teams like Real Madrid get knocked off their high horse.

Keep em coming Pato.
